Blue Forest

Eithne was jumping with joy upon visiting her grandfather's village within the blissful nature. Her heart danced as she stepped into the lush, green embrace of the forest. The sun was shining brightly in the sky. The rays that filtered through the rich canopy of leaves and branches overhead cast a kaleidoscope of light and shadow on the forest floor, creating a tapestry-like pattern on the forest ground. The air was breathtaking, with the symphony of birds chirping to celebrate their freedom and the gentle rustle of leaves like whispering wisps, murmuring secrets in soothing harmony.

Eithne inhaled deep, trying to savor every breath of fresh air and the earthy scent of the forest. A cocktail of fresh pine, moss and the faint, sweet fragrance of wild flowers were scents that could not be replicated or found in any man-made perfume. The breath of fresh air filled her lungs with purity and her heart with tranquility. She wandered through the forest without a map or guidance, drawn forward by the allure of discovery and adventure, her soul alight with the simple joy of freedom.

Eithne's heart swelled with happiness so profound that a simple act of wading in the creek brought her joy. In the middle of the forest stood a clearing where sun rays hit the ground unimpeded by the dense canopy of the trees. It transformed the clearing into a sanctuary of light. Eithne wandered further into the middle of the clearing; nestled deep within the forest was a waterfall creek. The water of the creek provided a vibrant cerulean sheen and the jagged rock that framed the creek added a wild beauty to the scene. The sharp edges of the rocks, softened by the moss, were constantly caressed by the mild current of the flowing waters.

Eithne settled herself at the edge of the creek and removed her sandals to dip her feet into the cool blue water. She splashed the clear and invigorating waters into the air as sun rays hit the droplets in the air, creating several miniature rainbows.

For Eithne, the moment was pure and unbridled happiness, as the vibrant hues of the rainbow and the glistening waters melded together into an otherworldly experience that was timeless.

The sunset and the sky became darker and darker. The steps were hesitant as the sky was getting darker and darker. The moon appeared, and a shiny silver coin-sized sphere peaked above the clouds, contributing the little light that barely pierced the oppressive darkness that clung to the trees like shrouds. A gust of wind blew that sent chills through her spine and gave her goosebumps.

The sound of owls and bats echoed ominously through the air. Eithne's breath came in short, ragged gasps as her heart was pounding in worry that the creatures of the night might lurk behind the dark bushes. Every shadow seemed to be hidden and lurking with menacing intent. The further she ventured, the more the forest seemed to engulf her within the twisted branches, vines and roots, clawing at her clothes as if trying to claim her.

Eithne panicked as she lost her sense of direction, the trees now towering over her and the leaves rustling with whispers of accusations in the winds. Unable to navigate herself out of the woods, she stumbled over the roots of the trees that snared her feet. It seemed like she overstayed her welcome and the figures of the trees were ushering her to leave.

Finally, she collapsed on the muddy, dirty ground against the cold wind, her body shivering with exhaustion and cold. The darkness provided a tangible weight of despair, as if she were lost in the labyrinth of terror, ensnared in a nightmare, alone and vulnerable.
