1. Intro Video: Hi guys. My name is soley art and welcome to character illustration, design, Walt Disney character in Adobe Illustrator. If you always wanted to create Walt Disney or cute cartoon characters. Or you are interested to create a website or mobilization, or even create any of the characters you are in the right place. We start from a scratch by creating a simple character, mostly with ellipse and Pen tool. Didn't we learn how to simply color it? Now it's time to understand different style of brushes for drawing and coloring by creating this little cute character. Then we go for drawing or sketch and coloring with different brushes styles and multiple shadows and highlights. Now you are ready to create determined Jerry poster and also learn how to design multiple character in one artboard. And at the end, you have to do your final project. And don't worry, if you've got any problem you are covered because I put a video tutorial of your project as well. All right, let's get started. 2. Workspace: All right, before we start creating this little cartoon character, let's see how we can make our art board the same. C swatches is here, the guide is here. And this is how it works. If I go to a window and looking for swatches here, if we click on it, it's just going to pop up here. And then I'm just going to click on and then drag and drop it here. In this here. Just gonna be next to color guide. I'm just going to drag it, put it here. So firstly, swatches, then its color guard. Colors here. You can go to Window, look for correct click on it and drag it and drop it here. The color is lactase, the colors here. I'm just going to drag it and put it here between the lines. Didn't just going to add in the properties, properties, color, swatches, look for Pathfinder, put it in between, and we have the layers. The brushes is on top for now is what we need. The left side, this is what you're going to do. I'm just going to click on it. Hold and easy this little icon here and just click on it. It's going to be like this. Then click on this arrow. And I'm just going to drag and drop it here. Just like this. The same thing with this one. I'm just going to drag here and just click. Then. It's going to be like this, getting in this left arrow, gonna be straight. It's going to be the Pen tool and also is going to be the rotate and reflect. Most of the time we need to rotate is gonna be here. And also we have the paint brushes and broad brush to also put these two here. So this is what we have. 3. Drawing with Ellipse Tool: All right, Now it's time to create this little character only using the shapes. Then we go for the next step and we use Paintbrush, Pencil, pen tool. And I put the process here so you guys can follow along and easily. We can create this beautiful little character from now on. After it is Big-O for creating a lot of coolest stuff and play around with a lot of brushes. And trust me, you guys are going to love it. The first one is this one. We have here something called Sketch. So open this 01, start and sketch is going to be here. I'm just going to attain out on the sketches, this one. This is the file. Let me just open that up. This is going to be the outline shape. And I'm just going to lock everything. Everything is locked here just for sample of the color. Let us start creating this. Before you start, you have to think about it, something like this. So this is going to be a circle. This is going to be something else. So how we can create this, but this little circle and shapes that I have here. So let's try, let's try the ellipse one, hold down Alt and shifts, so nothing is gonna happen when you see something like this. It means you are not in the layer or the layer is locked. I'm just going to come to the outline. So I'm just going to delete this one. So basically you have something like this. You have this sketch. I'm going to lock it. I'm going to create a new layer. I'm just going to call this outline. Everything else is locked. We are in the outline layer and the front feel is empty. And this one, the background is stroke. Press X. Just going to come to the top is going to be black. So to see what we're doing, I'm just going to zoom out so you guys can see exactly what I'm going to make an ellipse again. Hold on Alt and Shift, and Option and Shift and drag. Try to come up with this circle from left and right, it is an inward, so hold down Alt or Option and drag inside. So this is cool. You see this a bit. The top, so reducing top bar. So drag this one up a bit. It's gonna be something like this. Still is not going to feel this area. So what do we do? Click on this little direct selection tool. Select just these two. These two are selected. Come here, exactly here and the pass, and drag it up and hold down shift and you see it from the left and right. At the same time these are going to the top and we're good to go. Again, click on this little ellipse. And here we go. I'm trying easily going around, going through the topic. Come here. Bring this down to this area, to the left. And here we go. We have another circle here. Let's try. Maybe this town, I mean, maybe it left. This part is okay. We have another one. Maybe if we put it here, would be fine. This one has a bit of a straight line here, so it means it's a rectangle. I'm going to rotate it. I'm going to put it here. We go. Drag it up a bit. What about this one? Let's see. Let's go to ellipse. Here we go. It's easy. Working with this. Shape tools is easy. Also, let's try this one. This one is going to be something like this. Again to the top, to the left. Nice. We have another circle here. We have something here. Maybe a bit of a rotation, maybe smaller. Inside. How to copy the left part to the right bar. It's the easy way. Just press Control R. If you don't have the ruler, this is going to be up here. Drag it and drop it exactly in the center. Select this. And also this one. Hold down Shift to select the other parts. Now click on this reflector or press O on your keyboard. When you click it, you see the center point is here. We have to change it. How do we change it? Hold on Alt. You see the minus one. So it means now come to this guide in the center and click on it. Maybe for you, is on horizontal, put it on vertical. The angle is 90. Make sure the peer reviewers active so you can see what it's gonna be copied and press copy and a C and it can lift is copied to the right. And how easy it was. I don't need this one. I'm just going to delete it for now. We can change the brushes here. You see? Sometimes if I go to my brushes, I don't want all this brush has to be the same science. I want to maybe the ear. These kind of shape, you see, it's a bit different. Here is a bit stronger, here is a bit thinner as we play around with the shapes to create something more natural. But for now, I want to try to keep it simple. 4. Using Shapebuilder tool: I'm just going to select everything. Maybe a bit of a stroke would be fine for now. And I'm just going to put it on. Hold down Shift and press M on your keyboard. It means Shift M. What is that? It's Shape Builder Tool. It means I can just come around here, you see, you see the plus sign means I can just go around and combine these shapes. I'm just going to go inside. Combining, I don't want these two. I wanted these B is shape, shape. This is a shape. And I'm just going to unite this part. This part, this part C. Again. It's very, very simple to work with. If you have something like this, this one is not selected. I'm just going to select everything Shift M. Shift M. Here we go. Again. Select everything Shift M. I don't want the spark. It means I have to hold on Alt or Option. You see the minus sign means I can get rid of these to go in a bit. I wanted this part and this part, don't worry, we'll fix it. Here we go. Here we go. How easy is that to make these parts? What about this? Click on this little minus sign for Delete Anchor Point, come here, delete this anchor point to come here and delete this anchor point. And then we are good to go. Maybe some of you guys want maybe around these corners. Easy again, select the direct selection tool and click on this little icon here. Hold down Shift and also click on this little icon here. You can round this a bit. You see not that sharp anymore. The same thing here. Well now shift could again, maybe round a bit that much to make it more interesting and more natural and maybe very little. Nice. All right. 5. Draw inside mode for Coloring inside Objects: So this one, this one. The good thing about this is I can just color this in C that the good thing about shape is you can always come here and easily you can color it. But if you draw something with this, no, you can color it because these join has to be connected to be colored. Let me just join. It should be something like this. Again, these two joints, even when they connected, not colorants. So it means we have to expand it. We have to do a lot of work. That's why I'm just gonna put this for the next lesson. For now, we draw something very simple. Now it's time to draw something inside this ear. I'm just going to drag this shape, but inside of this, how do we do it? There's a lot of things we can mask it, but the easy way is you select this part, the shape. Click on, Draw Inside with Shift D, you can switch between these modes. I'm just going to click on this little icon here. Dry and now pick up your pencil tool. And easily from outside doesn't really matter. I'm just going to go around this feed my mouse. Just follow the lines. That's all. Here we go. Here we go. You see this circle, it means they are joined and they are connected. You can let go. So everything is good to go. If your line is not as accurate and just illustrate like mine, just double-click on this and make sure it's smoothness is from here. Come together, just drag this and put it here. And just press OK, 156, the pixel and press okay, then you're going to be good to go. It's going to be very smooth. Then press I on your keyboard and just color it. I pick up my eyedropper to pick a color. I'm just going to click here and that's it. And select outside. And I'm just going to come out and you see, this is gonna be