Botanical sketchbooks: 

I used mechanical pencil, pen, woodless color pencils, and oil pastels.  I did the color swatches with the oil pastels and the color pencils. The oil pastels which I normally use were not great and felt more like a crayon. The colors were better with the pencils

The photos below are from my garden and the inspiration I used for each sketch above.  I will definitely get a larger sketch book and higher quality oil pastels, and more art supplies.  The colored pencils were used on the poppy and the two leaves and the oil pastel on the drooping flower, and a regular ballpoint pen on the violet and vine.  For now I prefer the pen drawings until I am able to get higher quality mediums to try! Definitely want to try watercolor and guache next.
