Bould Climbing App
I've put the outcome at the top for those who don't have time to look through my whole process (which is at the bottom). Hope you like :)

The process

The problem was an easy statement to make (to begin with) as it's something I experience alot and feels quite personal to me. Making sure I covered the need and obstacle in a clear and conciser way was a little harder.

Again the empathy map was fairly easy to make as the experience of climbing is very physical and makes you feel, think, see ect a lot of things. I'm not sure I'd find this as easy if the problem wasn't something I experience - I imagine I'd have to ask them lots of questions to fill this in.

Turning the empathy map into a hypothesis wasn't easy - there were so many things I could imagine that together would help solve the problem. I had to choose one thing... I gave in and sneakily snuck in two solutions: 1. way to track their climb 2. get shown the beta.

(Old) Then comes the user journey, picking out the key moments of a climb. I'm not totally sure on this one yet, it feels like it's lacking in content. I may need to read up on user journeys a bit more as from the course I still feel unsure.

Update: I realised I'm probably not meant to just be documenting the current user journey but how I imagine them interacting with the solution - still not 100% but I'm trying

Before starting with the sketches I decided to gather some inspo so I had some visual references of features and layouts to implement - this wasn't advised by the course but I personally thrive from inspiration.

I made quite a few different sketches as I would think of new ideas each time I drew up a page or saw it in context with another screen. One issue I have is that a climbing app already exists which features part of the solution - not 100% but some of the pages (slide 3&4) are already perfect and I am not sure about reinventing the wheel. I can of course add my own twist but it doesn't feel too original.
I'm not going to bother explaining the last few parts of the project as there's not much to say apart from the fact I was constantly looking for inspiration and iterating on designs.
