2 micro palettes

I've just finished reading Hazel Soan's book on using limited palettes and already had a few ideas for making one when I discovered this course which tied in really nicely. Using the information from the book, this course and what I like to paint I've created two mini palettes. I actually created two complete kits with A6 sketchbooks and palettes and other art supplies depending on the subject, they both fit into little army pouches I can just grab and go. All my paints are Daniel Smith except for my Schmincke Raw Umber in my 2nd kit. It was unexpected that both palettes ended with 7 colors. I could have had 8 but couldn't see anything I wanted to add.2 micro palettes - image 1 - student project2 micro palettes - image 2 - student project2 micro palettes - image 3 - student project2 micro palettes - image 4 - student project2 micro palettes - image 5 - student project

My first kit is my everyday or urban kit. I want this one for urban sketching, flowers in the garden and random things so the colors are bright and good mixers. It's a split primary set with Quinacridone burnt orange instead of Burnt Sienna. I bought the two 3 pack paint sets from Daniel Smith when I started out. The yellow, red and blue set and the green, purple and burnt orange set. I've added a few colors since then but like the burnt orange so haven't bought a burnt sienna yet.

My second kit is my seascape kit for trips to the beach and lakes. This one uses a mixture of colors that give me good blues, blue-greens, and blue-greys and greens. Also a nice range of distant mountain purples. It's a bit more earthy.
