1. Course Promo: Hi, I'm Alex dummy Drew. I'm an entrepreneur and I've been building online shops since 2008. I enjoy creating new products and business models that are sustainable and profitable. In my 12 years journey, I've successfully sold online from make-up to digital services, digital products. But also why? I believe that entrepreneurship is the path to freedom. And opening an online store is a great way to start. Nowadays, offering an optimum e-commerce experience and having a flexible e-commerce platform is a must-have for e-commerce success. Woo Commerce is the perfect start to this incredible journey. Join me and together in this course we will build an online shop from start to finish without hold or programming, you will learn about hosting and domains. We will install Wordpress and newcomers, and we will play with templates and customize them to look the way you want. You will then learn to create different types of products, categories, and the attributes. We will set up the navigation menu, create new pages, and use widgets. We will also set up taxes, shipping, and read discount codes for your marketing campaigns. We will then discuss what happens when orders come in reports and we will add Google Analytics to understand our visitors. The improve our shop based on data, not guesses. At the end of this course, you will have all the tools you need to start a successful online shop and sell your products or services even while we sleep. For this course, you will only need a computer and an internet connection. Nothing more. This course is for you if you want to start a small business or a side hustle, let's start now. 2. This is What are We Going to Build: Hello and welcome. In this lesson, I'm going to show you what we're going to build in the next few hours. This is the store we're going to build. It's called Alex's gift And it looks like this. If you're ready, we can start now. 3. Domain Names and Web Hosting: Hello and welcome back. In this lesson, I want to talk about domain names and hosting. To start your story, you're going to need both of these. So let's start with the domain names because it's the first time you are doing this, or I guess so. Don't spend too much time on figuring out what's the perfect domain. Figure out what do you want to sell and think about something that's short and that's available. domain is best, but if you or dot co, those will work as well, so don't worry about it. So my first recommendation is go to named Chip that come and register a domain name. I don't know. Let's see, Alex, I wanna sell gifts. So Alex, Alex gift shop, gift So there you go. I can have this domain, Alex gift for 888 per year. I added to my cart one-year registration. If I go to check out, you don't need anything else than this. I have a one-year subscription to the WHO is Garden lift. This enabled. It's useful. It's some sort of privacy protection service, so it doesn't cost you anything. Nows, living like that. I can confirm the order. I have other domain names hosted with named chips, so I can go ahead and just pay, pay for this domain right now. And when he comes to hosting here is a bit more trickier. Because if it just start a regular blog, ok, so we are using WordPress, that's a CMS for blogging. But on top of that, we're having these really amazing plugin, that's Woo Commerce and that transfers, that transforms actually our blog, our CMS, into real Store. Woo Commerce. It's very powerful, but it also needs a lot more resources than just just the regular blog type of website we usually see. And for that, we really need the better hosting account. Okay, moving on to hosting. I said that we need a fast hosting account. Most of the hosting companies offer WordPress hosting, but again, working with Woo Commerce, it's a bit different. So my recommendation is, and this is going to be in the lesson notes as well. I'm going to send you the link there is, one of them is liquid web and the other is nexus. The pricing is really great. Starts at nine a month at this moment. But I don't think they're going to change it because really it's it's really awesome. Managed dedicated hosting for Woo Commerce. And the other one is liquid web-based, actually nexus now it's owned by liquid web. This is also a great company to start with. The pricing is pretty similar. So this is 19 a month, but you get some couple of things extras. So, and if our store grows, we can grow within these plans fairly easy without having the need to move our entire web, website, another company. And again, you can go to blue host or you can go to either no, companies like this one. But the performance of your website is crucial when selling things online. Every second that your website is delayed, loading is going to cost you money. Especially on mobile, where lots of lots of transactions are made now on mobiles. So you want to have the fastest website possible. So there are companies where you're not going to pay nine a month, like we are seeing here. Probably you're gonna pay three for $5 a month or maybe you are going to get, I don't know, for $30.1 year. But my advice is to go for a monthly plan with one of these companies. Again, I'm going to give you the links below, and it's also very easy to set up. In the next lesson, I'm going to show you how we can install WordPress on different platforms. One of them will be this one I'm going to show you again how to set up email accounts. And also via cPanel is well, because these companies don't have cPanel, that's an advantage from my point of view because cPanel actually makes, consumes much more resources on the server and this company is don't use it because of that. So you need the lightest website to go as fast as possible. See in the next lesson. And thank you. 4. DNS Changes Namecheap: Hey, welcome back. My hosting account is now registered. And all I need to do now is to read, read my domain to my new hosting account. How do I do that is by changing my domain name servers. And this will help point my domain directly to this hosting account. Where do I find my domain name servers is right here, go to DNS and we see them here. So N S1, that next In this case, for the most hosting companies, you're going to receive this information in your welcome email. This along with all the information you need to properly run your new website. But I was already in my panel here on Nexus and it was easier to grab this. So I copy this. I go to name chip or whatever register you used to register your domain name. I go to domain lives list. I click on my domain name. And here I can change my name servers right here. Now I see here named Chip basic DNS. I click on it and choose custom DNS. I paste. I'm only seeing two options, but I need four. So I'm adding one to now have four, yeah. And S3 and NS for I Click on Save. It takes a bit. I usually this change dates from humanities to a few hours. Okay. So it tells me that up to 48 hours. But my experience tells me that it's not going to take 48 hours, is going to be much less than the. See you in the next lesson and thank you. 5. DNS Changes Godaddy: So Hey, welcome back. In this lesson, we're going to see how we can change the DNS servers for Go Daddy. So you sign up with Go Daddy for domain. And now you want to, you want to redirect your domain name to the hosting account. How do we do that? We just go need to go to manage domains. I click on one domain name. Then then I'm scrolling down. And here additional settings I see here manage DNS. So all I have to do now is click on using custom name servers. Could change. Yes, I'll use my own servers. And here I'll type my or copy paste my name servers. I click Save. And now your DNS servers are changed and it will take a few hours for the name to be reaching your hosting account and to probably displayed. Thank you and see you in the next lesson. 6. Create Email Accounts: While waiting for our domain to redirect to this hosting account, we can start creating our email accounts. So I can just add, we're going to create sales at my domain name, yes, so Alex's gift shop. And I'm going to add also support because I'm gonna need that. So that said, I have. So, so far I've directed my domain to my new hosting account, and I have created my two email addresses. Going back here, we can do it in C panel like this. Go to email accounts. Create, choosing again my domain name here. Contact. Generate. All writes, 100 megabytes. It should be enough. Create normally, remember to keep your password safe. So yeah, I've created this contact that Alex gift in cPanel. That's about here. If you're using this one, we're gonna go back four different stuff. We, if we need it. In the next lesson, we're gonna learn about commerce, how to set it up, how to install it in both these phantom and also cPanel. It's really easy to do it if you chose to work on your local computer. We're going to do that as well, because it's really, really easy. And from now on we're gonna work mostly in the Wordpress admin panel. So thank you very much for staying with me and see you in the next lesson. Js. 7. Install WordPress in Cpanel: Hello and welcome back. This is the cPanel. In case you already have a hosting account and you want to use that, you can do it. What do you need do is to scroll. We're seeing it here. Click on WordPress. Are sometimes, maybe this doesn't show up and you can just go directly to blogs. Click on WordPress because this is where interested in where chosing the latest release of WordPress. And I'm gonna choose my domain name. So I'll access gift Sometimes, depending on the cPanel version, you're gonna see this here. So it tries to install WordPress sinner directory. We don't want that. We want to delete this. We want the WordPress installation to happen in the root domain. A few options here, we can