Another great job Carmen! I love your colour choices. You captured the feather texture on the robin’s chest beautifully. The shine on the legs and eye is very life like.

It looks like the Mungyo paper worked really well! The layering of colors is beautiful, and the textures in your bird add great dimension. I'm particularly drawn to the eye and beak—they look so lifelike. The underbelly effectively shows a soft, feather-like appearance, and the wing feathers are very colorful. I think you've truly captured the essence of pastels, Carmen! I plan to finish mine up today and hopefully will get a chance to create another piece once the pastelmat arrives. :)

Thank you Diana . I can't wait to see the rich version! To be honest I spent just few minutes on that eye and beak being so small and this crumbly pastel. Had to go with my gut instead of all the little layers Heather used. Anyway this it for now for pastels.  Got to try water color again BTW I found these graphite blocks I bought moody colors no clue why I bought..guess some mixed media class I watched. Such a sucker for new stuff..u ever use?

I hear you with the crumbly pastel. The light blue I had when I attempted the first try is almost gone from just that paper. It just crumbled and ‘dusted’ away!  

The textures are perfect, Carmen, at first glance it looks like oil painting! The eye looks so real! :)

My cheap version! Mungyo pastel and paper brand. Not too bad . Is strange not to try and blend everything. I hope I simulated some texture.
