This was a great project for exploring gouache paint, composition, and colour. I did two versions as I was unhappy with my first one, and I forgot to rub out the majority of my pencil lines. I know Kate said not to draw and to free yourself from the constraints, but I just couldn't do it. So yes, I planned and I reworked the design. To be honest I'm not sure whether I like either design. There are aspects of each one that I like, which is good. I am uploading a few of my versions to show the process I went through.

This is version 1 without a background. 

This next one is with a background, fixed up a bit in Photoshop.
