Hello Everyone!

I've chosen several stills from the movie Sin City for this project assignment. I've chosen several as I want to do character portraits and also figure poses.

I'm really looking forward to this project as it's been a while since I've drawn with pencil on paper and I've not inked anything in about 20 years so a bit excited and nervous about that bit. I remember that I did tend to over work images back then so hopefully I'll learn not to this time.

SKETCHES

I've tried to keep my sketches fairly loose at the start and I ended up drawing many more pencil roughs than are here. I kept them loose by not having a very sharp pencil! 

The likeness to Rosario Dawson and Clive Owen varied wildly. So I've picked those with a fair likeness and were to me the most artistically interesting. I think these represent the best of the bunch.

I appreciate any feedback and comments that you give. I'm also excited to see what everyone else comes up with for their project assignments. I hope to post my first inked images by the weekend.

INKING

Here is my inking of the scene of Gail and Dwight in the alley way. I found this part of the process really challenging but it was enjoyable enough in places that I definitely want to spend more time getting better at inking artwork.

I'm not sure about the mesh on Gail's bodysuit - I might remove the mesh or redraw it. I'm still thinking about it. Let me know what you think.

FINAL ARTWORK

I thoroughly enjoyed colouring (if that's the right word for this!) my artwork. Let me know what you think.