perfect. Now it's time to color this. And this is the trick. If I select my object, look, if I select this, and then if I color it, is just gonna be colored in red. But take a look here, because we colored the inside. If I click on here and just pick a red color, everything is gone. When you color something in LSAT that you have to use this option group selection tool. Just going to select just this group. You see these pixels just as group. We're just going to come here and pick a color. Now, in this one at the same. Now I'm just going to remove this. Don't worry, select this. Can reflect or Alt. Maybe I can come here and center and copy. If you see it's not really match your arrow key. Insights. And you'll be to go right now Let's try to color it. This part. Again, I'm just going to select these guys and dry inside. I can use my pencil to me. Look, just going to click. No rush. That's it. I'm just gonna pick a color for this. Maybe. I wanted a stroke. Click on the stroke one and none. That's it. Let's go back to draw normal mode. 6. Draw the Face and Coloring: Become the ellipse. Draw something, rotate it. Put it here to copy to this part. Press on your keyboard or silicon, this one, alt, come to the center it is and get born. Alt click. I'm just going to be copied as well. It doesn't really matter. Sometimes that is small or because when we have a sketch, we're just trying to follow something on it. It shouldn't be totally accurate. Now let's draw the face. Now I'm just going to pick up my rectangle. Here we go. Maybe large from this side, when you make it large, you see these are separated and I'm just going to again select these two and connect them. This part is going to be fun. Let's see. I'm just going to click on my lips Alt Shift and draw something like this. Press Shift X. I'm just going to switch the fill and stroke. And I'm just gonna make it black, maybe six. Now, pick up your Caesar. If it's an eraser holding on Cesar and click on this part and also this part selection to, I don't want this part delete selected. Let's go to stroke and put it on cab. Going to drag this up a bit. Nice. Hold on, Alt, Shift copy to this center. When this is selected, I want to just extend this one. You have to come and select the Pen tool. Here. Click when they see this slash, it means you can continue, click and continue to this part. I'm just going to click on this one, extend this one a bit. And that's it. I'm just going to click on this one and make it press X so the fill, and I'm just gonna flip the black year, we go easy-peasy. What about this? I Alt Shift. And let's bring down the opacity to see what we are going. Again, I'll Chief going to be white. What about this? I'm just going to select this one and bring back the opacity. Now, let's try something different. Let's try b. Encourage you to, encourage you to always easy, I'm just going to click Connect Center and click here. Now press Escape. Press Shift X to switch filament stroke. Let's go back, make this six stroke and Cap Rounded. Just going to select my selection tool. This is going around. Escape. Here we go. Now let's draw this one as well. I'm just going to draw something like this. Pink color and press X. And we just need to feel, I want to copy this to the right. What to do? Easy-peasy. One, click, Shift, select. Select this one, hold down Alt in the center. It doesn't matter, anything is in the center. Most of the time is. This one is better. Anchor point, alt, click, Vertical 90, copy. That's, it's just going to remove the sketch. Let's select that face. Press I click on this one. And this one as well. I don't want a stroke one. So what do you do? Click on this part. This part with the group selection tool. None. Also. This one, I can color it. This is going to be none. If you press I on YouTube and you color it would be fine because we selected with group selection tool, that's the key parts. Alright, let's change this color press. And here we go. That was the trick. If you want to draw something inside, you have to use the inside more draw inside mode. When you want to color it, you have to choose your group selection tool. Now, this was the basic how to draw inside, how to create something very quickly, just with shape too. But most of its sign. We use paintbrush. We have something that doesn't work with shapes. If you want to create these switches, it takes ages. And there's gonna be a lot of messy circle around. I want to pick up my paintbrush tool or pencil or pen tool and just go around the line. We're on my sketch and draw something very quickly. Have to do it. Gonna be in your next video. 7. Next Character Draw with PaintBrush: Alright, open your 0 to draw phi, and here we are. We're just going to zoom in a bit. We occur, try and draw this with a paintbrush, pencil, and pen tool at the same time. So we use everything to try this little cute cartoon character. I put the process and the steps here so you guys can follow along. I'm just going to keep everything for you guys is what I have done so far here. This is the sketch bar. I'm just going to open that up. Forget anything in blue. So everything is going to start from the top. So we have a foreign, we call this layer sketch. So redraw on top of this. How? First? Let us start with paintbrush. Now, let's create a new layer and we'll call this outline. Let's come to number one. What do you have to do it? We have to create a sketch, BG, shadow, highlight, an outline there. So let's start. So we already created the outline. Let's go click on Sketch. Adding new layer. Call this BG or background layer for shadows. Maybe if you have two or three shadows. The first one we have to call this shadow one. Shadow on another one we call this highlights. Now let's click on Outline and lock everything else. I'm just going to come here. We have something called a paintbrush. Now we are on the outline layer. Now, if we click on this, if you cannot see this, it means you have to go to your brushes and pick the first one. Double-click on it. And let's try to put the size and ten. If you have a Wacom tablet put in pressure, vacuum and also using mouse. Right now I'm just going to try to use mouse for the rest of this tutorial. The variation is ten. If I use my mouse, I don't want to have anything else. It just gonna be a straight line. And this size of this drug is the same. But if I use my back on tablet, is going to do something like this. You see at the beginning is very slow and it is thinner. Now here in the figure, you see that there is a difference. I can just play around with it and have it variation of the size of the stroke. But for the rest of this tutorial, now I'm trying just use mouse is going to be very simple. So double-click on it and put the smooth from here to here within 12 and click Okay. When my paintbrush, I can go on top of this. But if science is a bit big, I'm just going to click on this, double-click on this, and maybe put this size on seven declaration, just gonna go back to seven as well, apply it to this is going to be smaller. I can just play around with this easily. I can see what is behind it. I can change the size. Anytime. Look, I'm just going to close this. I'm just following the line. Meet my mouse. Lot of people that they say you need a vacuum tablet but you don't. You still can do a lot. Video mouse, trust me. Most of the time, it's going to be easier. With a mouse. I'm just gonna try to go over this. Be connected. And let's see. Beautiful. And from here to here, nice. Let's see you have something like this. Again. One more time. Here we go. See how easy is that guys? I'm just following my mouse. No rush. From here to here. Easy. Again. One more time. Control Z. Again. Very slowly. Especially this area. Beautiful. Especially these areas are very Important. Beautiful. One more time. 8. Create, Add and Apply Brushes to the Lines: Now the first part is finished. What do we can do is, I can come here and I can select this with just Selection Tool. I can select these and come here and change my brushes. I mean, I can use one of these brush. How to add brushes? If you come here, Come forward, you see all these brushes. I can select one by one. I can select them. Maybe this one. Maybe this. If you cannot select it, it means it's locked at the bottom roadmap. Then that off and click one of these. Click on this plus icon. We can use calligraphic brush or you can use art brush. It doesn't really matter. I'm just going to use art brush because I want to see it here. Art Brush and tint so we can color it later and press. Okay. If I double-click on this and I can put the sides on maybe 400. Apply brush. The same thing. Applying art brush. Size 400. Teams. That's it. Same thing. Apply. Art brush 400. Apply is the same. So everything else. I'm just going to apply it up 410 so we can color it later and everything else. It'd be so easy. These brushes are going to be very helpful during our process and drying. Just follow along. Add all these brushes, 400 and size and tint. Now to show you how I created this brush, you guys know exactly what I did. There is a very important brush, this one. How can create it? Just create a line, hold down Shift, create a line. Press Shift W or V2. I'm just gonna use the V2 and I'm just going to come here so I can see the center. Click and drag. That's all I did. Click and drag. Maybe a bit narrower. That's all. That's it. If a good the corner if it's not coronary or rounded cap. And make sure it's this one for you guys. For example, you can put it on rounded cap. Gonna be easy-peasy, dressed. Selected brushes. It's Art Brush. Click. Okay. Make sure you put it in tin tank click, Okay. We have everything here. So it means when I draw something, if I select it, now, I can change it to this one. Now I can click on this and I can change my brushes. Is going to be more interesting. Not going to be just the same. Select these two. Nice. Everything has a limited for now. Some parts should be stronger, some parts shouldn't. Maybe this part and it, this one. This one's maybe, let me check. Z. Maybe I want to, I don't want to change these. Maybe these two beautiful, maybe this nice. When I'm happy with this one, I've changed everything. Maybe