1. 1.1 Welcome video and introduction to the course: Hi and welcome to the ABL studio course that
will teach you how to make really awesome
music in this fantastic down. I'm seven beats from
Beach University and unprofessional sound mixing
and mastering engineer. I'm also a used to produce or, and this is where opposed to tutorials on how to make music. I've already reached over
35 thousand subscribers. And by the time you
watch this intro video, probably even more AF, made thousands of pieces of
music over the last decade, from EDM to hiphop
music that have ended up with some
really awesome artist. But I know what it's like to be a new user and open up
RStudio for the first time. It could be very overwhelming, but that's why I
designed this course for people like you who
are just starting out. Corals won't just teach you
how this program works, but it will also teach you how to make your first pieces of music and provide you with all the necessary
tools you need. I will teach you an
efficient workflow to make producing music and our studio
as pleasant as possible. Throughout the course,
I will show you all the techniques
and provide toward some exercises where
you will create music from hip hop
to house beats. And this, because I
think when you're ready, practicing something,
learning is more fun. I can highly recommend
you getting in touch with other
studio because of the short learning curve and the fantastic and
simple workflow. This course is designed for
beginners who want to learn the best music production
software out there right now.
2. 1.2 Keyboard Shortcuts to help you fasten up your workflow: Welcome to the next video and we're now going
to talk about some really helpful
keyboard shortcuts to fasten up your workflow. So first make sure that down at the Attach File and
open up the link. So this will lead to
aside from image line, which is the production
company of FL Studio. And right here you can find all the main keyboard
and mouse shortcuts. We don't need to
learn those by heart, but I will explain that
later on in the tutorial. But I think this one
is just a really helpful to already
read through it. So when following the course, I think this sheet is
just really helpful. So make sure to check it out
when following the course.
3. 1.3 Tips to improve your course taking experience: Right now I'm going to show
you some tips on how to improve your course
staking experience, ride down important steps
and repeat them frequently. Really try to follow the first courses
as best as you can. These are for sure the
most difficult lessons, but will really help you to understand the structure
of the program. Don't download any
advanced project files or use or by any external
programs or hardware. Just start off with the basics used to program a
couple of hours a week. Make sure to download all
the files included in this course is available for you and make advantage of that.
4. 2.1 How to install the demo version of FL Studio: So when you open
up other Studio, it could be very overwhelming. So I'm going to
explain our studio using this crazy right here. I will study are basically
consists of six elements. So it's a toolbar is
this general rag, the browser on the left, the playlist, the piano
roll, and a mixer. And that's basically it. So it's divided in
those six elements. The toolbar consists
out of the menu banner, domain volume, the BPM, and some selection panels and some other buttons which we'll
explain later in detail. And is it sorry,
so the orange bar right here as channel rack, and this is very well at your instruments
are drum samples. And on the left, right
here is the browser, and this area will
store all the elements. So for example,
your drum sounds. So from the browser
you will be able to drag in some files
into our study on the yellow mark part here
is the playlists and this is where you will create
the arrangement of the sun. And here you will be able
to layer of the elements. And this right here
is the piano rolls. So the purple MC bar, this is where you can insert
melodies into the program. And right here, the
green mark part is the mixer and this
is where you can route other elements to mix it
and finalize your music. So this is just a general
impression of our studio. And in the next
lessons I'm going to dive into all the
elements specifically.
5. 2.2 What is a synth - What is an effect - VSTs: First things first, what
are synthesizers, effects, and VSDs, virtual studio
technology, also called VST, is an audio plug-ins software
interface that integrates software synthesizers
and affects units into digital
audio workstations, VSD and similar technologies use digital signal
processing to simulate traditional recording study
or hardware and software. Thousands of plugins exist, both commercial and flavor, and many applications
support VST under license from its
creator Steinberg. Most VST plugins are
neither instruments, so VST II or effects VST FX. Although other categories,
just for example, spectrum analyzers
and various meters, VST plugins usually provide a customer graphic
user interface that displays controls similar to physical switches and
knobs on Audio Hardware, often older plugins rely on the host application
for the user interface. So we could divide this
into three categories. Vst instruments generate audio. They are generally either
a virtual synthesizer or a virtual samplers. Many of those VSTS
recreate the look of those famous synthesizers
that are now InVEST synthesizer or
include discovery Nexus, silent one, massive spare
ever made absent reactor, gladiator or serum of Vanguard. Vst affects rather
process audio, then generate audio and perform the same functions as
hot LAP process or US, such as a reverb and phasors. Most software, such as FL Studio allow multiple effects
to be chained. Audio monitoring devices such as spectrum analyzers and
meters representing characteristics visually such as frequency distribution,
amplitude, Et cetera. Vst media effects process to
VST messages, for example, transpose or abrogate and a routine metadata to VSC instruments or
a hardware devices.
