Kris, I love him! You have beautifully layered the colors just perfectly on him, and love the soft background. I really love your paintings because you have truly developed your own style (and it is a really good one). Your expression and beautiful touch with watercolor always comes through! Teresa, you are so kind. I am pleased with him, he is cute and made me happy. I am glad you like him too, that tells me im on the right track. I looked at the blue tit (Will) and the humming bird (Kryz) on my office wall completion board and I thought, hmm, what does this say? The Ad reads: Artist in search of style. Serious offers only. Frivalous dalliers need not apply. Pick a direction, any direction, lol. But I think it is very goods to try many ways and I need to work on light application of paint and the essential lines and that is this little guy. I covet your light hand and clever eye.

Kris, I really love and relate to what you wrote here! We are lucky to have these great artist and teachers on Skillshare, all so really different- Will, Jane, Nadine, Krzysztof and others. It is good to try our hands at all the different styles. Sometimes I feel like I need to figure out if I have a style-I think you really do, it is great, and you have good art sense.  I like how when you do projects you put your own touch! Do you do a lot of your own art that is not from tutorials? 

I think you have a style too! It makes me swoon sometimes how beautiful you paint.  It does seem we have our little fan club for Will, Kryz, Jane, Nadine and I would add Jane Beata, Evegenia Cordie and Carrie McKenzie. It is also good to find these little gem classes by Taja Jensen, Hieu Nguyen, Jane Beata, Tomas and Zuleyha. So many brilliant artists so little time.  And yes, I like to try lots of stuff. I went to art school in 2001 and got a degree in graphic design and multimedia communication when I thought I could leave nursing.  Haha, didnt happen, but I had fun. I also loved working with stained glass, mosaics and copper foil which is why I think I love watercolor. I wanted to refine my draw skills to make my own patterns. I am currently working on a pattern called the Egg, a 3-d glass terrarium, designed by a Russian guy who was on Instructionables.

Kris, thank you so much for the kind words, you have truly made my day! Sometimes I question my progress (as many of us may do!); your encouragement really means a lot. I will look up these other teachers you have mentioned. I agree, so many great classes and not enough time.   It is great that you went back to school to explore art and it is really neat to hear all your endeavors. I remembered there are a lot of artists in your husband's family too--what a wonderful creative environment!!