I'm just gonna change this one as well. And this one as well. 9. Use Direct Selection Tool for Connecting the Lines: What I've changed everything. Now it's time to come here. And we did direct selection to join these tools. I'm just going to pick up this one. I'm just going to come here. I'm just going to click on this, make sure this is underlying. Make sure everything is connected. This is not connected. Gonna get a problem. So this is connected. Maybe I'm just going to select this break here. This is not connected. I'm just going to leak yet and connect this I'm putting on the line. This is the very, very important part in our process. Guys have to go in to connect everything. Beautiful, smart. We are connecting everything to the line. Because when you want to color it, you have to be sure that everything is connected. So this is not connected, right? So I'm just going to connect. All right. This is the part that most people are getting confused, that why my coloring is not working. Exactly. Why? Because you didn't join every single simple. Make sure you do the right thing. Not connected. This is exactly something that could be in trouble. Awesome. All right, This isn't connected. We can connect this one as well. And connect this one. Also. This is, should be alright. Everything is connected. I'm just going to close that up. Now let's see what we have done so far. I'm just going to go to a sketch and turn that off. See how beautiful these lines. And nobody noticed that. Redraw this with a paintbrush. It's very sharp, is like air. Pen tool. Bring that up. Sketch, go back. What is the next process? 10. Outline Stroke and Unite: The next one is create this as an outline. And with the shift M F to go inside. If something missing or something is wrong, we have to fix that. Or we can use unites. I'm just going to show you the outline. I'm just going to select everything. Go to object, go to path. And right now we have to put it on Outline Stroke. I'm just going to zoom in so you guys can see it. You see these are the part that are not connected. These are the parts that are not connected yet. We can use Shift M with Shape Builder Tool or simply click on Unite. I'm just going to show you some parts as you guys know. Just look at these parts, see what happened when I click on Unite. Look, now everything is joined. Why is that? Now we can color this. We can just go back and we can just easily color this. So if I color it and everything is okay. So it means all of these, all coloring and the United are connected together. Press Command or Ctrl Z to go back. All right, beautiful. 11. Coloring Techniques: Now the next part is going to be BGN. Turn off the BG lock. Look at the process. Let me write it. We create the BG. And if we do something else, what is that? This BG, look at this color, but we already have this color here. I'm just going to click create a layer on top of this condition called this face to face. I'm just going to select the group selection, select this one and bring down the opacity for now. Or maybe from here, we'd be fine. It doesn't PG. I'm just going to go back on face. Luck. The BG. Accidentally touch entity, ellipse, create, rotate. If I press D, None. I play around with this. I put it here and try to create these shapes. What about this shape? It's easy-peasy. Just going to copy this. Maybe rotate it a bit. Zooming. Go. Something like this. Also something like this would be fine. It's gonna put it here. Again. Rotate it. More rotation. Now, select everything shifts, select these three circles. Shift M, hold down Alt, and remove these parts. These parts. Plus you can join it. Selected, selection tool. Click here. Bring it up here or Glick ear first. And I'm just going to just put it here. I can change these to color. Or maybe discover. What about this one? Here? If I select everything, shift, select everything and click on this little reflect to come here. Or I'm looking for something more centrist. Maybe here, or maybe I pick this one. Alt, click. Make sure it's on vertical 90 preview is on Copy. What about these parts? Click on this one and make sure you follow the line. I'll click. Just going to go back. And here you go. I'm not going to connect it. Alt, click and press Escape. Let's press D. None the field. Let's do something radical. I'm just going to go here and click on this one. And I'm just going to try to fix this, maybe a bit more natural. Nice. Now, I'm not happy with this. Just click and drag this. Nice bright better. I'm selecting this one, getting our reflects, Alt and click and this one. So it's just gonna be copied and copied. I'm just going to zoom in. I'm just going to select these to regulate and join. But before that I'm just going to remove this ruler acidic this again regulate end joining. So these are going to be joined. Going to go down. Select these two, right-click and joined. Simple as that. Why we join them? Because now we can fill them with anything. But before that we couldn't force open. Now, pick up your pen to go inside and try this. I'll click clique, and let's go back. This one. Same one-click. One-click here. Alt click or Option, click. Drink, click. That's it. Press Escape. This one when it's selected, click outside selected, again, reflect Alt click. Copy. Go inside. Select these two right-click join. Select this right-click. When something like this happen. So you try and click one of these qubits to the here. Let's go here to the right. So these are on top of each other and now select them and join them. It's going to be much easier. Now, acidic this pair to just select it like this, like this. Press I select outside. So it's just gonna be feel. Select the reflect tool, hold down Alt, click, Copy, just going to be coming to the right. Select this one. Press X to get the feel and pick up the pink color. Also this one, press D. Let's just color with this one. I don't need this stroke and silicon, these have to go back to coloring. So it means the ten BG. Bg was, I believe if I liquid group selection to bring up opacity. Beautiful and easy is that to create this one guy's awesome. So far, so good, Let's save it so far. 13. How to Create Shadows: And now let's click on BG and lock it. Let's go to Shadow. Open this lock. Luck to face. What you have to do is we have to create this shadow around these areas, this area, this area. And there's a very cool trick that I'm going to show you guys. This is going to say, let's get a concerto. Click on blob brush tool. Blob brush is gonna be like this. Smooth should be here. The size is nine, is pressure sensitive, so it means you can use a Wacom tablet and presser game pickup, a color, very dark bluish color. And it is going to work on stroke. I'm just going to draw, it may mouse various slowly vary. Gently. Going to go outside. And I'm just going to connect these two together. It's a very important. Now, pick up your group selection tool. Now, come here and click inside the group selection, I click the inside so we can press Delete. What else? Gonna be something light. This also something like this. I'm not worried about anything going to connect these two together. Group selection, select the inside, deeds. Select the inside, delete. Let's go back here, select the inside. If you select the outside and delete, all of them are gonna be deleted. What about these foreign parts? Blob brush tool and we go Nice. Select the inside, delete. Select inside. We have the net's. Pick up this dark color blob brush tool and it's inside. See here. If I go outside, I'm not gonna be worried about anything. The same here. I'm trying to just explain. I'm not trying to be very accurate and very efficient with the shadows right now because I'm just wanting you guys learn the process and do what you like. All right, So far so good, I love it. Now, here's the trick. Unlike the outline. Select the outline, this circle selected press Command or Control C to copy it. Now, select the shadow, press Command or Control F to copy in front. If it doesn't work, sometimes happen. Go back on our outline. Come back what you'll see here. The shadow, come out Control F. Now it's copied. It's copied. Luck the outline, so we accidentally don't change it. I want the shadows one more time. Select this circle around another circle. It means everything is selected. Now I can trim it. If I collect trim, see what happened. Everything is going to be d by dt. If I select my group selection tool, if I don't need to say, let me clean that up. I can select everything. I can clean these areas. That's why I said, don't worry about it. If you go outside, don't worry about it. You can just select everything easily. Remove it. Inside this part, Shift, select these two parts. This part, this part shifts at it just to see how easily I am cleaning everything, guys. This is one of the best way of coloring our character or everything else in Adobe Illustrator CC. If I don't use my group selection, I'm just going to select everything. Just use your group selection for adding color or removing extra credit that out of your place. All right, So far so good. Now I'm going to lock my shadow. I select my selection tool. We have something here inside. I can just select this, but I cannot select it because it's locked. I can go to my face, selected, select this one. Now, select the Draw Inside. Blob brush tool and very darkish pink color. I can go Around. Look, segment, group selection, select the inside and delete. Now, I can come to draw normal. Already have this beautiful shell here that was on the face. You can do better job, but I'm just going to explain for the first one. I'm just going to explain how it works. Then we go for professional level of drawing and coloring. The current price exact same. Or drawing has a lot of things to it. So every time you learn something and drawing, you'll never stop actually, the kind of drawing that we have. 14. Create the Highlights: Now we go to the highlight, then are off. Now we can work on the highlights. It's easy. Blob brush tool. Make it white and let's go inside. With your bracket keys. You can make your brush size smaller or bigger. So I'm just going to make it a bit bigger. I'm just gonna go I'm