6. 2.3 The mixer: So in this lesson,
I'm going to give you an introduction to the mixer, which is built into Apple study. So first we have to
open up the mixer. You can do this by
pressing this button. So it could look
very overwhelming. And you don't really need to know every function of the mixer because this is a really
complex part of our stereo, or we're just going to
start off with the basics. So I will give you a
simple explanation. So we could create, for example, ten patterns using different
elements or sounds. And we all want to link
them to the mixer. We can link ten
elements to the mixer. So ten elements, ten inserts. So we could route down from the channel
rack to the mixer. So I will give you a
simple explanation. So we link an element
to the mixer. So willingly
specific element to, for example, insert one. So that's the first
input into the mixer. And then this mixer input
were linked to the master. And the master of
signal is watch while here through the speakers, that, that's the final signal. So on, I'm going to show
you this in our study. So we're going to open
up the channel rank. And you could do this
by using desk button. So we have this audio clip and
we'll just give it a name. So I'm going to get, we're
going to name it Test mixer. So make sure to select
your element in a mixer. And you can simply
do this by selecting this one using this bucks. So we have select this
button and this one has to display a green edge. These electrodes, one using the right mouse
button like this, or a name on it,
left mouse button. So r Now this specific element is selected and a channel rank. So right now, click
on your mixer. So just select,
insert one like this, and use the right mouse button. And there are a lot of functions
we want to use routing. So we're going to root elements from the channel
rack, sued a mixer, select routing, and then route selected channels
to this track. So in this case we've
selected one channel. So root this selected
channel, like this, and as you can see, test
mixer as a linked sir one. So right now a signal is
going through this channel. Right here we have
some basic functions. So mute this channel or
enable this channel. So we can also use some panning to the left
and to the right. Our reset. And we could also make an
adjustment to the volume of this specific
element like this, but just using this slider. And as you can see on
the hand bar on the top, we can see the percentage of volume and the
amount of decimal. The mixer also has some
more advanced functions, but we're just going
to use the basics. Otherwise it will become
way too difficult. On a bottle right
here you will see this arrow and this green
line goes to the master. And as you can see, this
is the master channel. And as you can see, all of those answered a
link to the master. And when it comes to the
functions of the mass or is basically equal to the inserts. You can adjust the volume or do some panning or enable
or disable the mass. So right now, just select test
mixer and this row we can add some effects VST to
the specific channel. So select this one. So the edge turns green
and move to the right. And we can see slot one, slot two, slot three, et cetera. So we're now going
to look at slot 1. And we could add, for
example, another VSD. So just open this one up by
just clicking on slot one. Select more plug-ins. For example, we
want to add an EQ. And in this case, search for
the fruity barometric acute. Double-click. And this
one won't bump up. All right, now
you've had an effect to the specific element. So you can add Santa
effects on one channel. Right here. There is also an equalizer
which you can use. And when it comes to the
next or we can also make some adjustments so we
can rename this one, change to color and change the icon are assigned
to a new audio track. Using file, we can
open up some preset. So right now we, we selected the default preset. We can also use a
preset you like. We could open up an
audio edits are. So open up the audio editor, which is built into our study
of which is called Addison. And these are basically the functions you
really need to know. So this was just a brief
introduction to the mixer and later on in the tutorial or going to really use the mixer.
