A guide to watercolour paints exercises - student project

A guide to watercolour paints exercises - image 1 - student projectHere is a group of some of my watercolour paints, including those I made with A guide to watercolour paints exercises - image 2 - student projectNew Zealand pigments that I collect near where I live in the South Island.  I have some really old tubes and pan sets, so I was very interested to see how they looked.  The Winsor & Newton tubes were solid, so I cut them open - they worked fine!  The Marie's Chinese painting colour is rather like gouache, and I had not used it before (received it a few years ago).

I find doing the complementary exercise difficult, this image is my best attempt.  I never make enough of the secondary colour!