change if you want to a site name, SMI blog, site description, we can put here whatever we want. Enabled multi-site. No, we don't want that. A few words about this area. Admin, username. We are seeing here that the default username is admin. I would highly advise to change this to something else, like something global blind the number or but don't leave it as that mean, it's way easier for your website to be hacked. Because the hacker will work a lot less. If he already knows the admin username is admin password. We can generate this random password. Now it says just strong CCR5 out of a 100. If we add more, that there's some numbers or even assign. Like thought. And there are our email here. English. We're not interested in the other options. And we just click Install. And it takes just a few seconds for our WordPress install to happen. It shows us the administrative URL. But as we're not, I'm not actually using this hosting account to who's my new website. This is irrelevant now, but normally you just go click on it and you'll be logged in. Remember to copy and pay to save your password if you're not using a password manager, I highly advise you to do so. It's really helpful and it will save you both fine. And a lot of headaches. See you in the next lesson and thank you. 8. Install WordPress on Your Computer: Hello and welcome back. In this lesson, I want to show you how we're going to install WordPress on our computer without needing a domain name or hosting account. What we need to do is go to local and download the software. This is going to help us install our Wordpress environment directly on our computer. So I'm on now, Mac now, but this is going to be the same on Windows as well. So don't worry about that. I'm going to save. This is basically going to help us play around with WordPress, with plugins, and also get familiar with the, with the Wordpress environment. And it's also faster because we don't need to buy the domain, we don't need to set up the hosting account. So we just gonna install this right now, copied into my applications folder. And that's it. I should be able to launch this and start setting up my first WordPress environmental, my computer. Yes, so I don't need to see this. I see this. I already here have a couple of websites that they did before. So what let's do an another one, Su Wu store. I don't need to check out the advanced options. Some actually, again, copy this already. Continue. Default settings. When your username is gonna be LAX. My best, we're just going to be parallel excuse. And this is going to start right the way thinks a bit installed the WordPress, it does this by default. Okay, awesome. So now my new Wordpress site is installed. If I want to go to the local website and just copy this. And voila minute where beside these installed on my computer and now I can go to WP admin. My user name is Alex. Alex login. And that's it. Now I can go install my plug-in if I wanted to do basically anything go we'll do on my hosting account, those we'll see in the next lesson. And thank you. 9. Install WooCommerce: Hello and welcome back. And now I want to go to plugins. I see I already have a few plug-ins here, but commerce is not one of them because I deleted earlier because this hosting account came with the M-commerce already installed. So I'm going to install it again, add new. It suggests this this panel already shows me a few plug-ins that I should install. This is optional, you don't need to install anything. We're going to just search for e-commerce install. Now. It's installed and I'm going to activate the plugin. So I'm now I'm seeing this wizard that I am going to use. Yes, please. So my address is why add this one? I'm going to unite the kingdom. City of London. I'm gonna continue. You can try this if you want. I'm going to say no. In which industry does your store operate? I'm going to show I'm going to use fashion apparel and accessories. You don't have to do it if you don't want to. Yes, I'm going to sell physical products. And now I'm seeing other options here. I'm seeing downloads. Yes, because I want to set a downloadable product as well. I'm seeing subscriptions here. These are bade options, actually bade plugins that you can use to create different kinds of websites. So subscriptions, we have memberships, we have bookings, we have bundles and customizable products. These are all paid options that we're going to take care of this bit later. Continue. How many products do you plan to display? Either long, we'll see 11 to a 100 currently selling elsewhere. No. And now I'm seeing these other options. These are as well plug-ins. I don't want to install them. No, no, no. Gunna say there are other better options for these plugins. So I'm almost done. Choose a theme. I'm going to continue with my active theme, Astra. Another is here, all teams. Yep, paid themes. So these are options from m-commerce directly. Prices are per year. This is in order to get updates. Yeah. We have a free tool, free themes. Actually, we have the storefront, boutique and Delhi. And it tells us that we can upload our theme as well. But let's continue with my active team. Enhance your store with jet back m-commerce services? Not at this point. I feel that jet back and this other stuff, it's making the website that beat the slower. And we don't need it right away. So I'm going to say no thanks. We can install stuff like this leader. So I'm showing now this guide will come to your Woo Commerce stores online headquarters. Next. Next, let's go. Now I can add products, setup payments, setup, tax setup, shipping, and also personalize the store. And we're gonna do all this in a few minutes. We have some tips. We can dismiss all this right now. A quick overview of this. We're going to show orders here. We have None at the moment. These are reports about customers and we're going to see a list of customers here. Coupons, we can create our coupons right away. It tells me something that in this new version of commerce, coupon management has moved. Okay, removal, you see legacy. And we're going to see it here in the marketing section. Let's go back. We're going to have reports. At the moment. We're not seeing any sales because we haven't generated any c in the next lesson. And thank you. 10. WooCommerce Setup: Hello and welcome back. Let's go a bit over the settings of Woo Commerce. So the store address, I have it here. A selling locations, selling to all countries. If I want to sell worldwide or maybe I want to sell just to a couple of countries. Alone will choose Cell to specific countries. And I'm gonna choose united Kingdom, Ireland. And that's shipped to all countries you sell two years. Default customer location should base address. We have different options here. No location by default and it's not gone on the checkout page is not gonna show anything. We'll go back. We'll go there as well. Shop base. So United Kingdom and geolocate where if we were to chose, for example, cell to all countries, we could locate the customer automatically. And if the customer will do come from the United States, it would've showed on the checkout page The United States country enabled tax rates and calculations. Yes. I'm gonna use that enable the use of coupon cause yes. This one. No, I'm not going to enable this. And I would suggest you don't. Currency, you can choose here the currency you're using are the moment is pound sterling, You can choose euro, you can choose United States dollars, or whatever currency you're selling. Let's go to products now. Okay, I didn't save my options because I made a few changes here. Call it saved products. The shop page, this is automatically installed when we go to the wizard Add to Cart behavior. So what happens when a customer clicks the Add to Cart button? It can write re-direct card page after a successful edition. So if everything is okay to the product, it will go to the current page. Enable objects, we can leave this as is placeholder image in case we are having a products with no image measurements. These are in metric system where you can choose imperial as well. So we see grams, meters, inches, yards enable reviews. Yes, I want to have reviews on my store so customers can live. Hopefully positive reviews. I show verified owner label on customer reviews, yes, because this is going to show that the real customer plays that review is not something random, enables star ratings and reviews. Yes, I want to have that as well. Inventory. We have enabled stock management by default, hold stock minutes, 60 minutes. So if we are selling either no mugs and we have only 30 marks on sale, we can add on the product page, the stop. We have. How many minutes in case the order is not paid, how many minutes will the stock when this limit is reached, the pending order will be cancel. These are notifications for us and is gonna tell us when the product is low stock. My email address here, low stock threshold is going to show on the product page how many items are left out of stock, 0 out of stock visibility. If you want to hide the items that are no longer in stock. Stock display format always show quantity remaining start. We can either enable this or not, or we can show, for example, the lowest low stock thresholds. So only two in stock. Well, it doesn't display anything, never show quantity remaining in stock. Downloadable products. A few options here. File download method for us downloads. These are a little bit technical. We know we're not gonna go into that. Downloads require login, grant access, a downloadable rural products after payment, yes. And we're going to leave this as it is taxes. Depending on the country you're in or your companies in. We're going to have different options here. Was standard rates, reduce rates, rates. You can import the rates here if you go to go to