First Self Portrait
I took a number of photos of myself and ended up choosing my favourite three and merging them together using Photoshop to get the following result. I used my Canon EOS R50 and a tripod, and used the Canon phone app as a trigger. There are three of me to represent a multiplicity of mood and a kind of frantic inner turmoil, but also to highlight the lack of anyone else and convey isolation. I wanted the image to look quite moody and a little rough around the edges to reflect the tone of the subject matter, so I did do a bit of editing in Lightroom Classic, which included increasing shadows, lowering exposure, and adding grain.
This was my first time taking any sort of self-portrait, and I did find it a little uncomfortable, but it was a great learning experience, and overall, I enjoyed the process.