just going to go around this area. Don't worry if you go outside again and we're just going to clean them as just try to do something. Natural. Insight from inside the horn. Awesome. The same process. Ten off the lock of outline, select the outline. Control C. Come on top of the highlighted, select the Highlight Command or Control F. To get off the outline. Again, select the circle so it'd be up to circular. It means everything inside the highlight is selected. Now trim it. Go inside that selection to be clean the mess. I want to see the background because there is a lot of things behind this, because the white background, it doesn't show. Just going to go in here. Dropbox. Black one is okay. I'm just going to go to the highlights groups, electron two. And maybe this is a different color. Maybe this color will be nicer. Now, lucky to go to finite group selection. Now, I'm happier. I'm selecting everything that is out of the line. Is it we have something like this? If I say my group selection tool, you say that I'm just going to use Caesar's and just click on one of these and goals. So click on one of these. I'm just going to delete these parts. Come here and select this one and just bring this. Here would be fine. Group selection tool again, and extra things that are out going to be selected easily. I can shift select everything that I don't need very easily. I'm just going to clean the area. Some part that I'm out. Again, I can use my scissors to select everything. Just going to select this part, or maybe this part. Just use my mouse. Hi disguise. Sometimes it's easier to hide evidence. Then I'm just going to go back. I can group selection tool and delete the area. I just purposely selected the outside so I can show you guys. Most of the time, I'm not really out like this. It's going to be much easier for me. You went something like this. I'm just going to select this. And I'm just going to hide this. Sometimes is easier than trying again. That's it. 15. How to Finish the Work with Background: When you created the highlight, it's time to fix this. Back there and I'm just going to select everything. I'm just going to go through this layer is another BG. I'm just going to select it. I'm just going to come here to gradients. Select the center one. I'm just going to select this. It's going to be very light. Or let me just select again. I'm just going to select this copy here. I'm just going to pick it very bright color. I'm just going to select on this one color maybe. Maybe I just picked this car. And it's going to be something like this. This down. I'm just going to click a new layer. I'm just going to make it something like these little categories is standing on something that is Shadow. See how beautiful is that this one is much better than this one because these lines are equal. What? These lines are thicker and thinner, so makes it more characteristic than this one. That's why we use paintbrush. That's why we use different brushes to create something more interesting. So this is also the process, so you guys can just follow along, but this is basically it. Be just copy the outline on top of the shadow and the BG, we select everything we sending all of these shadow and background and trim it. Then we go inside and we clean that mess up. There's a lot of Ottaway to color it, but this is the easiest and the best way and the fastest way of current Thanks guys, because every time everything is trimmed, it means right now I can come back and fix it. Gets select. Every letter is smaller things. Now I cannot select because it's locked, but I mean, everything is accessible. Everything is selectable. And this is the best way of drawing things. Because sometimes your client is telling you, alright, I don't like this color. Maybe you have 1000 of small little color like this. You cannot select it. But if you select this equal to select, if you go to Same and select Fill Color, everything else is going to be selected. Now I can do to change the color infusion. I'm just going to explain why. This is the best way of coloring things and fastest way of coloring things. In Adobe Illustrator. You could also draw this with pencil tool. And I'm going to just come here and pick up the pencil tool, take a look. Going to create a new layer. Look. I can just come here and follow these speed. Depends on press D and then that off. Make this higher. They could think about this. It's going to be connected. You see this minus sign, it means it's connected. I can follow these lines again. But don't. The problem is mainly connect this. If I go to this one, the whole line not separated. So basically what we need is separation. So this part should be separated from this part because I can add some different weight of a stroke to it. This is gonna be bolder. This is going to be smaller because gonna be a smaller. Or with your little Wacom tablet mouse. If I click on this one, if I come here and maybe I pick this one. My mouse, I can just follow along and create something more interesting, something easier. Vacuum tablet that I'm, right now I'm going, everything is smoother, so we'll start very light. We have it be a weight here and lighter here. And again, I can play around with this. I have more characteristic, more evade to it. So I can play around with these shapes so I can get a better result with Wacom tablet. But trust me, There's no much difference. You can also use with mouse. As you saw, we created this just a bit miles and it's beautiful. It's simple and beautiful and very fast. If you want to do this, you can do this in 20 minutes. It's gonna be very good artwork. You can sell this an NFT guy, trust me, if I go inside, maybe this could be changed to something else. Could be going to save this as a draft final. 16. Rooster Character ink Drawing: Alright, open, you'll find 03 roster Fighter character. But I'm working on the final. So you just open the character one. We have final locked sketch and we have created the BG is empty, shadows, highlight and outline. These five are locked. Just this one is unlocked and we are going to work on it and create these outline. For creating the outline, we have two options. You can use pencil. You can just come here and just very slowly go over it. Go to brushes and look for something like this one or this one, or then simple one. Play around with this until you get something cool. Or we can work with Paintbrush. Come here. We did paint brush. It would be easier. I'm just going to go over this easily. We're going to create your line, something like this. So we're gonna do this, create a line holding down Shift to be a straight. Then I'm just going to play around with it until I get something like this. Maybe five is enough. Go to the stroke, make sure the cap and corner is around it. And that's it. Open that up. Art brush. Make sure it's thin so we can play around with the color. And I don't need this one. Here. Let's add a bottom. I'm just going to delete these two. Don't need them. They're just gonna take this one, the paintbrush, the reading outline, and this one can be selected. And here we go. Look. If you think it's big, I'm just going to select it and make it one. Or it can be 1.5. And that's it. As you see. These parts is thin air, this one is thicker. So how to do that? Something like this, but it backwards and it can be too, which is nice. So we're going to work on this one. When we start is gonna be something like this star is thinner. The end is thicker. That's it. Thinner, thicker. And try to just follow along these lines. That's it. We are going to create a beautiful outline to create these crops there. Something like that. We can always change this. For example, this one is a straight, I'm just going to use this one. For example. This one is something like this is gonna be something like this. To make it a hands more interesting, I'm just going to use the same thing. Look beautiful or backwards. Something like this. This part is going to be thicker. This one. We were using this one. For this one, we're just going to select it and use this one. If it's smaller or larger, I can just play around with it to create something like this. Same thing here. Nice on what I am just going to do the same thing. This time. Again, I'm just going to select this one, I guess. Or I'm just going to select this same thing. Just make it lighter. Again. Nice. That's it. This part is going to be more interesting. What about this one? It's totally normal, so I'm just going to do this. Make sure I'm going to select it. Click on this one. Speech, make it to be a smaller. That's all we do. What about this part? I'm just going to select from here to here. First, I'm trying to just follow the line selected. Make sure you pick up this selection selected or selected with the selection. Let's create something like something is deleted. Try again. Paintbrush. Sometimes happen you didn't know what's going to happen. So it wasn't a straight I'm just going to press Control Z didn't draw it. Again. This is cool. Select. Play around with it. Make sure this is going to be perfect. Let's keep going. I don't like this one. Select it. This is the part three. I'm just going to draw the other part as well like that. But this part is going to be two. This is the way that we create things. Going to play around with it until I'm totally perfect. Got it. What about these parts? So basically I'm just going to try to create everything first. Then I can go and select it and change the stroke size. Now, I can select this. I know this part should be larger. So what I'm gonna do, the sports larger, also disperse, larger. Then I'm just going to go back and connect everything together. So this part shouldn't be that larger, I guess. Maybe two. Sparse. Let the spot shriek BE you're going for I'm just going to play around with this huge maybe three or given to. Nice. Here we go. I'm just using one of my mouse guys. I'm using my webcam tablet. If you don't have vacuum tablet, will be fine, easy-peasy. Everyone can do this. Make sure you select it. Then add a stroke. Selected stroke. For these lines. I'm just going to click on this and maybe just do something like this. If the lines are huge, I'm just going to