Google and search for commerce, decks rates, CSV 2020. We should have a link, this one, setting up taxes in e-commerce. And you're gonna see here a lot more details about the taxes. So please do read how to set up your taxes so you don't have to. You will make mistakes. Your accountant might not like it. So download the sample rates, tax rates, CSV here. That's for us, but you get the point. We can go and import csv, browse, namenodes here, upload file and import tax rates. So basically it ok, so all the US. Tax rates for each state, all 50 states. We're not going to use this because each one of you have to set their own taxes. Shipping. We can add the shipping zone. Zone one island. United Kingdom. Shipping methods are the shipping method, flat rate. The cost. I will just add five. So five pounds no matter where I am going to ship. These again, are different options that you have to set. Lets go to payments. So we can have some default payments. Direct Bank, cod, I'm going to enable this one. Save changes. You can install many payment options via, via plugins. I'm gonna show you right away. So PayPal standards, you can use it. Ray right away. That's not my PayPal address, but it already filled it in. I suggest you install your, you enter your API credentials here. You're gonna find, find it in your PayPal account is going to help you with in case of refunds and payments as well. So payments, if we want to add more payment options, for example, I want to add stripe, Woo Commerce, striped payment gateway and install and activate. And if I go back, I go to commerce, I go to settings, I go to payments. And we're going to see here a list of stripe options, because stripe can accept other options as well for Europe, like your geo pay so forth. But the one we're interested in is this one stripe credit card. And if we click on it, we can enable it. We have a test mode. Stripe is really a great way to accept credit cards. You just go here and you can register directly on your account, verified and then go back and and there you're this is now on test mode. And if you can see it as published t And if we disable it live publishable key. Okay, moving on, accounts where leaving this base width not save guest checkout. Yes. I want to allow customers to place orders without an account. Yes. I want to allow customers to login. An existing account during the checkout phase, account creation allow customers to create an account during checkout? Yes, because hopefully I'll have recurring customers and allow customers to create an account on the my account page, yes, someone does as well. Different options for privacy. Personal data retention. We're not gonna go through this right now. It depends on your location as well. Emails. Where will I receive my emails? These are all enabled new order. So every time we're unordered comes in, I can be will receive an email about that, about canceled orders, failed orders on hold processing completed. If I don't want to receive when you order, I'm just going to disable it. Gonna go. Please save. And that's it going back. And now I'm not going to receive new orders. This is for the customers as well. You can see here on this column, we should change the from address to info. I don't have a logo yet. We can change the footer text so width will commerce or save changes. Okay, next, panel integration, maximized geolocation. It's something that we discussed when I told you about this option default customer location. If we're seeing this one, I don't know why this pops up. So geo-locate, if we're using geo-locate, we're gonna need to sign up for an account with Max Mind and get a license from them is free. We don't have to pay it, but commerce doesn't include this anymore. It used to do to include it but no longer. So advanced. We have different options here. Page setup, we already have the pages because when commerce installed, it created this pages by default. So Cart Checkout and my account terms and conditions, we have to create this by yourself. Checkout ten points that I would leave this by default, you don't have to change here anything. The API, different plugins or services connected, commerce, we're going to use this. And we can add the key that we can then pass to our software or plug-in feature, we can add web hooks, does different things. If we have on Woo Commerce account that come, newcomers that come account, sorry, we can connect that and use it here. The homeschooling is this one here. We can enable it or disable it will, it will leave it like that for now. So that was a quick overview of the Woo Commerce settings. I'm going to see you next in the next lesson to have a look at Themes, Install, great plugin, and start setting up our new website. Thank you and see you in the next lesson. 11. Install a Theme: Hello and welcome back. In this lesson, we're gonna learn how to install Woo Commerce. We're going to talk a bit about the themes and also plugins the WordPress. Cms is very rich and has a ton, a ton of features that you can use. You can transform it in almost any kind of website if you would like that. But now what we're trying to do is create a store. So in order to do that, we're gonna work with themes. So the themes are templates that we're going to use and we're going to also use plug-ins. Will commerce x actually is o WordPress plug-in. But it's very reaching future features and also can be a bit overwhelming with the things it can do. There are tons of add-on plug-ins to the Woo Commerce. One, and we're going to install a few to create our website. The theme we're going to use, it's this one, Astra. But I'm going to delete it now because I wanted to I want to I want to show you how it's installed. So first of all, how do we add themes? So we go to Appearance teams. We will already see this default ones that are installed. And if we go to our homepage, we're going to see something like this. Hello World, welcome to WordPress. This is your first post. Now to Avenue theme. We can go here, add a new theme. And we're already seeing a lot of options here. Many of these might be suitable for store. But we're gonna go back to Astra because that's the easiest one and it has some interesting features. I will show you a bit later. There is also the option to upload a theme if you want. But say you bought a theme from places like Tim forest. You can directly uploaded from your computer here. We're not gonna do this now. We're going to search for hasta. Oh sorry. And we're going to click Install and then activate. So that's great. Our new theme's installed and everything is in order. See you in the next lesson and thank you. 12. Install Astra Theme Templates: Hey, and welcome back. In this lesson, I'm going to try and set up our new website. Our Astra Theme is installed, but we don't have any options. We don't have any products. We're gonna install an Astra add-on plugin that is going to help us create really quickly a beautiful website that we just can add it and make it our own. So to do that, I'm gonna go to Plugins, Add New classic editor. Yes, I want to install this because the current editor is a bit complex. And I'm gonna go here and just write Astra. And we're seeing here starter templates, elemental, Beaver Builder, Gutenberg, and breezy template. I'm gonna install now. Activate. I already did, yes. So now we're going to appearance started template. I'm gonna select my page builder. And I really like this one element or the first one. You can play around with the others. But for this course we're going to use element or click on it. And now as rides, displaying me a list of great templates to choose from. I don't have access to all of them because this is the free option. I'm going to go here and go No, choose e-commerce. And again, I'm gonna choose free. So these are the options I have now to create my website, e-commerce themes. So I have this organic store, I have this brand store, that's some sort of clothing store. We have this one plants, we have beauty. This one looks great as well. If you're doing print on demand, this is a great, a great starter theme. And this one is for a freelance artist. So if you're a freelancer, you can use this one as a starting point. Because I choose clothing. When I set up the commerce plug-in, I'm going to either choose this one or yeah, let's go with the brand store. So click, I clicked on it. I'm seeing the templates here. So we have the home template we have on about and contact us. And I'm going to click here Import complete site. I'll leave all the options like they are, and I'm going to click Import. And now some magic happens and plugins and the content is installed on my WordPress website. It's going to import products as well with images. And it's going to look exactly how that template shows here. Depending on your hosting account or how you set it up. It takes probably a minute and you're about done. Okay, array, the website imported successfully. Let's view our website and opens a new page. And we have a store. And all I have to do now is customize it. I have some products that I can work with. This is my store page. I can search it here. I have three categories. If I click on one of them, is gonna show me the products. In that category. If I click on the product, we have a nice layout. Simple footer as well. We have a contact us page and we also have the account page About page and this is one. So this is how you are going to use Astra and free Astro templates to install on e-commerce theme. Really quickly. We're going to add this and add a few options to it right away. Thank you and see you in the next lesson. 