Hi Louise,  I can see that you have worked with watercolour before, and I would not have thought that this was your first portrait! I really commend your brushwork, the way you have layered the colour, and you also seem to have a handle on reserving your highlights. 

As for the collarbone, you could perhaps cover up a little more of the areas that currently appear to be highlights (on the left), as this is mainly in shadow, but I don't think you need to add too much detail. The neck and collar area always seems a bit tricky to me because the transitions are so smooth and there is not a lot of detail to draw, and if we try it can easily become too much.  I can see that the darkest area in your painting is the outline of the eyes (and iris and pupil), and although I like to emphasise this part too, perhaps in your next portrait you could try either using the darkest shade in another part (such as the hair), or using the same as the darkest shade you have used in the whole painting (in this case your darkest shade is probably in the neck area). I feel that otherwise you run the risk of flattening the image. Does this make sense? If you wanted to use the darkest shade only on the eyes, to make them really stand out, perhaps you could try only using it on one part of the eyes, such as the inside corners, and then fading it out towards the other side. I hope this helps and let me know if you have any specific questions or need anything else.