use this one. Make it small. Just going to keep going. Nice and easy. Beautiful. Beautiful. You see how easy is that to follow these things? So what about dispersity, this part, it would be very simple. Hence, you have to go back and connect these things. For example, you have to connect these parts. Don't worry about it. You're going to go back, connect everything so you guys can see what do we do exactly? Change this to a normal way. That's it. What about D sports? Look, going to use this one? Would be fine. Here you go. Welcome. Tablet is going to be much faster. Trust me, it doesn't really matter. You can create and do anything you like. I'm just going to change this. Let me do this. Then. I can come back and try to create something else to me as something like this. I'm just gonna leave that part. Maybe these parts, this one, this part can be less fine. This part can be something like this, but David, larger. So this is how we do. This one also can be a little bit more nicer. What about these parts? I'm just going to pick this one after you choose the paint brush. Let's see. Make it larger, nice. Let's go for these parts. These parts, these parts. One more time. I want to see nothing. It can. Sometimes I do it again and again and again. Especially mass. Beautiful. Now, what about these ports? Just pick this one and go over this. Again. I'm just gonna pick something else. My paintbrush exactly in the middle is huge. Bring down the opacity from here. Nice and easy. Perfect. What about these parts? Let's see. This part. Select, crease, elect, increase, twist steps one to steps 123, something like this. This part maybe should be something like this, but larger. So we see the color is different. Just double-click here. Let me share. This is tint. Can be black. Apply. Every single one of these would be fine. Same thing. Maybe. Something like this. Nice. All right. Let me check. Our outline is over. Now it's time to fix the joint line. To fix the joint line, let's pick up the selection tool and let's jump into it. Make sure you click and select this point and get bored. Drag it inside. Every single thing should be just FDA lines should be connected together. That's all. We see this outside a bit. Maybe something like it's fine. I'm just going to jump into it and very quickly, maybe five minutes. Fix everything. Just make sure your lines and strokes are Okay. Video, which should be a smaller, maybe this one should use smaller. So first of all, I'm just going to fix this lines. This one maybe it should be 1.6. All right. These ones, I'm just going to select all of them and probably just going to reduce in exercise. One. Probably more stroke. Maybe less, one is enough. All right, cool. These parts. I guess maybe to discards. Even this one can be two. I'm selecting each one of these strokes and play with the size until I'm happy with it. I don't want to be huge. Let me see. I guess this part is fine. Maybe this part is a bit large. Number 335. I guess it's fine. 17. Use Direct Selection Tool to Connect the Outlines: And now let's jump into it with direct selection to connect. Everything is should be connect properly. These two are very important. The jump into it. I'm just going to select each one of them. Make sure they are all connected. See, these are not connected. So make sure you click just this anchor point and bring it in. The same thing. Same thing here. These are not connected. Connected in. This one, should be connected. This one as well. Nice and easy. Beautiful. Got to make sure this is selected and drag. Click and drag this one, click this anchor point and drag it here. Make sure everything is joined. Because we are going to be, you're going to trim it for painting. Day should be just connected. There's no time to come back and fix it. We try to always to be perfect. So each steps should be perfect. So see, this is not connected, but now it is nice and easy. This one is not connected. Let's go back and let's select this one again. Click on the anchor point and play around with it. Awesome. Everything looks cool. Everything looks easy to do. That's all we do guys. Go and look for the line. You click on the anchor point and everything is fine. This part is not just going to select this part as well. To jump in with all going out, guys, if you're wondering, I'm just going to click Alt and go back and forth with the scroll wheel, mouse wheel. Alright, good to go. I guess. Everything is fine. This part. Thank you for incoming. Showing everything is fine. Can be better connected to fix them. Alright, perfect. So everything is connected. And I'm sure these two are connected to I'm trying to just put it here. Maybe you went up. Fine. 18. Expand Appearance and Outline Stroke: All right. After we fixed the joint and everything is connected, it's time to select everything. But there's a trick. If I select everything, I'm an outline, I select everything. Go to object. If I see the Expand Appearance before we go to Path and click on Outline Stroke, I have to click on Expand Appearance. If I don't do it, let's see what happens if we do pass Outline Stroke. Now if United, I get this problem's. See, everything is messy. What happened? I don't know. Press Command Control Z to go back, come back, go to z again to be in the first place. Now, go to Object if I see expanded appearance after click on it. So everything is united. Now I go to object, pass an outline, pass to be ready for the Unite. Now if I press unite, everything is going to be fine. So that's the trick. That's why a lot of people don't like Illustrator because they get confused what to do. But if you follow these steps, you'll really good to go and you can create any artwork and any character that you like. Now let's go for coloring. 19. How to Create Color pallet from a photo: All right, for coloring, I'm just going to lock this, overlap, the BG, BG, close the brushes before we do anything. This is how I create my color palette. I can make an ellipse tool and shift select and to be a circle press I and I choose every single color. Sometimes it doesn't work this red, maybe this 1 first. And I click on this, hold on Alt and just duplicate it. Press Command or Control D to B. So many layers. So it's simple. Click on this eye color, click on this, and make sure you select the next one. Press I, pick a color. The same thing. I press V to select this one, press, I, pick this color, press V, select this one, press I to pick this color. Now, the cool thing about this when we use two same tools, so many times, how realistic is going to remember that if your control, you can click on it now it's Eyedropper. Now you can select this yellow. If you press Control, you can select it. So it's going back to move to. Now. If you release it, it's going to come back to a driver. Just going to click on this. The same control. Select this one. Dropped automatically. Let's go back. We have a collection of colors that you see here. For this one. Press these color. Let me just zoom in one more time. Let me just put it here. Press I and maybe discolored. What about this red? I'm just going to put a new one and I'm just going to use the student. Sometimes isn't that going to get that one easily? And now let's select all the colors. Click on this little folder here in the swatches panel. Make sure convert process to global is checked and press Okay, so if we change our mind and we changed the color, will be easy to go. 20. Coloring inside the Character : Alright, now we're gonna BG. What is the background color? Is this one probably I'm just going to create your rectangle lung shift. Now. The cool part, unlocked outline, selected, select everything with clicking on this little circle here. Press Command Control C to select this circle. The BG, press Command or Control. Select the BG. Everything here is going to be selected. Alright? So we don't want this happen. Press Command or Control X. So I selected all of these one more time. Select just this color Command or Control X. Mistake, create a new layer. I'm just going to call this color palette. I'm just color. Press Command or Control F to copy in the same place. I'm just going to lock it. I don't need it. We can delete it. I'm just going to keep it for now because we already created this swatches. I'm just going to go back to BG order the process again, select the outline press Command Ctrl C to copy it, come to the BG selected. So now this is just selected. Press Command or Control F to copy in front. Now, lock the outline because this outline should be in touch. Now, again, select the PG and three minutes. The group selection tool, select outside and just click one. And here we go. And then you can select it and you can just delete it. Alright, BG, I'm just going to select this one. So let's color it. I'm just going to select this one. Alright, shift, select everything else. That should be yellow. This branch. Orange. Cool. This one should be read. All right, now we are done in this department by coloring and the BG, the simple coloring. 