13. Customize Theme with Elementor Part 1: Hello and welcome back. In the last lesson, we installed the Astra team and one of its pre-made templates. Now I'm going to the trends show you quickly how you can edit different sections of the template to make it your own. We're going to start with the homepage. And there are a lot of options here. We have these big head, there are buttons here, this intro here. We have some logos sections with images and buttons as well. Our list of products. We're seeing gear feature products. Another banner here that promotes our limited time offer special edition, some benefits. And of course, the footer. Earlier, I told you that we install this theme. It installed also elemental. So on every page we can see here, if we go to edit with documenter, the elementary editor is going to load and is gonna let us edit our page. So the first one we can see here is this headline reigning offers. We just click on it. Or we can use this one. Edit heading. And raining offers for hot bottom. Okay, 25% of all products. Let's say we're gonna give thirty-five percent. We have a button, we click on it. And we're not seeing a link here, but we can add our own link store. It says Shop Now, I'm gonna change it to by now. So there are a ton of things that you can edit this button. We can even add an icon mass. So if we click on it, we're going to see a list of icon sets for Font Awesome. It's really great set of icons and defining shows. Searching for cat. I'm gonna choose this one. Insert. And you already see that the icon is added here. A size extra large, but this doesn't lead me. Let's see how big column with 30%. If I go with so 35% of the width of this box here. If I click on this one, let's see what does it say? It says 65, so, so 6635%. We've added a little icon. We change the link of the button. And if we click Update View page, let's see what happens by now. And it takes me to the store page. So it's that simple. Let's try and edit another section. For example, if we want to edit again this large image here, we click edit with elementary. So we're seeing that this is part of a really large section, which should be here and style. So this is the layout of the entire section of this header area. And I'm going to style, and I'm seeing the image here. And I can choose another image if I want. We're seeing this option for images from Pixabay. If we search for fashion, for example, let's see what. Maybe we can use this one. Insert, save and insert. And that's it. We click on update. And our main image is now changed. Of course we can upload our own images where senior the media library, what we already have in our library. Other images that can be used. But if you look here, 700 or 700 pixels, this is, it has to be really large. This one is way larger. And if we want to upload something that we over the already downloaded on our computer, we're going to use the Upload Files option. Let's go back. So now we are having an image carousel here. We can add or remove. I'm going to remove this one. And that's it. Instead of five now we are only having four. Update. This one here. Again. The style, the layout. Again, I did the 20% off on top, tank tops. I'm gonna click Update. And let's say that this one as well, more shoes, feature products. We're seeing here that the feature products are created with a short code. We're gonna go through that as well a bit later. We can edit this. How many columns we're seeing now are seeing maybe we want four columns and we want to products. So simple as that. Here in this section where we have these benefits and features, Josie image. We can change the images we're seeing here. And the footer at this moment is not editable with this. On the, on this panel. We're going to update. I'm going to click here to view page. My options were updated so the changes I made are now visible on the website. And if we go here to edit with elemental, we're seeing this option footer. If I click here, voila, I'm seeing the links. Again, added them. Quick links home about my account cut for her and seeing categories. There are no links. These need to be changed because they don't go anywhere. Here we're seeing the sign here. If we have an app, we can add an image, chosen image. So copyright. This is a short code that shows the current year, so you don't have to change it every time. The site title. And I can add all rights reserved. Pump, I click on update and view page. And it takes me here, but that's not okay with delete that. We go again to the homepage. See you in the next lesson EN Thank you. 14. Customize Theme with Elementor Part 2: Hello and welcome back to about page. Basically is basically the same thing. Add it with the elemental. We're going to see different kinds of options and blocks that are editable, waiting for it to load lots of images. Again, if we go here we go to style. We can edit the large image in the header. This section as well. Who we are, this Lorem Ipsum. If you want to add a new section, for example, we can go clicking on this. And here we can see different blocks we can add to any page we added with element there. These are the three options here. And we're seeing uv, we buy the Pro version of elemental. We have other options. We will have other options enabled, but we don't have that. General. These are enabled. Let's see if we go to header and footer blocks. These are already created. If we go to commerce, we're seeing these are for the pro version as well. Let's see. We go what we find in the site pro version as well. The WordPress blocks are enabled. And these are product categories, filter products may press. These are widgets that we can end. Maybe we should add here something. Let's go to or heading. The heading here at your heading tags here. Now I want to center it and I want to make it an age one. So really, really big update. And that's about it. It's really, really simple to edit and add new stuff with the element or page builder. You have this follow us, icons, Facebook, And now it's gonna take us to Facebook. For Facebook account, we can even remove g plus. Google Plus is no longer with us if I can say so. Remove it, update. I go back to view page. My heading is here. And also the link to We're not interested in that. I removed the icon. See you in the next lesson and thank you. 15. Customize Theme with Elementor Part 3: Hello and welcome back to the contact us page. We're seeing a form here that is created with this plugin w forms. We're seeing it here. I'm not particularly fond of this plug-in and then we'll install another one. And it will tell a mentor. Again, we can edit this section right away. Click on it. Just say Hi. This is an HTML kind of editor. So it supports the HTML as well if you want to do that. And you can use the HTML here. So you go to text instead of visual. Of course, the visual option, it's way, way easier. For example, if I want to add the link to this one and just click here. And they'll say email to info I'll update you page. And this is the link. If someone clicks on it, they will, it will open the email software and there'll be able to email us directly. So that's about it with editing the website with element there, we've learned how to change a few images, how to add an icon to buttons, how to add links. We can add different sections like head, there's maybe more products, may be different options on the page that we want to display. Thank you very much for watching this, and I'll see you in the next lesson. Cheers, bye. 16. Using WordPress Customizer part 1: Hello and welcome back. In this lesson, we're going to customize a bit the website, make a few changes and to basically make it more of our own. When you login to your WordPress admin, you're going to go to the homepage. You're gonna see this link, customized cook on it. And now we're going to see a lot of little options that we can edit and change different things to our website. Let's go through each one and see what we can change. What happens. So if we go to global, we're going to see typography based topography. Basically here we can change the way our phones look. It has Google fonts integrated, and I think there are around 100 font. Now we have Leto. Basically the fonts here look very good. We like it. The size 15 maybe if we can make it even bigger, 16. And the changes are instantly the weight of the font. Maybe want to make it thinner or Boulder. Baby want to use all uppercase. Let's see what happens. So now all the product titles are uppercase. Leave the size, default, line-height, paragraph, margin bottom. So different options for our topography to make it look even better. We have the headings option. Again, the same kind of settings we're seeing here, that the weight is bold. Text transform again. If we change to uppercase, let's see what happens. So yeah, it changed the size, make it bigger or smaller depending on what we want. We publish, and this is how the changes will save. We have now color base colors, the text color, the theme color, link color, link hover color. So depending on the links where we are, this can change the background. We can add a background image if we want that. Moving on the container is the width of our web site at the moment is 1000 pixels. The layout is boxed. Different options here, the page layout, the blog layout. We don't have a blog late, but we can add one if we want. And then the Woo Commerce layout, full width contained. You can play around with this as much as you want. The color of our buttons, border topography, if we want to change the font. This is interesting here, the site identity. So now we have a default logo. But I can, I want to change this. So I want to change logo, were having different logo for retina devices, different logo for mobile devices. If we want to change that, the logo width, let's change this one. And where here I've downloaded transparent logo. So t-shirt store. This is very large, but it asks if I want to crop it. No, I don't skip cropping. So it doesn't look