Thanks Molly, I really enjoyed this class and feel like I learned some valuable new skills! I hadn't tried the mirror function in Procreate before, and WOW - it's been an absolute game-changer.

I had a few dried dahlias and eucalyptus branches in a vase on my desk, so I decided to have a go at drawing them. The dahlias were very complicated shapes, so I used the tips in the class to help simplify and stylise their forms. 

I played with a few colour palettes, initially using a pale colour for my background. I tried to get away from orange (my favourite colour) but I just kept coming back to it! Then I accidentally made the background dark and it all just seemed to come together.

Finally, I wasn't quite sure what to put in the middle of my canvas. I was listening to some tunes while I was sketching and "Be True" came on and it just seemed to fit. Sometimes I try to break away from my own personal tastes and style, but I feel when I just go with what I like and what feels right to me, things suddenly just fall into place.

I can't wait to experiment with border illustration some more!