21. Creating Shadows and Highlights: Now, luckily BG is called the shadow lock it. Let's jump into it. But for this process, I want to make your life easier. If you go to the roster folder, you see a picture here. Just drag it and drop it here. Now, here we go. Let's go back to the first one, the one that we are already on. This go to Window, Arrange and click on tile. I'm just going to click and make this very close. I want to see my shadow, how I've done it. I'm just going to show you guys how to do your process easily. Shadow, I can eat on blob brush tool double-click. Make sure that this mode is nearly smooth. And if you use your Wacom tablet, you can always put on pressure. And number three, that's okay. When you have Blob Brush tool, you have to pick a color. So this one is already then you just draw something. Just going to automatically go on a stroke. Press Command Control Z. Now, pick a darker color. And let's, the first one we are going to do is this one. Let's go around this mouse. I'm just going to go back very slowly on that. I'm not trying to go to out. If I go out is fine to group selection. Select, delete. One more time. If I go forward this part, Group Selection, select delete one more time. And also these parts I'm trying to not do go out, but it's still if I go out, you don't have to fix the problem when we trim it would be so easy. The other part, I'm just going to change the color to this one to make it darker. Blob brush tool. And here we go. Alright, simple. Slay the inside, delete. I'm just gonna go closer. Part. Should this all on a selected, select it, delete. If you missed that out, something like this, you're missing something, you can go back on it. And this one, I'm just going to fill it myself. All right, cool. We have something here as well. Let's go back again. Press Command Z. Let's do it properly. The other port for shadows is going to be these parts. I'm going to jump into this one. Mature blob brush tool. And this one, I mean or this one? Let's see. Which one is that? Is it? This one? Yes, I guess. So. Let's try to do something like this. First. Do something like this. Group selection inside. Delete, delete. These parts. Group selection. Also have this part. Let's go for all the part first, then we're going to go back on the outer part, the second parts. These parts. I don't want to change the color. To be easy. First, the shadow one. Then we go for the second shadow. Then I'm just going to use my selection. Here we go. What about these parts? So we have something like this here. We also going around this part. I'm just going to come through here. Let me just select everything and delete, jump into it and fix this part. Here we go. We also have these lines here. To be something like this. You just follow whatever you see here. So if you go out and wouldn't be a problem, we can fix it later. So even though the hand would be easy to do, delete beautiful parts. I can see it's going to be something like go inside. Sometimes have to be closer to see what's going on. From here to the center. If I just select both of them, it's going to be just deleted, but you have to select the inside school that I'm making mistakes. So you guys can see green to be done in real life. Simplys that painting from me. Time for me. Now let's go to these parts. All right, Let's click on this one and let's go over this. Shadows. Also have to fix this following when you just use the painting. It's gonna be very easy. Most of the time I put my music on so I don't get bored. Because when you play music, when you play Hans Zimmer, like everything is possible when you're listening to this music is done. It's kind of bugging me. Do something like this. Much better. The other parts have something like this here. Fix these parts, So for me. All right. See, you guys can do anything else after dispute that this was difficult. One has to kind of shadows. It's hard to create. But I was trying to do trying to do something that after that you guys can do anything else. And that makes it easy, especially at this roster. Now this part. All right. I believe it's fine. Sometimes something like this is happening. Just click on it and just paint it over. I'm just going to get into and see if something is missing. Something has a problem. Let me just go back here. See. I believe it's fine. Brush to start from here. Just follow the lines and connect it. What else is this part as well? Is going to be something like this. This part. D squared. This switch to this one. And go around this suite. Shaded color. Select inside and delete. Nice. About this one. Let me see. Blob brush tool. Scroll back here. Pick up this 1. First. Create this part. Also we have something like this. Nice delete Blob Brush tool, make it a bit shaded color. You can just do something like this, right? That's easier. Just do that. That's it. Here we go. We go. Let's go to highlight. You can use this one if double-click on it. If you use a pressure sensitive tablet, I'm just going to use my tablet and maybe pick up these color, these color to create this on a highlight. I'm creating the highlights to make sure I'm doing the writing. Because these part has thinner and thicker. That's why I'm using my webcam tablet to create something smaller, you can use your mouse putting your problem. Two here. I'm just going to use the same thing. Then I can change it to three times. I'm just going to click on it. Select this one. Go to Select Same Fill Color. It's just going to select everything that has the same color. Now I'm just going to bring down the opacity. Now it's cool. 22. Trim and Clean the Outline Coloring: Let's go back and shadow and lock the hard light. Opened outline, select the outline. Command or control C, copy it. Select the shadow from this letter, circle here. Command or control F to copy in front. Now, locked outline. One more time, select the shadow, circle and trim it. When you trim, you can use your group selection tool. You can go inside and you can delete every single color that is out of the line. I don't need this one. Delete it, jumping into it. Select it and delete it. Jumping into it, selected and delete it. I'm looking for something that is out of the line. Something like this. Delete, select it and delete it. Something like this. Select and delete. Just going to jump into it, select and delete something like this, maybe six indeed. Everything is underwrite. Place guys, and I love it. We have done a beautiful job. 23. How to Create Gradient Background: Now let's quickly sketch. Getting on a sketch, create a new layer. Create this. Create a rectangle. Click on gradient. Make sure this is opened. Select this one, pick up a color like this. Or you have to switch when some of the cabin like this, you have to make sure you are working on field. So the fill is in front. One more time, set the gradient. This color maybe should be blue, and this color maybe it should be more bluish. So this is cyan and this is blue. That's it guys. We have created our beautiful roster. Let's say it one more time for close. Press F on your keyboard if again. So you can see from here to here it's identical and even this is much better. Let us, again, to go back. I'm just going to jump in, select this and m of this one as well. If I see anything is wrong, I'm just going to fix it. So this is the background or this is the highlight. Select this, select this part, select this one and bring it in. This is how we fixed something that is out of the line as well. Maybe this part, select and delete. Select and delete. I'm very happy with it. 24. How to Export your work as a jpg: Select, just select these parts. Make sure everything is unlocked. Unlock everything. So select it, select everything. Go to File. Export Selection. Really want to copy it. Select Folder and export assets. And that's it. It's just going to double-click here. And we are done, guys. Congratulations. 25. Tom Ink Drawing: It's time to create these Tom and Jerry, this beautiful characters. Alright, how to do it? Let's get you a fine to Tom and Jerry folder and click on Sketch that AI. When you open this up. Now I'm just going to select this and save this as Tom and Jerry final because you guys are gonna have this as a sketch for you. So I don't want to mess this up. Go to File, Save as, and I'm just saved this as final EN. For example. Now click on OK. How to start? We have a sketch file and we have our brushes. So all the brushes are here. Now let's create a new layer. Let's call this BG, BG Tom, because now you have two separate character close to each other. We have a BG photon, we have outline. In-between. We could have shadows, but really we don't have a shadow for these two characters. But if something comes up, I'm just going to create just in case shadow. Right now, like this to go to Outline Tom. And basically we always use pencil, so we just come in here. I'm just going to open this up and this will be due. All right. Go for it and we click on it. Right now. I'm just trying to be faster, be more professional. I'm just going to select this paintbrush. And I'm one of these. I'm just going to go over this. We use these little brushes to go much faster. I'm just going to continue this like this. I'm just going to select this underbrush and that's it. For this one. See this little stroke. It's just going to select this. I'm just going to make this half and I'm just going to continue. If you guys can't continue, basically, do you have to double-click on it and make sure this edit silicate pass is off. Then we're just going to go back and I'm just going to say it here exactly. That's it. So save time. I'm trying to do my best to be exactly on top of this. Let's go back. Basically. I'm just going to be something like this. And here we go. Let's do it one time. Better. Here we go. Nice. But here is the thing. This one, and this one should go back on this. So basically I have to go back and make it one or something like this. And I can continue. If you select this one, it means you can continue with the next brush stroke. Look, if you select this one, it means you have to continue with this one stroke. So I'm just going to select this. I'm just going to go with this one. The Adobe Illustrator just gonna understand it. Alright, this is going to be your stroke. See how easy is that we just paintbrush you'll live is going to be much easier and faster. So I just press Command or Control Z to go back. I'm just going to zoom in a bit. Scroll back. Nice and cool. Love it. Here we go. These two are a bit larger. So it means I can do this ds1. I'm just going to select it and make sure this is two. Same thing here. Make sure your paintbrush is selected. This is truck is going to be the same. Look. Now, I'm just going to tell it that this is drug. It should be maybe this one. I'm just going to select this one. I'm just going to continue with. This is small. What about this one? This one is going to be the stroke. This is what we do. And basically this is how we do it. Nice. You see how easy and cool is that guys. So everyone can do this. If you really, really understand the process. If the process, everything is going to be beautiful. I'm just going to go over, now, this is the trick. I'm just going to go back and I'm just gonna do this. We're just going to go over this with this brush. But this is, look, this is, this side is a thin air