The wordmark

• A script-to-block hybrid. A flowy 'C' with upright, and blocking letters following it. Craft meeting industry.
• The underline tail. The y deceneing into the baseline is a classic signpainter move that anchors the wordmark to a surface.
• Weight and confidence. The stroke weight is substantial without being too aggresive. It reads as loadbearing and trustworthy.

Annotations on an early version

I started this digitally (before discovering this class). I always knew it was violating some basic logotype rules and that it needed some serious love.

 

Digital refinement 

Based on a ton of the goodies I learned in this course, I refined over and over again until it felt right. It was tough balancing some of the rules and knowing when it's okay to break them.