7. 3.1 Understanding the structure: So welcome to the next chapter and welcome to the next lesson. And in this lesson I'm
going to guide you through the mixer enable studio
and this course, I'm just going to scratch the surface when
it comes to mixing because mixing comes
through experience. But in this course I'm going to provide you with the first steps on how to improve your mixing
and understand the mixer. So first we're going to open up the mixer by using this button. The mixer consists out of multiple channels which
process the signal. On the left, the mass or
of a channel is played. And this is basically
the channel where all the signals
come together. Separate elements which are
attitude that channel right, could be linked to the mixer. And there's elements from the channel rat
could be linked to the mixer by linking them
to individual in-service. And those channels or inserts are eventually they
linked to the master. So in this case
we're going to have a look at inserted one. So this is just one channel. A channel could be
muted or unmuted. By using this enough. It could be pan to the
left or pan to the right. The volume could be adjusted. We could reverse the polarity
or some other functions, but that's not really important when it
comes to this course. And as you can see, this
channel is linked to the master and is displayed
as green line like this. And on the master
we could adjust the volume of the
individual channel. And we can have a look at the percentage
using the hint bar. So right now it's set to 100%. And when an element is
linked to answer a one, we could also add specific
effects to this channel. And we can do this right
here using those slots. And when we select an insert, we could add signal processing
to a specific signal. This also got an
effect or an FX. And this can be done by adding an effect to one of those slots. So Slot 1, two, slot 10. We could also adjust
the mix of the effect, amount of how much of the effect is applied
to the signal. And we can also mute or
unmute specific effect. And on the bottom right
here as an equalizer which can use to make
adjustments to the signal. And in the next lesson,
we're going to link our first elements to the mixer.
8. 3.2 Link samples to the mixer: For this lesson, I've opened
up our hiphop project. And right now we're going to
open up the channel rank. So, so use this button. And we're going to link all
those elements to the mixer. And it's a really important
but still really simple step. And there are multiple
ways how to do this. And I'm just going
to show you a few. So first, we want to add
the kick to the mixer. So right now, just
select this element. Open up the mixer. Going to select, insert one
breast or right mouse button. And we're going to route
this element to the mixer. So I'm going to select routing, route selected channels
to the strike. As you can see right now, the kick is added to the mixer. But as I said, there are also
multiple ways to do this. So on this books, we could target the mixer Frank, so we could select one or two. So right now the snare is linked to the
second mixer trick. So we're going to
open up the mixer. And as you can see,
insert two is selected, but FL Studio did not add the name of the
elements to insert two. So we can make an
adjustment to it manually. Mouse button, rename. And in this case we've
added the snare. Right now we're going to select multiple elements to the mixer. So right now, just
select high hat. And then just make
sure you select just these two by pressing
the left mouse button. So make sure these
two are selected. We're going to open up the
mixer right now, select, insert three channel routing and make sure to
select the second one. So roots selected channels
starting from this track. So starting from insert three. And as you see right now, the club and hired are
added to the mixer at once. And it also copied the
names of the elements. I right now you can choose
to method where she like. So right now I'm going to
select the correct E Piano, a lender to answer jam, soda channel routing rule to
select a channel like this. Right now I'm going
to just select a master and play the song. So make sure you
select some and play. You see the volume
of all the elements. So that's it. And this is basically
how to link your elements from the
channel react to that mixer. For example, you want to make an adjustment or you
selected the wrong answer. You could easily just use
the right mouse button, select file, and press default. And this insert will
be set to default, but the element will still
be linked to insert four. So this was the high head. So open up the channel rank. And as you can see, the hi-hat is still linked to channel for, but we could also use
the right mouse button and used set function. So r now is linked
to the master again. So this is a simple way how to delete something
from the mixer. So now I'm going
to link it again. Channel routing channel.
And in this case, for example, you've added
the high hat to the wrong. Insert. All right, Now just press Alt and just press the arrow to the
left or to the right. And as you can see, you can
move this element around. And that's how you can link
your elements with a mixer. And in a case you made
a mistake, remove them.
9. 3.3 EXERCISE: Link elements to the mixer!: The next exercise is to open up our EDM project and link all
those elements to the mixer. Good luck. You can find the final project
attached to this video.
