Meera, this is stunning! You have really captured Cooper’s spirit and look. From the soft soulful eyes and soft snout the those gorgeous floppy ears you’ve really created such a lovely piece! The white fur is really wonderful too-one of my favorite furs to paint. Oh and can we talk about that background….chef’s kiss! Keep it up and can’t wait to see more from you.  And I am not sure why Skillshare doesn’t seem to play nice with portrait versions of the artwork. I would reach out to Skillshare support and see if they might have a solution. I can try and see what they might say as well. Wondering if it has to do with the device you are using. Hope that’s helpful!

Adorable!! You captured this sweet boy perfectly!! Great job!!I saw your comment about Skillshare.  I wish it would allow us to share the image "vertically" and get the entire image in. I usually have to post "sideways" to enable the complete view. Not sure the way around this!But regardless,  great job on your painting!

Oh Meera, your Basset Hound has the most perfect sad expression typical of the breed. They have so much personality, and you've captured it beautifully. You did an excellent job with the highlights and the fur as well. If you're experiencing any issues, I recommend emailing Skillshare support with a screenshot of your problem. Thank you Diana for your guidance. I got a prompt response from Skill share helpdesk. I cleared the cache and resized the image. And voila it worked like magic :))

You're very welcome, Meera! It really makes a difference to see the painting in its entirety and in the correct orientation. Cooper is adorable, both with and without the background. However, I must say the background you created is really impressive; it complements your charming pooch perfectly without taking away from it at all. Is that the salt texture effect you used? How did you manage to achieve the background colors surrounding your subject so flawlessly, without any paint overlap? I would truly enjoy looking at that adorable face every day and stroking those big, soft ears!

Haha.. nice compliment Diana. I am sure Cooper would enjoy all the love and pets he gets. Yes, I used salt for the background and all credit goes to Mary Evelyn. She makes it all possible.

Wow, Meera, this is fantastic!  I love the color and all the texture you got in the background; it really makes the basset hound pop.  And the dog is so beautifully painted, the eyes are very soulful, and his expression is so full of personality.  I just love pet portraits, and yours is wonderful.

Lovely...I normally take a photo of my project and even if looks upright I just edit and just make slight adjustment and resale. Then upload saved image.

Thank you for another great class Mary Tucker. Your short tutorials on painting the nose, eyes and background are very helpful, leading up-to the full portrait of darling Cooper. Enjoyed it a lot.
After trying for 2 days I am still not able to upload the painting the right way. I wish skill share can fix this glitch in their app.
Finally got the orientation right. I cleared the cache and resized the image. Thankful for the prompt response from Skill share helpdesk.