and it's thicker. I'm just gonna go back here. I'm just select the basic, nothing more acidic, the Basic go to stroke and make sure the corners and the caps are rounded. I'm just gonna go back. Now. Press Shift W or just compare and we too, right shift W. I'm just going to click on here, click and drag, click, select and drag. Look. That's it. I'm just going to go back here and I'm just going to put this here. So you guys already know seat one more time. I'm just going to select it and remove it. Paintbrush, let's do this thing. Selected. Initially, the basic is selected. Make sure this is on rounded. Let's go back. Shift W, key, click and drag. This is how we do it. Most of the time. If you don't know how to create something, simply, you can create it. Let's go back to your brushes. And this is how we do the rest of it. All right, Very cool. Nice. This one is thicker. So probably I'm going to select it and select this one. But for continuing, I'm just going to select this one. This one again. So it means I'm just going to continue. That is stroke. Even though I think these three beats better. Even this one. I'm just going to continue with this paintbrush. Beautiful. Nice. Let's go back and let's do it again. Because it's the mouse and it should be more accurate. Beautiful. Look at this one a year, year. I'm just going to select both of these and make sure they are smaller. The select this, I have to make this one and continue. Nice. Beautiful. Now it's the best time to listen to music, guys. I believe the music is the best thing that is going to inspire you to do a better job. I believe just setting this and make it APA smaller. It's going to be better jobs. I'm gonna select this one, continue this one. Paint brush. Here we go. When you draw, you have to know this is hand. The old should be connected. You get the idea. What I mean, because you have to paint it. So you have to try in a way that you connect this. So this is, one connection is going to be white. This is going to be in order to put up your hand. All right, you can select this one, this one, and this one, and make them smaller. I love it. Let's see. Let's go for this. Let's select this one and let's go for another paint brush. One more time. You should vary around it. That should be very cool, better. Very interesting and very easy to do. If you get bored, you can just fast forward it. But for beginner user, I'm just going to keep it this way. So most of the time when I fast forward something, there's a lot of complaint that why you did that or you fast forward. Because I think you might get bored of doing this or it's easy to do, but some of you stealing it at standard really easy. You want to follow you every single time like this. I mean, sometimes it's a bit challenging to do something which you might be right? Sometimes it is challenging. You have to select these, make these smaller. Select this. I'm just going to continue with this brush. Here we go. That's it. Have two lines here. The rest is okay. I miss one of these. You have to basically too small little line here, something like this. Just going to select it. And if you also have something else here, nice. Alright, michigan, use my pencil tool to create these. Nice. One more thing. Wasn't that good? Let's go back. Let's do it again. This time. I'm trying to be more accurate. Also have a nose. 26. Join the Lines: Now let's go inside C, everything is connected. Let's just check the ear, the left ear, so everything is cool, everything is connected. Everything is connected. In here. I want to see how it's gonna be looked like. What else should be connected. So I'm just going to switch these two. I'm just going to drag this to put it in the right side. Select this one, close this one up. Go to Window, Arrange and tile. Now, because I'm working on the tongue, let's check that out. Which part should be one connection. So this is going to be one connection. This is screaming to be one connection. So let's see if everything is connected. So this is not a connection. Startup. We're looking for something like this. Everything should be connected, everything should be aligned. It'll mess that up. Let's see, even this part. This part is a one connection. Part one connection. This parts part is one connection. I can see everything is okay. Everything is cool. I hope everything is in the right place. Maybe DS1 to fix that. Right? And the left phase. I believe everything is cool. Clothes that come here, zoom in a bit. 27. Fix the outline Problems and Coloring: So this is what we're gonna do. I'm going to open that lock, the BG term. Before that, let's go back to Outline time and select that. Select the whole thing. Just you see this sign to circle two object. If you see Expand Appearance, you have to click on it for sure. Click on it. Now. Go to Object. Let's go to pass and Outline Stroke. Now you can unite it outside. Let's go to BG. Let's come up with this color, or they have these colors. So select rectangle, draw something here, make sure you give it this color. Select the outline copied command or control C to copy it. Let's come to the bg. Command Control F to copy in front. Now, lock the outline term because we don't want to misspeak that. So make sure again, you click on BG Tom. So if you have two circle, now we can trim it. Pick up your group selection tool, select outside and leads. You messed that up. Something is missing. Let's see, what is that? Which one is there? Exactly? This one. Let's go back. The best time to fix this is go back up. Command or Control Z to go back. Go back again. You can fix that, but trust me, if you come medical chosen to go back as much better, I'm just going to come back and click on this and connect these two together. That's all. And I'm just going to try to make sure everything else is under right place. One more time. Select the outline term. Go to Object, Expand Appearance, Object, Path, Outline, Stroke. We can united. Net up. Let's go to BG rectangle. Same color. Outline term, Command or Control C to copy. Select the GIF Tom command or control F to copy in front like that. Select it and trim it. Now, let's see if we can fix that up. Select outside late. Now it's cool. I'm just going to select these ports and discover. Let's see What color is down. Let's select this part and scholar selected. So now it's connected, it doesn't really matter. It's going to be fine. We could fix it, but it's all right. So there's something that I'm just going to show you how to fix. Something is wrong with the hand. We have to fix that too. So this one can be no problem. This one can be white, no problem. Shift select and I'm just going to come inside, select inside delete, so this is going to be black. Also select the inside. Deletes going to be black. Select inside going to be black. Nice. Even these parts. I'm just going to make it black. Let's select it. Let's make it black selected. Let's make it this color. Beautiful. Colored black area. Exactly. They have the same problem. When you have a lot of problems like this, it's okay. You can fix it. So now I'm just going to try to fix it this way because we already have a lot of things and we are under the outline, so no problem. So let's fix this part. The white part. 28. Coloring the face and Toms Hand: I'm just going to go around. So I'm not going to again select outside, press blob brush tool and make sure it's white. It's now can make that bracket, right bracket around it. We can fix that later. Nice thing. When you miss that open, you just do some steak. You also can fix it, be it blob brush tool because the outline is top of this. It's easy to fix it. That's why you always keep the outline on top. So it's easy for us to paint everything under it. So very slowly, very gently. I'm trying to go around these areas, fix them. Let's select this. Alright. What about this part? I'm just a sec that black and this part, again, the same thing, guys. I'm just going to make this black look very slowly. I know it's a bit difficult to fix that or you can make your brush, if it is smaller or use really zoom in. This way is going to be easy. First, do the very close parts. Then you go back and do the rest. Is going to be much easier. Go back. This is the way that we can paint something that exhibit messy, bit hard to do. But you're going to try to line everything. At first. You don't need to go back and do the hard side. That's why I always keep asking guys, please make sure everything is properly selected and connected in drug place. You guys don't have to come back and do this way. What else do we have? And we have these parts. What is this? This part is just going to select this delete, so it's going to be worth beautiful. We have also two parts inside, which is going to be I'm just going to make that shift select yellow, the yellow. And also I'm just going to select this. Let's zoom into. This part is going to be green. Blob brush tool. Select outside, select V outside. Let's go inside. Brush Tool. Green is going to be green. I'm trying not to go inside much like this. Trying to do very slowly because this is truck is it's really a thin left bracket. You can go inside. Duties. You sway. Right bracket and larger. Going to be under the Stroke and everything is fine. This part is going to be white. I'm just going to select the white. So I should be just inside for the white. Same thing. Very gently. This part. Mouse is going to be very hard actually to do this for steel as possible. So I'm just going to select this one, delete, so going to equal. What about this part? The same thing. I'm just gonna go out. Considered outside the scope back. Blob brush tool. Typically go outside. It's going to be like this, but very gently, I'm just gonna come to here. Look, sometimes it's okay if you go inside because you don't have a choice because you want to make it perfect. You have to fix that up. I'm just going to select the blob brush tool again, make it white. Go inside. Delete. Get dark. Brush to clean that up. Coincide left bracket. Sometimes it doesn't work. You have to come in. Can be less than Let's go back and I believe I'm fine. Guys get the idea up to fix tins. Basically cleaning this black. Cleaning this part as well. As you see, it's very easy to paint. What about this part? Let me see if I can select this now. I can't. It means I have the jumping. We'd write it again. Blob brush tool is a bit larger because this part is going to be easy. This part that is not connected, this is attributes a good way. So you guys really understand how we really do it. Sometimes, sometimes you have no choice. There is a lot of his drug. The character has millions of his truck and you messed that up. Something that is not in the right place. So this is the best way to paint. Blob brush tool, Left Bracket, whites, and it's, It was easy. Now, let's go for the Jerry. 