10. 3.4 Adding effects: In this lesson, we're going to add effects to this project. So right now I've opened
up our hiphop project. I'm going to open up the clip. So this is our club pattern. And I'm going to select
a patron mode and just play it. Right now. I'm going to open up the mixer, select club, and I'm going to add some effects
to this clip. So right now you could
press the spacebar to play the element like this. So first we're
going to add an EQ. So I'm going to select slow one and go to Select
and more plug-ins. I'm going to search for an EQ. And in my case there are
multiple elements popping up, but sorts for the
fruity parametric EQ to right now you've
successfully opened up an EQ. So right now we're going
to play our clad patron. And if it's not really
clear to you anymore, make sure to watch one of
my previous videos where I explain everything
about the food Q. And in this case,
we're going to just reduce the high frequencies. So the frequency is on
the right of the EQ. So going to use band 7 from
making the adjustment, I'm going to use this slider. So we're going to make an
adjustment to the 7 Ben. So I'm going to make an
adjustment using the slider. For example, going to
set it to minus 18 dB. As you can hear, the high
frequencies are reduced. I could also just
have two plus 18 dB. In this case, we're
going to set it to minus three dB, like this. But for example, we want to remove all the low frequencies. We want to make an
adjustment to bend one. So we use the right
mouse button. Select type. I'm going to lead to
high frequencies pass summit to use a high
pass filter like this. Select is not, for example, set it to free on
that horribles. So right now we're
going to set it to 800 hertz, like this. So right now we did
some simple mixing on. The next step is
to add some delay. So we're going to use slot t2. More plugins. Find delay. I'm going to use the
fruity delayed too. So by default, it
sounds like this. So delay is way too loud, so it wants to make an
adjustment to the forum. So I'm going to select foil and just set
it to 10 percent. Now it sounds like this feedback and I'm just going
to leave it to normal volume to feedback level. You could also reduce
it a little bit, so set it to 25 percent. Right now sounds like this. Right now, play around
with the cut-off frequency until you like it. And it's basically
reduce the amount of high frequencies
from the delay. So for example, set it to 50%. And for a time and offset, I'm just going to
leave it by default. And the next step is
to add some reverb. So I'm going to use slot pray. More plugins. Find, and I'm going to use
the fruit you revert to. So by default it
sounds like this. I will just going to add
a little bit of reverb. So we're going to adjust
the amount of wet. I'm going to set it
to 5% like this. So right now you've
just added in the queue delay and some
River to the gland. And then the next lesson
I'm going to dive in and how to make adjustments
to specific sounds.
11. 3.5 Basic Effects – Equalizer (EQ): In this video, I'm
going to dive in and Tutti Frutti EQ to. So in this case I'm going to
add this EQ to the melody. So open up the melody. Select Pattern are
now play the melody. And it's already
linked to the mixer. So I'm going to
open up the Mixer, selected pyruvic epi
and just play it again. You can see it's
properly linked. To select slot one. I'm going to use the
fruity parametric EQ to. So right now we've added the
CPU to the GOP progression. And a queue is used to adjust the loudness of
specific frequencies. So this EQ basically visualize the frequencies or notes
or tones, your hair. And on the top of this EQ, the distribution of the
frequencies as shown. So sub frequencies, bass frequencies are
low mid frequencies, mid-frequencies, high
mid-frequencies, PRS and travel. So because I'm just
scratching the surface, I'm going to show
you how to apply any queue to a specific sample. So we're just going to have
a listen to the sound. And that's basically
what it's all about when it comes
to using any queue. So you can hear the sound contains a lot of
bass frequencies. And because this is
simple Capgras delusion, we're going to reduce
that a little bit. So in this case we're
going to use band 2. And we'll go to US picking this one and we're
going to reduce. So we're going to lower this band on the specific
frequency range. And here I guess. So we've reduced those
frequencies by minus five dB. But we also want to remove
all the low frequencies. So select band one, select type. I'm going to let the
high frequencies best. So I'm going to use
high-pass filter. As you can see, the
line is adjusted. So we're now going
to have a lesson and adjusts the first band. And as you can see,
the sound doesn't contain any high frequencies, PRS frequencies, or
travel frequencies. And if you just want
to be greater for experiment with some
different settings, we could also select
some presets. So select the options presets and just play around
with these precedence. So for example, if you want this sound like
an old telephone, we could just select
this prescient. And as you can see, the queue is adjusted array. Now
just have a listen. Oh, you don't like
if civic preset, we could also just
scroll to some presets. So for example, radio. We could also reset it. So presets and press default. So right now we're gonna do
the same thing again at once. So right now I've scratched the surface when it
comes to using an EQ. In the next lesson, I'm
going to show you how to add some delay to the
specific sound.
