Thanks Judy! Have you tried coffee paintings before? If you haven't, I think you'd have fun with it. 

I have not tried coffee paintings. Seems you enjoyed it. Do you mean painting with actual coffee or painting a coffee cup still life?

I loved this tutorial and your little paintings are so well done. I can see it as charming little paintings on a coffee shop menu. The fact that you used coffee is such a nice touch.  I used instant expresso and dark roast packets from Sprout's Market here in the US and found it a great way to create coffee paintings. I loved the look and smell of my coffee paintings with Evgenia Cordie. I remember trying it at a coffee shop on a white placemat but with mixed success.  I was in a coffee shop somewhere, a long time ago, where the art on the walls were coffee paintings!

I'd love to see that coffee shop! My coffee is El Cheapo Generico but it still smells amazing ;)  Believe it or not, I have a 30 year old coffee painting from high school ... it holds up surprisingly well, doesn't it?   Tamas is a great teacher ... I'm looking forward to the next step in this series!   Thanks Kris :)

LMAO Cheapo Generico Costcaro is my favorite blend of coffee. It will put hair on your chest. 30 yrs, well done! If we only knew back then that coffee coloring was archival.  Tomas is a great teacher.

Your tiny paintings look great, Jen. And of course, I love your creativity. Your monochromatic theme looks amazing. You've used tonal values perfectly on the entire scene. The inverse lettering looks fantastic. I really like the outcome. Thanks again for your support, Jen. 🙂

The paint being coffee is very  well thought out Jen. I have previously tried that myself but discovered you need instant coffee. The other doesn't work, The smell while you're painting is great. Coffee also works well with  the little sketches.. Well done as usual Jen.

Thanks Jennifer :)It does smell amazing. Giant Food's store brand (El Cheapo Generico) was on sale so I grabbed a jar and it was so much fun to work with. I like that the dark parts stay shiny and look wet. Kris B (above) says she was in a coffee shop where the artwork was all coffee paintings. Wouldn't that be great to see?

it would be great Jen. I feel the need to paint something with coffee now may be go to Evgenia's  Coffee painting class. I just love watching what you get up to art wise. You are amazing.

This Gen X'er remembers the old Dunkin' Donuts. Instead of watercolor I painted with instant coffee.
