Church_Watercolor Pencil Masterclass
Thank you for encouraging me to dig out the watercolor pencils and play, Toby! I always enjoy your relaxed and supportive approach to art.
This drawing was done in a Hahnemühle Nostalgie sketchbook with Faber Castell Albrecht Dürer watercolor pencils. The sketchbook has a fine-grained, 190 gsm paper (probably hot press). I've found I don't like watercolor pencils on regular cold press watercolor paper because of the line textures that are left behind in the structure of the paper. I like the feel of the watercolor pencils on the smoother paper in this sketchbook, though. It makes it easier to get the colors to flow, and I can still leave line texture if I want it.
