Wow! This cross-hatching technique was really challenging for me. I had never done it before, and I made a lot of mistakes while working on it. Since I was using ink, I couldn’t go back and fix anything—haha—which actually helped me accept the results as they were and then learn by observing my errors. I’ll try doing it again in a few days to see if I can improve.

 

I especially struggled with achieving the midtones and the darkest shadows. The transitions between those areas ended up looking too harsh compared to the highlights, and I found it hard to keep my lines more spaced out where needed.

 

I’d really appreciate any advice on how to improve this!

 

I had a lot of fun, even though my anxiety made it a bit hard to follow the class in a more relaxed way.