12. 3.6 Basic Effects – Delay: In this lesson, I'm going
to add a delay to the sun. So I'm going to select one and go to select the
fruity delay two. So make sure you select better and select the
melody better pattern. The mixer. And this
how it sounds. But in this case, we can also scroll
through some presets. I'm going to add just a
little bit of the leg. So first I'm going to reduce
the volume of the delay, so I'm just going to adjust it. The next step is to select
the feedback furniture so could use normal
and avert or paper. And in this case I'm
going to use pink. So we're going to have we could, we could also make
an adjustment to the volume of the
feedback signal. If we did, We did
that right here. All right, Now we're going
to make an adjustment. So it got a frequency. And this is basically
an EQ and it's cutting off all the
high frequencies. So if an adolescent, and here I'm removing the high
frequencies from a big signal. Right now we're going to
have a look at its side. So right now it's
set to triple it. So three, so the feedback
happens three-time every bar. So we could also set
this to, for example, four steps or maybe one step. I prefer just to
use three steps. We could also make an
adjustment to the trial level. But just leave it,
in this case, 78%. And when adding a delay, you just have to listen
really carefully. So just, just added
two way you like it. And that's allocate
say about this.
13. 3.7 Basic Effects – Reverb: So make sure you select
pattern and select the melody. Open up the mixer, select the graphic epi, and then we're going
to select slot prey. And we're going to
add the fruity river. And by default, it
sounds like this. And this case we want to
add a big room river. So first we can make an adjustment to the
low frequencies. So remove the low
frequencies from 118 hertz using the equalizer. I'm right now, I'm just
going to play sound. Now, right now. Around
five kilohertz. This browse Assad is playing. So in this case, I
can recommend you to just scroll
through to pray says, so I'm gonna do that right now. These are all the
default from room, large hall, small studio.
And just have a listen. I right now is crucial to make some adjustments to
this phrase sit. So we're going to adjust
the wet at first. So this is the amount of
reverb which is edits to the SAT will go to
use this low. Good. So I'm going to remove
the low frequencies from the re-verb around
five on the thirds. In this case. You could play around with the decay
and just really have to listen and get a remove some of the high
frequencies from the river. And we could also adjust
the size of the room. So the thing is size around 70. So it's way much better. So that's basically it when
editing graver. So to sit.
14. 3.8 EXERCISE: Add some reverb and delay to your melody!: The next exercise
is to add an EQ as some delay and reverb
on multiple sounds. Good luck.
15. 3.9 EXERCISE: Make a sImple beat with effect automation clips!: Now it's time for
another exercise. So we're going to add
animation clips to this project on our effects. So first I'm going to
show you how to do this. So we're going to
open up the mixer. At this rubric piano. I will go in and
open up a filter. So we're going to
select slot four. We're going to use
more plugins. Find. And we're going to use
the fruity filter error. Now you want to automate
the cutoff frequency. So we're going to select this
one, right mouse button. Create automation, like this. All right, now the
animation clip is added to the playlist. All right, now, just
be creative and create your first animation
clip on an effect. So we're going to start at 40 percent and create a button. And we're going to
add another point right here and create
something like this. So we're going to make
an adjustment like this. Alright, now have a listen. So now it's your turn to create a simple beat using automation. Could hips.
16. 3.10 Creating presets: In this lesson, I'm
going to show you how to create presets in a mixer. So first we're going
to open up the mixer. For example, we want to
save the effects spray said we've made for
the Arabic EPFL. So the first step is to use
the right mouse button, select File, and then
Save mixer state S. All right, now we could
save this preset. So for example, you call it
keys preset and press Save. Right now I'm going to just
remove everything like this. Open it the quick. Select the cubic E Piano. Go to Insert 10. Channel routing. Route to channel are now
use a right mouse button. Select File Open next
or tracks state. And then select
Keys preset open. And as you can see,
all the effects are added to the specific channel.
17. 4.1 How to use level the volume when mixing: And in this lesson
we want to start at step one to volume. And this is by far the most important step
when it comes to mixing. Because if your mix
isn't well balanced, eventually you could
add anything you want, it will not sound really cool. In this chapter, I'm just
going to use my hippo project. But the process is basically the same for the EDM project. It's just about the
same techniques. And you're maybe asking
yourself a question. This project doesn't
really contain a lot of elements,
and that's true. And this is just to
show you the process because I could open up
really fast project, but that will not add any value or learning how to mix a bit. It's really about the
basic principles. So first, open up the mixer. And as you can see, I've already linked all those
elements to the mixer. So first I'm going to start
off by mixing the Trump's. So in this lesson, I'm going
to level out the elements. That means making
adjustments to the volume. So right now we're going
to select the playlist, use the left mouse button, and select a part where all
the elements are playing. Right now we're going to open up the mixer and we're going to use those volume sliders
to make adjustments to the volume of a
specific element is the main void. And the first step for
me is a golden rule. Nothing has to be
louder than your KYC. So we're going to make an adjustments to
all the other item is already Sounds good. That's a little bit. And make
an adjustment to the piano. R0. Now we're going to solo
some of the elements. So I'm going to disable the Arabic E Piano kick and just played club
hi-hat as there. Maybe reduce the volume of
this, narrowed it a bit. Right now we're going to kick arrow now going at the piano. And when it comes to mixing, and especially for
are just in a volume, you just have to
train your errors.
