Finding my style

As this class could not come at a better time. And I really thought when I started practicing today, that I would not succeed as I wanted to, I learned a great lesson of all: It is not about creating the masterpiece right away. It is about learning and Excel in techniques. And for that you need practice. And time, relax and enjoy the process. And so that is what I did and this is what happend.

First I analyzed and copied the paining of Kolbie, as suggested in the AP of APP.

After that I started analyzing again aswell as Exploring, as suggested in the EEE part. And I took notes:

Analyze - What do you love, what would you do differently

Practice - Paint the piece to practice techniques

Pivot - Think about how (or what) you did differently/want to do different

Explore - Look for similar designs you love and see what inspires you

Experiment - Try painting it again, without looking at the original. Try different techniques, paint something different from a place of creativity.

Excel - practice over and over until you excel or are happy and satisfied

-

Analyze - What do you love, what would you do differently:

  • I love the foggy look
  • I love the look of the trees
  • I love the color palette
  • I would want to paint the mountain different
  • I want more play of sunlight in the scenery
  • I want more definition on the blueish hill

Practice - paint the piece

Indigo, blue, black/paynes grey, lavender, pinkish, orange, yellow, bluegreengreyisch.

In my Exploration I came across some beautiful sunset pieces with reflections which I adore but never really painted haha. So there came the Experiment and Pivot in handy.

Eventually I was quite happy with my last try!
