Different Test Results

I used three different papers for this experiment: Fabriano 25% cotton hot press, Fabriano 100% cotton hot press and Fabriano 100% cotton cold press. All papers were 140 pound papers. Previously I had been using the cheap 25% cotton paper but was always disappointed in the outcomes. Couldn't really put my finger on it. I had my "aha" moment during this experiment about what those papers really can and can't do. I thought for sure I'd have the same outcome for the two 100% cotton papers but no, they were different. The cold press absorbed more water, more quickly and took longer to dry. Once I learned how long to wait to get my desired result I was off to the races. I repainted a project I did a week ago and was originally disappointed in the results. Now, with the right paper, it turned out exactly how I saw it in my brain. I've even written myself a note on the cover of each pad identifying what that paper would be good for and what it won't. Really grateful for this class.