18. 4.2 How to use an Equalizer (EQ) when mixing: In this lesson on both EQ three elements
there and the case, make sure that you
start dequeuing either because you
play all the sounds. So right now we're
going to start off with the APN. Go to you. So first, some of
those mid-frequencies, woof, low frequencies to high frequencies. Right now I think after
mega just would do that. It's a little bit
on the same level. In this case, it's the floor
of my frequencies to dequeue high frequencies. So adding some true q is stare into two frequencies, high frequencies. And it just about
playing around with EQ until you like
all the sounds. So really make small
adjustments to the sound until it just
blends really well together. So when it comes to
the club and snare, so make too many
adjustments because otherwise you are ruined
the original sound. When mixing elements
make sure to remove the low frequencies for
any sense you've added. Because the low frequencies
from the kick and the low frequencies from the scent were otherwise
sound, really muddy. And when it comes to the club, the hi-hat and snare just
play around with it until you like it isn't really a magic
formula for mixing this. And in the next lesson, I'm going to show you how to add some panning to those elements.
19. 4.3 How to use Panning when mixing: In this lesson,
I'm going to apply some panning through the
elements with forests. Have a listen. So first, open up the mixer and I'm just
going to play the trumps. And this really about
Stereo Separation. So my kick is always
play and mono. And I want my clip
or a snare off to play on their left or right. For the first step
is to select a clip. And I'm going to use
this panning now. So I'm going to append my
clip 12 percent to the right. I'm going to use my
select Mohammad. And because the club and hired contain a lot of
similar frequencies, we're going to pan this
element to the right. So Ben is 1, so 12
percent to the right. And we're in our snares left. And because the
scenario contains more mid-frequencies but
not high frequencies, are also able to Pandas
element to the right. So we want to append is element 25 percent or a 24% to
the right are renowned. Sounds like this. There's Mexicans
Req is applied to almost every piece of music. And just a simple way on how
to get a clean sounding mix. Next up, we're going
to add Arabic E Piano. And this piano, I'm going
to play this piano in the fruit EQ. Let's
have a listen. Vrs or struggles. And because we've been
some high frequencies from the high hat to the right. And so mid-frequencies from
the snare to the right, we're going to bend this
element to the left. And because our club contains all the high frequencies
and it's bent to the left with is already containing a lot of
mid-frequencies. We are able to bend this
curve IC API to the left. So I'm going to
append this around 12 percent to the left,
southern like this. And this is simple trick
which you can easily apply. But just listening to the sound and just thinking it
as it through the box. So pushing something
to the back, to the left or to the right.
20. 5.1 How to use Compression when mastering: In the beginning
guy to mastering, I'm just going to show you
some simple techniques and how to master your music as a beginner and just
select this part of the arrangement using
the right mouse button. We're now open up the
mixer aspect master. And then this first lesson, we're going to apply
compression to the master. So I'm going to use one. I'm going to add the
fruity compressor. And when it comes to
mixing and mastering, compressing your sounds is one of the most
difficult things. So in this case we're going
to just use a preset. So I'm going to use presets. We could just select
Master 1, 2, or 5. But in this case I'm just
going to use mass of one and make some adjustments
to it. It's Minister. For now, I'm just
going to play some. And it's really important. So now I'm just going to listen. At the final output of the mass. As you can see, the
elements are hitting 0 dB, and that's not what we want. So we want to reduce the volume, and this means
adjusting the gain. So as you can see, it again
is set to three dot 40 dB. So we could adjust that
to around minus 20 dB. And just watch what happens. As you can see, the signal
isn't hitting 0 dB. Just leave the attack
and release on default. Right now as you can see,
the threshold is set to minus a 40 dB. And it's basically
means when a signal is allowed or minus a those 40 dB, the compressor is
compressing the signal. And we adjust the amount
of compression by adjusting the ratio or
another set of three to two. And just have a listen. Now we're compressing a signal. Let's really make sure
everything together. So I recommend that the
volume is at minus three db. Use a compression
of around minus 8. And it is a ratio of
than equal to one.
