10 Days of Patterns Inspired by Objects

I am a huge fan of Neha’s work, having come across her first class on here a few years back… her patterns have a way of calming my busy mind, aiding me through Covid and other current life difficulties, whilst bringing me moments of joy every day, and even helping me beat the ever-looming Artist’s block! So this is me just saying: follow her!
I was very excited to try this project, as I am finding more and more that daily practices are keeping me from stagnating (I am also a big fan of Mermay and Inktober). I am elated to hear that this is just part 1 of 3!
I used my little Sketchwallet sketchbook, as I have kept this one simply for mindful patterns, so this class was perfect for adding to this particular book. It also gave me the added challenge of working with a much smaller layout, in a square format, rather than rectangle. I wanted to add this to explain why there are unrelated patterns in my photos.
Every day was a mini-adventure! Although some of the patterns seemed daunting at first, Neha’s encouraging and clear instructions made it so that they were easy to follow, and allowed room for happy accidents and personal flourishes! And although I’m not entirely happy with how a few of mine came out, I can easily see what I will change next time.
I hope you enjoy looking at my work, and thank you Neha once again for another wonderful class!
