A Common Raccoon Painting Study

Here's the Class Project painting from my class, Acrylic Painting: A Common Raccoon, the fourth in my Acrylic Painting Studies Series here on Skillshare.

In class, I demonstrate how to paint this Common Raccoon portrait study step-by-step using reference photos.

I used many copyright-free reference photos from Pexels.com and Unsplash.com and one from a student photographer here on Skillshare who gave me permission to use her photo below that she submitted as her class project in Rueben Clarke's Wildlife Photography Class. (Thank you Anne Wright Dobbelsteyn! Your little visitor is adorable!)

To prepare for the class, you can download the Materials List, Traceable Sketch, Anne's Raccoon Photo (as well as other photo references) and the Final Painting all found under the Projects and Resources Tab below the class video.

And, in a nutshell, you'll need acrylic paint, a surface to paint on, some brushes and a can-do attitude!

Then you're ready to go!

If you've never painted with acrylics, you may want to take the Introduction to Acrylics and the Painting Process from my Beginning Acrylics Series where I go over the basics in more depth.

This is a great series for beginners and for anyone who would like regular practice painting in acrylics, so I hope you give it a go!

See you in class,
