Beginners Guide to reflect inner self
#21 - Birch wood.
#20 - Monochrome
#19 - Potted plant
#18 - Expressive sky
After two attempts and ruining 2 good skies, I ran out of patience with telegraph wires and replaced them with a pair of storks nesting on a telegraph pole, with just a few wires! One sees these elegant birds all over Southern Spain making their homes on telegraph poles, these two were in Almería, from a photo taken several years ago.
#17 - Floral window
#16 - Vibrant Sky
#15 - Mountains
#14 - Reflections
#13 Dream destination
I had a great deal of trouble uploading this image, would not load a full size imagine file, but accepted a medium size file. Sometimes technology drives me nuts!
#12 - Sunset on the beach
#11 - Northern Lights
#10 - Gradient Sky
#9 - Storm clouds
#8 - Silver birch
Really enjoyed painting this picture of a silver birch, one of my favorite trees. I now live in Mallorca and the climate doesn’t allow these beautiful trees to flourish here, so memories of my old country came bubbling into my mind.
#7 - Moonrise over sandstone cliffs
#6 - Flowers in the Sunset
#5 - Lightening Strike
Really enjoyed this piece, watching the pigment do it’s own thing with the water was lovely. The temperature here in Mallorca where I live is about 38 degrees, very hot, quite difficult to keep the paper wet long enough for the paint to blend, but pleased with the result on this piece.
#4 - Lavender Fields in the afternoon
#3 - The Sun
#2 - Diving Sea Lion
#1 - Lavender fields at Sunset
I have painted 2 versions of this lesson to try out different paper and size as not using Polaroid format. Will maybe have a go at another in a watercolor sketchbook I got today from my art supplier. Used the first one as the cover, painted on Aches 20 x20 cm cotton paper. The second on is on Fabriano Artístico cotton paper, slightly smaller 12.5 x 18 cm. Paints are Winsor and Newton Artist grade watercolors, which I will use through the whole project.