that bad. Maybe I want to make it a bit wider. A 170, icky click publish, and it's saved. Let's go to our home screen because I think here we're gonna have a little issue. Yes. Because on this page we are having the transparent header. And if we go to pages, this is our front page, we click added. We have different options here. If you see no Sidebar, full width, design, disabled title, disable featured image, and we're seeing transparent header here that's enabled. We can disable it if we want, but it won't look as nice as this one. So you see the image goes through, the header, looks really nice. What I can do is disable this. Let's see what happens. And I'm seeing my new logo here. I can edit the header as well. So what we're seeing here, the layout is the logo and the menu. On the right. I can select the logo in the center and it goes down. Or logo in the right. Are going to leave it default. The width now is, as you can see, it's not full width, it's the it's contained. And if I wanted to make it full width. And here we go. I'll put this back. We can edit as well, the mobile version. So if we click here, it's going to look something like this. It more and mobile won't be really like that, but you have to check on your phone as well when you're editing this stuff because you don't want to mess things up. The menu. We're seeing this one here and we have a few options. The last item in menu commerce, and we're having the mini cart. And yes, I want to have that there. The other options are none. Then this is gonna go away. Yeah, we have a search. If we want to add that. Really we like this. Maybe we want to add a button here. We're seeing it there. For now. There is also an option to add widgets, but for now we're going to leave it like this. Who commerce? I like it like that. 17. Using WordPress Customizer part 1: Let's see what we have next, the transparent header I showed you earlier. We can enable it on all the pages, but we don't want that. The homepage looks great like that. The rest might not be so nice. Breadcrumbs. Let's see what happens here. So we see it here. We don't want that, at least not on this theme, but depending on how you're customizing the website, you might want that the blog. We don't have a blog, but let's, let me show you how you can do that. So we go to pages. We add a new page. We call this blog. We live everything as it is. We go to publish. And now we go to Settings, go to reading. And you see here we select block save changes. And now we can go to Appearance. We go to menus. And we see here are my main menu. We can have multiple menus. We can create a new one if we want. Let's customize this one a bit. So I want these to be under the stored these links, the men and women categories. If you don't see your product categories here, you can enable it from this option, the screen options. So as you can see, it shows here. Great. And I want to add my blog page here as well. So I'm most recent, but I view all click add to menu. And I'm going to add it just before the Contact Us here. Save. Now if we open the website. Voila, we have this here, sub-menu, and we have the blog here. And we have a sample page, sample post, helloworld. Let's see if we can edit something here. Blogger, HIV, we have different options. What does, what does show the Met options, published date tags, and the single post as well. Different options that we can enable or disable featured image or not. The title and blog Mehta topography as well. Moving on. Sidebars. We can have different sidebars. At the moment for Woo Commerce, we're having a sidebar, but we don't have one for the products actually is enabled, but let's see what happens. So no sidebar. Or with the left sidebar, for example. We're going to leave it with no Sidebar. Our store has a sidebar and we can change that right away. The footer, if we have at the moment where have the custom footer, This one is not working. We can enable that. If we want to do that, we need to go to our elementary edit footer. So here from settings we see here is published. And if we click on draft, clique here, save draft. And now we go back to our customizer and click here. And let's see what happened. We're seeing the footer widget area 1234, and here we already have a text. We go to Bob leash. That's about eight on this section. Woo Commerce, we can have this thing, store notice, enable the store notice. And let's see what happens. It displays this thing, were not interested in it and I don't recommend you using it. The shop page display. So this this page here, different options to show categories and products as well. On the category pages are how are our products sorted? Most reached, most recent, or maybe we want to show the most popular ones here. So the most sales shop columns we can have, or maybe we want just to and display the products bigger. Or maybe we want four of them. We can click publish to save it. If we go on single products, we're seeing these bread crumbs here, we can disable it. And now it looks much cleaner. But I would say to leave it on because it helps with SEO. And it also, it's a good usability trick. It may settings depending on what you're selling, how you want your images to look like. So we can edit the width of this image or the thumbnails. How did they crop into squares or custom? Or maybe we want to leave them bankrupt. Depends on how you want to do it. The cart, we go to cart. And we're seeing here only one option enabled cross Hills, which is this one here. And if we disable it, it goes away. But I want to leave it on the checkout page. It's going to load different options, Company Name field, maybe I wanted hidden because I don't want to sell to companies. The address line two field, this one here. Maybe I want to make it required. The form field is required because okay. I needed to I need to call my customers and building different things. Privacy policy terms and conditions page, we have none set now. And that's about it. There are a lot of options to go through. Some you want to edit and some you don't. We're seeing here more options available in Astra Pro. I think for the start, it's enough to make your story your own, even if you start with a template that comes from astra, can change a lot of things. And that's about it for this lesson. Thank you very much. See you in the next lesson. 18. Plugins: Hello and welcome back. In this lesson, I want to install a few plug-ins to make my website be different at a bit of security and a few other fun things. I go to Plugins, Add New. I want, let's say I want to make my website more so friendly. Number of plugins that R four, so our a lot. And if you click on, we search for SEO. We're seeing a ton and ton of plugins. The one that I like the most is this one rant, but I think it has many features and really works well, even has features that other plugins you need to pay for. This case is not. You're getting them for free. So I activate I don't have a rank my math account. I'm going to skip this for now. I'm gonna go with the easy one in this wizard. So start wizard. I don't have any other. So now I'm going to disable this. Skip don't import. Yes, this is a web shop. I have multiple options here, but this is a webshop. I do have an organization, company name, the logo. So this is everything is OK. Google Search Console. I don't have that right now. I don't want to set it up. Maybe later our site is ready. So return to the dashboard. And now we're seeing a lot of options. You can edit this. If you're selling locally, this is great because it's going to help you with SEO. Robot Mehta. Anyway. At the moment you can leave it as it is because it's going to add some things by default. And if we go to products, we're going have this rich snippets that they're gonna display nicely in the Google search result if we go to products. So let's click on this one. We are already seeing options here. The focus keyword probably I should add here, T-Shirt, for example. Ok, we're seeing, we can edit the snippet, maybe add more, add or remove. Things changed the permanent added description. This is very important. So for every product you add, you should have a proper SEO description. Don't let Google the acid. If you just added here, is not going to be enough. You have to added as well here. And it's gonna tell us different things. Content is four words long, using 600 words. Some of these are okay and some of these are not. You can use it or what? Usually the all the information is nice. Maybe there are products you cannot add 600 words description, but you can add a 100 or 200 AD. The H1, H2, H3 tags at the images said do follow links pointing to external resources. So it tells you a few things about the title, readability, solar, really nice plugin to use with your store. Okay, this is one of them adding another one because we are a store, we're going to want to have a wishlist. So let's add a wishlist plug-in. Again, we're seeing a few options. The one that I like is this one installed now activate. And again we're having this really nice wizard. Lets go. I'm gonna leave this as default, is going to create a page automatically. Continue. Where do I want the button and the text? After Add to Cart button yes. That wishlist showing product listing? Yes, I want that to show there as well. How should products be removed from wishlist automatically or manually? So when you buy them, share visually speech continue. And that's it. We're now having a wish list on our store and we can view it. Let's see here. If we go to store at the wishlist, we're seeing it here. If we click on it. It has been added view wishlist. And we're seeing the wishlist here. We can even add a page to, to our menu. We can do that. Go to menus. Most recent okayed shows up. Wish list. I'm gonna put it right here. Safe. You