Eco-Conscious Finance Project

- What is their score card when it comes to environmental issues?
ESG principles are visible as soon as you load the homepage of the bank (at least in my region). Upon visiting the designated webpage, the bank states that accepting this principle is the basis of doing business in the 21st century, and that they actively search for ways to implement these principles in their business.
Some of the ways there principles are implemented are:
- Using bank cards which are made from recycled PVC (the first of their kind in my region);
- Adding disability functions to their website for people with special needs;
- Two green investment funds;
- Donation to local renewable energy projects;
- Implementing energy-efficient architecture in their offices;
- Digitalization of their processes etc.
- Do they have a plan to divest from fossil fuels?
I could not find this particular information for the local branch of the bank, although the bank’s group/HQ has made such declarations.
- If they score quite poorly, what alternative financial institutions are there in your area?
Using the website of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values, I found one bank in my area (3Bank) and I plan to further investigate their business and opportunities.
