I had fun with the armature and scuplting and sanding the birds but difficulty painting the big one,lol.

Seriously, it's harder than you'd think! It really made me admire Stephanie's steady skilled hand. 

I started with gouache and quickly realized that although I could control my application well, I didn't have any spray on varnish. Bummer! So brush on was gonna smear.  I sanded lightly and reapplied gesso. I looked at Mexican folk art animals and was wowed and inspired by the bright colors and wonderful patterns but settled for a simple design. I used an embossing tool to get my dots instead of a paint brush.
