Vision for computers / machines!

I learned about this recently as I met with a robotics researcher. 

He described how computer vision is used by companies like Tesla, Waymo, or other autnomous robotics companies because these robots are tasked with transforming images (2D) into a 3-Dimensional space so that it understands what's there. 

I learned how it processes different angles of objects and vectorizes to know about seperation between different objects. Then cross references with other objects to calculate distance.