cite. And voila. We have a wish list page, which is awesome. Few other plug-ins we can add. Going back to the dashboard, add plugins, maybe an invoice, Woo Commerce PDF, invoices and packing slips. Yes, I want to add this one. It has a lot of installations and five out of five, so it's, you know, it's a good plug-in. Let's activate it. We go here. We go to PDF invoices. And we have different options. The shop name, we can add the address. If we have any terms and conditions or extra fields attached to email C If we want that. So once an order is created, we can send it automatically. So next invoice number, we can edit this too. We don't want to be one. I would add 1111. So this is how he's going to start. Display, email, display, phone number, many things you can customize on your invoice that's going to be sent to your customers. Let's discuss a bit about security in our next lesson. Thank you, and see you soon. 19. Widgets: Hello and welcome back. In this lesson, I want to talk a bit more about customizing our store, about widgets and how we can set them up. To do that, we just need to go to our dashboard widgets. And we're gonna see a lot of them here. We have the product sidebar. At the moment. We don't have the this enabled, but we have the Woo Commerce sidebar. And if we go to our store, we see that we have so few widget here. So one of them is our bestsellers, browse by category. So our categories and also filter by price. If I'm going back to widgets, Woo Commerce sidebar, maybe I want this to be the first one. I just move it. So it's just a drag and drop. Really, really simple. And if I click refresh and boom, I'm seeing the filter by price. The first one. Let's see if it works filter. And now I'm seeing products with that go up to a 120 pounds. Awesome. We, in the previous lesson, we disabled the custom footer, and now we're seeing these widget areas. These can be customized from this here. Widget one we did 234 and we're seeing an about here. Maybe I want to move this to widget area one. And I moved it. And in the other ones I want to maybe displayed categories, product categories. So I want to display this one here. Maybe a menu or navigation menu in the third. They should have the footer menu yet save. I can name it. So Menu, company, say. And in the footer widget area for maybe I want to add some recent post recent articles. Number. Maybe it is too. I don't think there's too many anyway. And that's about it. So we have the about, we have the product categories, the company menu. We can edit this to four where and we have the recent articles if we click on them. Voila, this main sidebar is for the blog, but we haven't enabled it. We're having, we have had their widget and Footer bar, one Footer bar to section. If we add something here, let's see what happens. It's not enabled yet, but you can do that if you want to, from the customizer. That's about it for this. Thank you very much for watching. See you in the next lesson. 20. Dashboard and WordPress Settings: Hello and welcome back. In this lesson, I want to show you a few tips and tricks about WordPress Dashboard and go through a few settings. For example, when you go to your dashboard, can seed this stuff here. These boxes are draggable and what we can do is put on the top what is more important for us. So, for example, the M-commerce status, what sales we made orders, spendings or different things like this. We can hide things. We can move things around. Week draft. Some of these things are of no interest for us, but some of them are so we want them on top here. What else? Going to the settings? The site title, the tagline. Just another gift shop. To do it like this. Changing my time zone. I can do it from here and I suggest you change the time zone, urine. So you have many, many options. I'm going to choose London. Week starts on one day. Save the different date formats. If you don't like this one, you can pick whatever you like. This. We're going to leave it like this reading I've showed you, showed you how you can change the homepage URL. So the post page, we created a blog page here. Your feed. As it is, comments. We have a few options here. You can close comments. Older born Post older than 14 days. Email me whenever anyone posts a comment. A comment is called Hall for moderation. Holder commenting. Q. If it contains one or more links, if usually if someone comments and it has a link, most likely spam. So two is already too much. The media settings, we're going to leave them as they are perma links. This is something I would suggest you to change. So instead of the name, I would go with post name. And this stuff that's for commerce. I suggest you live it like it is. Privacy policy. And limit login, put thems, and we will leave it as it is. So that's about it. For this lesson. I'll see you in the next one. Chairs. 21. How to Create Products Part 1: Hey there, welcome back. In this lesson, I want to discuss a bit about the products and the different kind of products we can sell with the help of commerce. So when we imported our Astra template, it also imported products as well. We can see them here. So we have accessories. These are the categories we're going to show. We're going to learn how to create these as well. So I have some hoodies, t-shirts, sneakers, and some woman clothing, genes jewelery bags. How do we do that? Well, we go here. So if we are in the WordPress Dashboard, we can go to products, all products. And we can see we have 31 products here. They're all in stock. They have different prices, are, and are in different categories. We are seeing the stories here. It means this product is featured. And if I click on, let's say dark blue, then MGS. This is gonna show feature does well. And if you remember on the homepage, we had this section feature products created with short code. And we're gonna go through that as well. But here we have the products and let's add a new product. We add the new product. I'm gonna name it my new product. We're seeing here edit with elementary. I don't want to use that. I'm just going to use this panel here. Different options for publishing the product. The product categories that are currently, we're currently have the product tags that help us define the product better and use it to sort it or to find different things. Post that attributes in different templates. We're not going to use this desired some Astra settings. We're not going to use this either at the moment. The product image, we are going to set this up. So going back here, the permalink, you're seeing though. The permalink is basically the URL of the product. And I want to add a description. Great product. With great description. My typing is not the best at the moment, so I'm sorry for that. We can link to. Let's say they should. Does it help? Now, it is going to show us just a page, but if I want to, I'm going to copy this product. And the link unlink to this one. So this is the classic editor of the, of WordPress. Maybe I'm going to do this as a heading two. Okay, and moving on, product data. This is a simple product and I can either choose to be a virtual product and intangible product like maybe you're selling a meeting or a booking. You can choose this option. And if I click on it, you see that the shipping option will disappear. Also. The next option is the downloadable option. And if I click on it, I'm seeing this section where I can add a downloadable file. So I can put my price here. I'm gonna say ten. If I want to, I want this to make it on sale. I'm going to add it on nine. And if I want this to be scheduled, so from starting from today until Okay, let's do it on Tuesday. This product is going to be on sale. If I want to add the downloadable file, I click here at the file, so I choose file one. I can either add the URL directly here. So for example, if I'm hosting it on Dropbox or anywhere else, or I have the option to choose a file. So I can either choose a file that is already uploaded. So maybe I can choose this one. I'm sending of photo, I'm selling zip archive, I'm selling the software, I'm selling a PDF, whatever you want. Or I can upload a file. And I selected here. And let's say, I don't think he's going to let me upload this. I'm selling this song for example. And it's going to upload. So this is an MP3. Insert the file. And this is how it's going to show. Download limit. Very easy. I want to, I don't want a limited the purchaser, the customer can download as many times as he wants. She wants the MP3 file or enter the number of days. So I wanted to so in five days, it will expire taxable because I've already added some taxes. Thankless. Standard. Moving on inventory. I can add an stock keeping unit right here. For this purpose, I donated managed stock because right now if it's a downloadable product, I don't need to enable stuck. But if I want to sell a t-shirt or a mug, and I have only five in stock. I'm going to sorry, enables stock management. I'm going to add five. Allow backward there. So do I allow to sell more than the stock that they have? Or may maybe I can create more or maybe I can purchase from my supplier more marks. I can do that. At this moment. Do not allow to sell more. Sold individually, only one product to be sold in a single order shipping. I can add the weight, length, width, and height. Depending on the product I'm selling. Some of them can wait more, or they can be very large things that I'm selling. I need to add this or the shipping calculator can do the math. And for example, if I'm selling a mug, mug is just, I don't know, half a kilo but a 100 grams. Everything that goes over a 100 grams can be setup to charge. I can set up the charge the customer more. So if he orders a 100 mugs, the shipping charges will be automatically calculated based on the instructions I put here on