I liked the 'repetition of subject' prompt and immediately thought I'd chronical some of my husbands sock collection.

It was actually quite fun and he has a lot of usual socks, so some of them, like the dinosaurs and Pride designs were a little challenging.

After sketching first, then going over with a Sakura fineliner, before adding watercolour - not my neatest, but it was 5am after a very little sleep! My husband also loves puns, so I had to add a bad one...

I thought I'd revist the prompt in my new art journal, and decided to chronical both my husband's sock collection and our daughter's beloved squishmallows.

I repeated the same steps as before; sketching in pencil and defining with Sakura fineliners. Instead of watercolour, I used a combination of brush pens and pastel markers for colour. Though as a final touch, I used glittered watercolours over the Squishmallows.

Its only noticeable in certain lights, so it adds a fun pop without being too much. Both collections were fun to draw and I'm pleased how they look together - it's also an interesting reminder for (UK) mother's day, which is the day I drew them.
