Enjoyed soooo much
Not my absolute first go with cold wax but definitely my first go at something resembling a landscape. I live at the beach in Australia and so moody/misty mornings aren't really what we get. We do however, get incredible sunsets and skies in general so this is what I'm going for.
I also decided to abstract the landscape a little as that's just what I like to do.
A difference in my painting is that I used acrylics and PowerWax. I don't have too many oils but own lots of acrylics. I did enjoy working with this but have found that after a while the acrylic/wax mixture was drying, much like acrylics themselves. So, annoyingly I got lots of little "flecks" of paint when scraping a thinner mixture on the next painting. I do own a tub of Gamblin as I'm a watercolour portrait artist and I often finish my paintings with either the Dorlands or Gamblin (as I work on Aquaboard). I have ordered some more water mixable oils to test the process with the Gamblin.
Lovely little class that has definitely sparked a fire in me. Also, I instagrammed this painting and the painting sold immediately. I didn't even offer it for sale. So, thank you!