the measurements. Different shipping classes as well. Here, upsells. If I want to sell, for example, an iPad, and I want to sell him cover for that iPad. I can edit here. Cross cells as well. You can see instructions here. So instead of the current, if I want to sell an iPad, that that's the mini iPad, maybe I want to up sell him to the larger iPad. And here I can see that the products I'm putting here, we're going to show in cart. And let's see if we can find it something like this. Slim fit genes. And in the upsell going to have something like bracelet attributes. I can add attributes here and you can also define them here. If this would have been a t-shirt, minute, they should product. I'm going to add one now. And this is going to be size. And I'm going to have S, going to have, I'm going to have l. These are going to be visible on the product page. I'm going to save this attribute. Let's add a new category. This is going to be t-shirts. That's great. Product that keeps T-Shirt urban, modern. So just describe as been 45X what this product is about. I can have a short description here, my shirt description. Let's set the product team H. This is the featured image of this product. And if I want to add more options, 123. When you add the images, you have the option to choose the title and caption. This will help you with SEO. We can discuss this about bit bowed the later as we're going to install an SEO plugin that's going to help us automatically play set this up. Mighty should show description. Let's save draft. Catalog visibility here. This one is, might be important for you because if we click the edit button is going to shop, showing shop and search results. So is going to show up here. Yeah, and I'm gonna be able to search for it. And sometimes you want to show in the shop only search result only or it can be hidden. And this is a featured product. Yes, I want this to be a featured product. Okay. I have my category here. It can be T-Shirts, but I can have two categories or maybe three depending on the product you are having. It can be in one or multiple categories. And I'm going to click Publish. And now let's see my product. We're seeing them here. And now I'm going to do this was a simple product. And now I'm going to show you how we can create the variable product with the same. Or maybe now, let's go ahead and leave this as it is and create a new product. So add new. So we have here no options. We cannot select the size or anything else. This is a simple product. I can add it to card. My tissue product has been added to cut. And if I view the cart, you can see here slim feed blue jeans. If we go back to the settings we had. So upsells, we had the ankle bracelet that showed up on the product page and the cross-sell is here. We are seeing the CARTO tos, we're seeing the shipping because we added a flat rate of five and the total is 14. So going back, you may also like this one. And if I click on it, this only shows me related products. Okay, let's create the variable product now. So add new, my very T-Shirt product variable. So I'm gonna do a five variable product managers, stock, 20, shipping, we leave it like this attributes. We add a new attribute now, the ad size as m, l, sorry. And we're seeing, because we are using a variable product, we're seeing this option here used for variations. We save the attribute and we're seeing the variations here. Add a variation, create variations from all attributes. And yes, we want that three variations added. We can add the regular price of 54 ds. We are going to add 5-4, the M and L. We're going to put the six a price of six pounds here. Same texts, same anything. It's not downloadable product is not a virtual product. I can manage stock. So for this one I have only three. For this one I have then. And for this one I have done as well. Do not allow back order. There's none of them are on sale. The shirts man. Variable. I'll add. Let's see, this one is our featured image. And we're gonna add another one or two Gallery image images. I'm going to publish it. And if I go to this product now, let's see what happens. The size options are here. And if I click on us, it's five pounds and there are 5-10 in stock, M, five pounds, then you stock. If I click on L distri in stock, and this one is six, I haven't added any cross cells or cells on this one. It doesn't display anything here. It does display the sizes, additional information here, no reviews. Click Add to Cart. And now I'm seeing in my career that there are two products. This one is a simple product and this one is variable product. View my card. The cross-sell still shows here because it's for this simple product. 22. How to Create Products Part 1 + Categories: Let's add a new product. And another one. This is a group product. And you can add different types of groups here. And if I search for T-Shirt, variable, nicholas, bracelet, and I'm going to publish it directly. So here you can see that I can add a different number of product. I can add one or two of these and select options for this one. And this is how you create an offer, oval group products. Maybe you create a package of different things you want to sell together. And the last type of product that I want to show is in an affiliate product, for example, if you want to create that fairly product. For example, if you want to sell something from Amazon or any other, this is, you're going to choose this one external affiliate products. So the URL will be, or maybe I can go directly to and computer accessories. Maybe the CHP going to copy this? I can change the by now. By product, by regular price. It's a 108. So there is no inventory here because we don't own the product. We can add different obstacles to show up. We can add attributes, but I'm not sure if this is depending on the product. You can add them here. Enable reviews, different options. Like I said, the product is the product image gallery. We can copy this, of course, you can copy them from Amazon. There are special plugins that you can use. And if we go here to plugins. So something like this, Amazon Auto Links, easy Amazon, Amazon Associates. This plugin will import products from Amazon and you can create a website that can help you promote different variety of products that Amazon sells. So let's publish this one as well. It's published upon. You are seeing here the buy now button. And if we click on it, it takes us directly to this product on Amazon that should have our affiliate link. And if our VT website visitors purchase through this link, we get a commission. Bit about categories. If you want, don't wear them from that section, you can add them from here. And I0 suggest you, you'd do it from here. We've added t-shirts. We can add an image to this. So I'm going to select this one at the description. Amazing T-Shirts, vagary update. Going back, maybe we should create jewelry. And this one, and maybe add the subcategory that this one, bracelet. So bearing categories, jewelry and maybe watches. And you can see they're under this category now. And if we click here on these products, let's see anchor bracelet. Let's do a quick edit. You can do this. If we want to edit. We're seeing the categories here. Jewelry, bracelets, click Update. And if we view this product categories, it now these products is all in all four categories. So that's about it. On this part. We learned a bit about the products, how we can create them, what types of products we can create with the default version of WordPress it you can create also subscriptions, memberships, bookings and more, but you need other plugins to do that. 23. Attributes: Attributes. You can create the attributes here. For example, color. This is going to show on the catalog as well. Add that tribute configured terms. And I'm going to add here White. And I'm going to add also black. And let's say red. And if I go back to my product, my variable T-Shirt product. Here, go to attributes. See, I'm already seeing this here. I have color, I will add visible on the product page, useful variations. I'm going to add all the terms. Save. Great. Now. Now you can see what variations here. I can edit, create variations from all attributes. And if I click on go. Now I'm seeing a lot more variations because I have the S size with black guess size, we dread the size with white, M size with black and red, white. And going to the product, I've saved it going here. So I can choose a size now, S and I can choose a color, black. Add to Cart. And my customer will be able to choose exactly what he wants. So that's about it for this lesson. Thank you for watching and see you in the next lesson. 24. Order Management: Hello and welcome back. In this lesson, I want to discuss a bit about how to handle your orders when you're making a sale. So let's create an order on our store. We go to the store. We go to this product, Add to Cart, view cart, and then proceed to checkout. We're going to place an order on our store and see what happens. Place order. And that's it. We're seeing that the order is placed and everything is fine. If we go to our MOOC commerce orders. And we're seeing the order here. We click on it. And we're seeing different things here. Now the order has the status of processing and we have multiple options here. We now can start package the order for example. So we have these anchor, we solved an ankle bracelet, we need to ship it. We're preparing everything to ship the order. We can create the invoice or and the packing slip right away because we're using this PDF invoices and begging sleeves plug-in. Real easy. We're seeing the customer information. If he has different shipping address, then the billing address. We can email the invoice. If we have a downloadable product, we can regenerate download permissions here. And we will see the axis. What kind of products can the customer download here? So this is pretty straightforward, and once order, orders come in, you can start seeing your reports here. Says br, product, sales by category, coupons, downloads. We can see the customers here. One customer. At the moment, there are no customers because we're an admin. So we place the order as an admin. If you have products in stock out of stock, most doc Texas reports. So all the information you need to run your star. Thank you very much for watching and see you in the next lesson. 