AWEsome painting with Fatih
Could there be a more fun and engaging tutor on Skillshare? I LOVED doing this 'Abstract Watercolour Escape 1' with Fatih ... and Jack ... thanks Jack also. I needed an escape from the heatwave that we are having in the UK at the moment, and from my busy work life. I escaped from too much paperwork - ha ha ha! - and into my world of colour and ink. I have tried neurographics before, but it's always good to get another tutor's take on it, and I enjoyed watching Fatih's process as much as having a go myself.
So I started with a line drawing similar to Fatih's and I coloured it with similar colours ... whooo-hooo-hooo - so much fun to watch the colours and water mingling together, and I deliberately dropped water on to near-dry paper to create intentional blooms - love this! ...

If you need to know, I'm using 100% cotton paper by Funto which I found on Amazon . Colours used: Rose of Ultramarine (Daniel Smith), Bright Rose (Holbein), Quin Red (QOR) and Diarylide Yellow (Jackmans). I used a #3, #5 and brush pens.
And when it was all dry, I just had to have another go, because, why not? The word 'confetti' came into my mind, so I used pretty much the same neurographic lines with smaller and bigger circles again, on the same paper brand, using the same techniques, and the same pens. But I used different colours - Opera Pink, Lemon Yellow Deep, Dioxazine Purple (Winsor & Newton) and Shell Pink (Holbein). As I was painting I just felt so relaxed, sloshing colours around on the paper, splatting and dotting and watching the pigments do their thing on the paper - this is my happy place!

And it was so good to find a way to play with watercolours that I can do for 30 minutes, or an hour, or two hours - whatever the time permits in the future. I can pick this up and put it down when I need a break.
Thank you Fab, this was excellent, and I'm really looking forward to completing the AWE series with you.
