Glossy Gaze

Glossy Gaze - student project

What else can I say that I haven't already expressed in my review of this class, other than thank you, thank you, and thank you again, Jamie.

For my spontaneous participation in the "Bring Spring Art Challenge" — by the way organized by other top Skillshare teachers as Anna Sokolova, Ohn Mar Win, Jen Dixon, Marie-Noëlle Wurm, Julia Henze — I'm eager to work on Skillshare projects and submit them.

Even though there were some reasons against it, I decided to take this class.

In fact, my project work is a combination of this class and the class "Art of Texturing: Realistic Fur with Indenting and Graphite Pencil", since Jamie's classes are wonderfully concise and I could dive into multiple of them right away.

For the reference photo, I chose one from Flickr on Pexels.

I never thought it would turn out so incredibly well within such a short time (started on Tuesday, submitted on Wednesday).

My inner critic was very vocal in the first few hours, making it quite a challenge, but also very enlightening.

So, I probably won't do something like this again, as it was quite demanding, especially for someone who wears glasses on such a small format (Fabriano Artistico 300gsm, hot pressed 100% cotton, 18x26cm).

If anyone else wants to participate in this challenge, or simply wants to cheer me on, you are warmly welcome: @pia.naka