25. How to Create Coupons: Hey, welcome back. In this lesson, I want to talk a bit about coupons and how you can create them, and what options we have here. Let's create our first coupon. Let's say we are having a promotion and we want to offer Halloween discounted at 20, 20% percent off. We're gonna give it this title. This is the coupon code. A fixed cart discount or a percentage. Which fixed product discount? These are the options we have now, I'm thinking I'm going to choose a percentage discount and I'm going to offer a 20% discount. Allow free shipping. When will this expire? For these restrictions, minimum spend, if I want to add that the maximum spent individual use. It can be used with other coupons, excludes sale items. Maybe this is an option as well. There are different restrictions and limitations here that we can either do it for certain products, we can exclude products or categories from this allowed emails. We, if we want to send this coupon only to certain people, we can add it there. The usage limits. How many coupons can I create? Maybe I can. Only the first 100 people can use this. Apply to all qualifying items in cart. User lead limit per user. Do I want to limit this to for this particular customer if he wants to use the coupon to times, can he do that? Maybe know all. Tell him that this coupon can be used only one time. So if I publish it and I click on Generate coupon code, but if I refresh it live page. So you can generate here or you can use whatever you want. I use this one because I wanted to have a nice name. I go to my cart and if I click here 20% off, my coupon has been applied and it changed the CARTO minus 3460. That's about it. About coupons, easy. And I suggest you to use it. It's a great way to market the products, create promotions, and everything else. Thank you very much. See you in the next lesson. 26. How to Install Google Analytics: Hello and welcome back. We've already finished setting up our website. We have our products, we have categories. The thing I want to show you in this lesson is to install your analytics code. So we're seeing different plug-ins that we can install. You can either try this one from directly from more commerce or this one. I'm going to install the M-commerce Google Analytics plugin doesn't have a really good rating word. Usually it works. It doesn't work when you have done something wrong with your plugins. And now I'm going to commerce. I'm going to settings and connect to commerce, to Google Analytics. It's right here in integration. And now you can go to Google, create your Analytics account, and add your ID right here. We're going to enable standard tracking yes. Display advertising now. Yes. And enable enhanced e-commerce as well. How do we create this Google Analytics? I'm going to show you right now. So if you go to analytics dot, I already have one. So I'm creating a property here. I'm gonna choose Web. I'm going to continue. Like says, gift shop. My URL, which is I can copy it right away. They don't have to do this, but let's see. Shopping, United Kingdom, create. And that's it. The tracking ID is this one here. So I'm gonna copy this one, place it here. I'm going to save changes. But now I need to do a couple of things. I am going back to the analog analytics and going to Properties settings. I'm going to enable demographics and interests, reports, reports. Save. Go back. Let's view the settings here. Yes, I want to enable. And that should be S here. We're going to save. We go to e-commerce settings now and enable. Enable. We go, we're not seeing this would save. And now we can track what is happening on our website. We're going to see different kinds of reports, visitors and basically a lot and a lot of the, if you can see here, at the moment, there is no traffic. What we're going to see where the users are coming from. We can, the real time is nice to have, but all kinds of reports. I can show you one of our websites here. So this is a small websites. It has around 800 visitors a month. Where do they come from? Location. So most of them the United States. So this is in the last seven days acquisition, how we got those users behavior, what they did on our website, what pages they visited, and also conversions. How many goals, the commerce and many, many other reports as going to that's going to help us grow our store. Thank you very much for watching and see you in the next lesson. Chairs. 27. Setup a New Contact Form: Hello, welcome back. In this lesson, I want to show you how we can change the contact form. The plugin we're using is this one here. So is this one WP forms, not this plugin was installed automatically when we installed our template along with elementary and a couple of other plug-ins. This is it here. But I think it has some limitations. We can install a different plug-in. For that. We go to Plugins, Add New Contact Form, and see, let's see what the displays. And we're gonna install this one here for Minister. Really flexible, it's free. Install now, activate. And I'm gonna go here. Let's create a form. We're choosing a contact form. We have multiple options here. A Quote Request, newsletter, login and registration. Create a post, continue. Contact Form. Create. Pan. We have our fields, first name, email, address, phone number, and message. Let's add another one. And maybe we want our users to add an attachment. For example, we insert the field and we see it here. Save draft. And if we preview, it, looks great. We can add different fields from an address, maybe a bigger text area they pick, or if you want to schedule things, TimePicker, recapture. This sometimes is important. But for now, we're going to publish this. We're going to copy this short code. Let's go to our contact page. Contact edit with elements. And we're seeing the contact form here where it says enter your short code. I'm gonna delete this one and I'm going to paste my new short code here. I'm going to update. And let's view our page. And voila, this is our contact form. Now we can edit it. The appearance, make it flat, or let's see how that looks. So fled looks good, bold. I'll leave it like this. That we can change colors, theme, fonts, different settings, the behavior. So what happens after someone submits a message? Thank you for contacting us. We will be in touch shortly. So this is the message or maybe we can redirect it to a thank you page or just hide the form. Different methods. Autofill, honeypot Diocese for spam. In case boards 1212. Maybe I'll enable this. Then notifications. You're seeing here email notifications headed this recipients. And I wanted to go to contact gift We can add different applications here, integrations and can connect ZP or male chimp, Google Sheets and tons and tons of other apps and software. So it's really a nice plug-in. So that was it for this lesson. Thank you very much for watching and see you in the next lesson. Chairs. 28. Online Store Security: Hello and welcome back. In this lesson, I want to discuss a bit on, on how to secure your Woo Commerce website. Really simple. If you created your store and you choose that mean as your username, I want to tell you that is a mistake. We need to create another username. And we go to users, go to all users. So you can see here it mean and add new. And here we're gonna create a new user News, for example, something random and with numbers as well. So add numbers. Add your email address. Alex. Alex, give, firstName, lastName, the website. No website. And here we can send a new user an email about their account. We're going to do administrator, add new user. And this is it. Now, what we need to do is delete the old one. I'm going to generate a password of the user. Yeah. I'm gonna log out. And as you can see, I'm using a password manager, so please do that. So you don't have to remember passwords and use passwords that are really hard to guess, logging in. Okay, I'm again, I'm going to add this to my last best class-based password manager. I'm gonna go to users. And I'm going to delete this user. And here attribute all content to my current user. And voila, this is our first step to secure our website. When creating these new user, don't forget to add the firstName, lastName, You see here, display publicly name. Use this one-year, So you use your name. Maybe it you just use your Alex, that's it. Nothing else. Because when you publish things, you don't want to publish things with your username. So which is this one? I'm going to update my profile. And what am I talking about that is if you go here is the Hello World in DC here by Alex. So what am I see here? If I were to publish something on my blog and I would publish under my this generated username it, for a hacker, it would be easy to, to use it and then just try random passwords or fine my password in different ways. Okay, moving on, we're going to add a new one, a new plugin. I meant this is helpful as if someone tries to get into our admin account. We're trying at least to make it as hard as possible for them to go to settings. We can block IPs, we can do different settings here. You can put your even with your email address. So only you will be able to login to the Wordpress admin. That's about it. And thank you for watching. See you in the next lesson. Chairs. 29.