21. 5.2 Soft Clipper: And the next step when it goes
through mastering is using a soft Lepper and is basically blends together
the whole signal. So I'm going to use slot t2. I'm going to use the
fruit, the South clipper. Leave the post on default and we're going to play
around with the threshold. Actually see the volume of the outgoing signal
is displayed right here and the curve
starting right here. So by adjusting the threshold
for adjusting the girl, I see right now,
I'm compressing. Or basically the story is signal a difference like this. Make sure this for the final point of the curve
is equal to wave started. And this is how you can add
a soft glow to your master.
22. 5.3 How to use a Limiter when mastering: The next step is
to add a limiter. So we're going to remove all the pigs from
our final section. So I'm going to
select slot three. I'm going to use
the fruity limiter. So make sure to
just remove that. Because we've already
compressed like this. Right now we've applied a
ceiling of minus five dB. So we've applied a
ceiling of minus five dB. I wrote now we're going to add some saturation using this. Now, I want to add to it
a B minus our ceiling, so minus seven dB. So we're going to set the
saturation to minus 70 dB. And that's it when it
comes to the limiter.
23. 5.4 Maximizer & Loudness: The next step is
to add a limiter. So we're going to remove all the pigs from
our final segment. So I'm going to
select slot three. I'm going to use
the fruity limiter. So make sure to
just remove that. Because we've already
compressed like this. Right now we've applied a
ceiling of minus five dB. So we've applied a
ceiling of minus five dB. And right now we're going to add some saturation using this. Now, I want to actually
be minus our ceiling, so minus seven dB. So we're going to set the
saturation to minus 70 dB. And that's it when it
comes to the limiter.
24. 6.1 High quality export, low file size: And has been, I'm
going to show you how to export your cell. The first step is to select
File, Export, WAV file. I've just picked a random folder and a file name is Test1. Press Save, and Run. Now we want to make sure we
want to export our fulsome. So make sure you select fulsome. The tail, just leave
it on the fold. So could the reminder 16 bars, as you can see, we're
exploring 60 bars, a total time of 26 seconds, and the file size
is calculated at 431 megabytes or now we can
select our output format. In this case, we
want to export in high-quality would
reduce the file size. So I can recommend using MP3 next and make sure to set
your MP3 bit array 2, 3 on the 20 kilobytes
per second. And this is the highest
possible bit rate when it comes to export then your MP3
file when it comes to the quality and re-sampling,
select 512 sink. So Apple study you
are runners at the highest quality possible. All the plugins to
export and high-quality. And when it comes to the
miscellaneous settings, we could add some more
data to the export file. So when exploring as some disable safe playlist
markers are safe. Markers, disable
safe node markers, we want to add the temporal
information is so enabled. This one, we want to disable
split next two tracks. Also make sure to select trend PDC slice,
enable insert effects. So these are the effects which
you've added to the mixer. Make sure to enable this one. And also made sure
to enable the mass or affects and then press star.
25. 6.2 Export a pattern: In this video, I'm
going to show you how to export a patron. So in this case we're going
to export our melody pattern. So make sure to select this
pattern set is 1, 2 pattern, and then press File, Export and press WAV file. Then what the export, this melody patron, press safe. And then just have
a quick check. So mode is a pattern. We want to export a WAV file, the quality on maximum. And in this case we want
to save the loop markers. And the final step
is to press Start.
26. 6.3 Exporting stems / track-outs: In this lesson, I'm
going to show you how to export the track routes. So first, open up
the mixer and make sure every element in a
mixer has specific name. When you've completed this
press File, Export, WAV file, then create a new folder and call it, for
example, stamps. And I'm going to select this
folder and I'm call it Test. Press Save. Make sure to set the mode to full sum and we want to
split them mixer tracks. The same exploited
strikeouts enabled this one. We could choose to enable
the master effects or maybe disable them
and press Export. Right now, our studio export
all this separate files. So the arrows are grabbing
EPA and DHA, the club. The current I had
kick and snare. And keep in mind,
the master is in a dense go file to the current.
