About This Class

Hello art friends!  In this lesson you'll learn how to draw a beautiful open rose by using a heart as your template.  "A heart?!" you exclaim.  As in life, the heart will show you the way.  Okay enough cheese.

We'll go step-by-step and breakdown the drawing into easy to follow instructions.

This is a fun and interesting class that is designed to help you create a beautiful drawing by the end of the lesson.

I'm excited to see what you can create!

1. Intro - How to Draw a Rose (Heart Technique): Hello, friends. Welcome Toe Art with Mr Noel. Let's take a look at what will be creating today will be going back to basics with pencil and paper. You'll learn how to drawn open Rose and a young rose by using the heart as a template will go step by step. Simple find process. At the end, you have created your own masterpiece. This is a fun tutorial that will help you get your drawing practicing. Sometimes we need a break from all the fancy gadgets and gizmos, So if you're ready and excited to draw, click and roll, let's get started. 2. Open Rose Tutorial: Hello, everyone to get started, gather your paper and pencil. I'm using a regular piece of computer paper and will be rotating it, so it's on the long edge. Begin the rough rose by drawing four hearts, one inside of the other. Since a rose comes from nature, we don't want to worry about creating perfectly symmetrical shapes. But we do want the hearts to be more wide instead of narrow with the hearts and place. Connect them by drawing a slightly angled line, starting with the smallest heart. Notice how the line has a very slight curve to it. That's because I'm trying to capture the delicate texture and softness of the rose petals. Next, we'll add some texture and dimension to the hearts themselves. Begin with the outer level and work your way inward. Don't worry about intersecting lines at this point. This is our rough drawing, and we'll clean it up later to break the symmetry of the heart's draw connecting line from every sharp point down across to the next closest pedal and keep in mind the curvature of the rose bud and the body. Now we want to create the outer petals to give with three simple curves around the main roads for the center curve rapid with a squashed heart. Now it looks like the pedal is coming towards you. Will add dimension to the left and right curves by drawing rounded, scraggly lines around them. This is a good time to close the center. The main roads just draw on angled and slightly curved line to the center pedal imply curvature of the pedals with some simple curved lines. Let's create the stem of the rose, begin at the bottom center of the rose with the soft triangle and taper down to the end of your page. Create a line of action for each leaf that connects to the rose and to the stunt. I like to start with a quick line to capture the energy of the moment and movement, and to avoid over designing nature, flesh out the leaves by wrapping the lines with more curved lines and with directional lines that implied them to add balance to the drawing. Place some pointy thorns along the stem. Thes air basically triangles with a sharp point. Great work, everyone. We've drawn our rough rose. Now I want to create a cleaned up drawing by using a light table and a new piece of paper, a cliff toe, hold the two pieces together and a different pencil. If you don't have a light table, don't worry. I'll share a cool trick that I learned in school. That is just a defective, and it's free for my cleanup drawing. I chose a five B pencil, which is a lead pencil with the softer tip, and I personally like the way it flows on paper. But any pencil or pen is fine as long as you can get a crisp, clean line. Did you clean up? Remember to keep only the lines that you need and remove or avoid any construction lines from the rough drawing. At this point in the process, add more details and imply more texture if you desire and also make any adjustments that you think would improve the composition. Keep in mind your organic nature of the roads as you apply the pencil to paper. Finally, don't be afraid to use the eraser and to show changing your drawing, your audience will appreciate it and find it interesting. And here we are. We created a beautiful rose with the heart is our template. Don't forget to sign your work. All right. Now, let me show you a cool and effective trick for cleaning up your drawings. You need a clean piece of paper, a binding clip or a piece of sticky tape. Roll a piece of tape and try your best to align the two pieces of paper together. Find a window with a sturdy glass that you can put some weight on and start drawing. Son provides a strong source of light. Artificial light works very well also. So there you have it, a fun and easy way to draw on open roads. It doesn't take any fancy equipment to get the job done. All you need is some paper, a pencil, something clip e, a light source and a positive attitude. Make sure to share your work in the student gallery so we can all appreciate your rose drawing. 3. Young Rose Tutorial: Hello, friends. If you're ready, let's begin drawing Ah young Rose, using the heart as our template, begin towards the top of the page with your first heart. This is where most of the drawing will take place. We want to create a main, but by drawing a pinch toe letter you it looks a bit like a large raindrop. Try to meld the two pieces together. Our next heart will run diagonally to the right. Don't be afraid to draw guidelines. The third heart will point in the opposite direction. Finally, add one teensy tiny heart in the center. Now we want to continue the flow of lines to give the semblance of rose petals from there at a rugged edge to the outside curves of the heart. - When I draw, I try to feel the curvature or surface of the object and carve it out on the page. Sometimes it works, and other times it's just me scribbling all over the paper for the stent. Try to create a natural extension from the bud and then give it a good break toe had some visual interest. Let's draw the leaves connecting the bud to the step at the stems break. Let's broke three leaves. - If you're happy with your drawing, you can move on to cleaning it up. This time I'm using an inking marker with a thin point for cleanup. Here, you can add your own embellishments and make your room. - There you go. Friends. We created a young rose. Using the heart is our template. Don't forget to share your drawings in the student gallery.