29. Jerry ink Drawing and Connections: For the jury, I'm just going to like this. Let's go up, getting your layer, double-click and put some dash here. Because when you have too many characters, you have to separate your characters. I'm just call this BG. Jerry. Also have outline. Jerry. Let's jump into the gyri. Going to open that up. I don't need that one. So I'm just going to come here and just going to close that up for now. I'm just going to select the paintbrush tool. I'm just going to select this one and paintbrush. Sure. Brushes black. And here we go. Alright, let's see. I believe it's too thick. It should be a thinner. Let's create our own. We can create a line. Select this one. Now, make sure yz half. Now, let's create new art brush. Make sure it's an tints and shades. Okay. I don't need these to delete. Is this one paint brush and let's go over it. Select this one, and this one is going to be perfect. So from now on, easy job to do. Just follow these lines and make sure they are connected. If you don't like it, you can just fast forward. It is going to be easy to the color parts because I'm just going to follow these lines. If you guys want to see it, still can see. Because sometimes that a lot of tricks that you have to use. Basically put on your music. Go over this with your mouse or your lack on tablets. Actually, I love it when you follow some lines, your minds, when anyone who wants to try color things, color book, remember, beautiful, easy to follow. That's why I love less than later. Everything is sharp. Everything is clear. If you know how to color after, you will love it, you always use Illustrator Photoshop. Because basically my main software for photo manipulation is Photoshop. But for characters, for designing something like this, I'm putting on website. There's no way you can use your Photoshop software because it's pixel-based Victor base. When you want to use it in different platform, like something like all the display vector. We don't lose quality. When peak cell use a lot of quality. That's the difference. That's why professional people use Adobe Illustrator for drawing and coloring the character. You guys know as well. Right now, you can create your own beautiful characters. From now on everything is going to be easy and simple for you guys. Just follow these steps and create your own beautiful character. Let's select this. Again. Sport. Sport. Maybe. What about these parts? Use your pencil. What I messed that up straight. So when you come back here, that's going to be as straight as well. Not going to be hard to do. All right, Another, now let's see if we are connected, then that's the important part. You guys already know. Retry. Best. If you have something like some issue like this because you see my lines are black, I don't really see it because the color of this layer is black. Just do it here and change this black color to orange. Now, have an easy life for working with this. So here, let's click on this and let's see the part that should be if the ninth. Jerry. So this part, let me check. Just close up so you can see exactly if they are really connected. Sometimes it seems the connected but they aren't. The trick is, I'm just going to select everything and just march, endpoint. The eyes. The eyes can be white. Area you see is not connected. So it means I have to connect this like this at the Connect is one more time. Right? Not connected. So just take a look at this. These two should be very close to each other. They are not means something is wrong. All right. Billy part. Connected or not connected. Better. What about the hand part? So it's firing this little part. This should be connected. These parts also be half. The rest, especially I'm talking about this part. This part is on color. This part. You have to connect, this IS bit more. And also make sure when you change that direction, make sure you didn't miss these parts. These parts should be connected. This direct part that time, cooking them out. These parts. This small little thing here that we miss, that also should be these parts. See that this is not connected. Still not. Nowadays. It's Didn't make sure when you change something. Make sure the rest of it is also connected as well. All right, cool. Everything is okay. So far, I believe these parts are located. Let's see, this is not connected. That's why when we change something, you have to go back again and we have to make sure they are all connected. We don't want to be messy like the term part. We are looking to be. Perfect. This part is okay, let me check and see. It is not connected guys. See the House Small is that you feel is connected but it is not. It's gonna be right in your coloring that I believe everything is okay. 30. Coloring Jerry: It's good to outline Jerry selected. Go to object. If you see Expand Appearance for sure we click on it first. Or equity death. Again, Object. Path, Outline, Stroke. Now I can unite it. Let me go to BG. Jerry selected the background and it's going to be discolored you all have. If it doesn't work, shift X is gonna be switched. Make none. Bring this up. Select the outline, Jerry. Come out of control C to copy it. Click on BG jury command or control F to copy in front. And that locked the outline, Jerry. Again, select it BG Jerry, and trim it. Cool. Let's go to Group Selection Tool. Select outside, delete. Inhibiting is okay, just these parts. Let me see. This is not connected. So we can go back and or we can just fix it. I believe. Let's go back. Let's go back. So everything is going to be perfect. Let me check. All right, now everything is lying. Let me see. If I click on this. I can connect this and he's gonna be much easier guys. So Selected Object, Expand Appearance, path. Alpha stroke unites BG. It's easy to color it, but it's gonna be hard to just go here with Blob Brush tool. Now I'm just going to select here Command or Control C. Click here, command or control F, like this one, selected and trim it. It's gonna be, okay. Look, though it's easy. I'm just going to select this one and color it. I'm going to select this. It shifts select and make this white. Select this, make this white select this is black. Select this out easy as that. And you know exactly what's going on. So that's why I always use this window. So, you know that window, arrange and tie. This is the trick. You have to put the original one side so you can just follow along and easily color it. I believe I can color this part as well. Let me see. If I colored this part. If I make this black, It's going to be easier. Original one that I was working on. I think it's not perfect. This is much better. This one. And this one also can be this color or maybe just this one to be defined. We can go back to the scanner. Just these parts, I believe is much better. It makes sense. So this is makes sense. All right. So we came up with a better coloring. Now, let's go forward the eyes. I'm just going to click my group selection tool. Select these two shifts electrons. You always have to remember if I select this and shift select this one. I bring the opacity down to remember F to bring back the opacity up. Sometimes we forget. Let's pick up the pencil and here we go. Back. Something like this. Let's select this one. Bring back the opacity. This one. I can say that kid back to school back and see if everything is in the right place, which it is. Alright, I love it. 31. Create Typography Tom and Jerry Fonts: So let's go back and create this one. I'm just going to copy this so you guys can see exactly what is the color. Copy this background, and select this one. Let me start at the bottom here. New color Command or Control V. Just gonna be BG. Bg, it should come down to blue DPG Tom. Just going to drag it and drop it here. It's going to be in the center. All right, Cool. What about if you want to see how we created this? Just select it, go to gradient tools and pick up the same colors. Guys, see 451231611 in the middle. This one is 15138145 and this one is also 303333. It can pick up with the same coloring, so it's easy as it is, very easy gradient. It's not a difficult one. And make sure your gradient is this one. Radial gradient. That's it. That's the whole story of BG. Let's pick up your I'm just going to go at the top. Let's open that up. The outline press T on your keyboard. And let's type Tom. Make this a bit larger. Go to your phone. Press W, Z, cot. I put this font for you guys in your folder. Fire. Just install it and turn off or close down the Adobe Illustrator and come back and open it up. And type W0 X0 cut. Just going to just pop. You're going to be term. Here is going to be Jerry. Let me show you, just gonna put it in. Bring both of them here. Zooming. Let's click on the TI, kind of hold it down and come up to this touch-type to select one of these, just click on it. If you come here, you can just rotate it. If you come here, you can rotate it as well. So drag this to left. Drag these two left, so dispose. Both of them are just working together. So just one of diem, one of them should come to the right and one of them should come to the left until you're happy with the results. The same thing with this one selected. I always work backwards. Maybe this one a bit, rotation, this one this way. And this one just come this way. Go closer to rotation of this one should be huge. This one just come back. Also. This one should be this way. Bring everything. Here we go. We do shifts at it, both of them Command or Control C, Command or Control F. So just copy in front. The front one should be.
