About This Class

Some games are meant to be played outdoors.  Take Minecraft outside by painting Steve, Alex and the rest of the Minecraft crew as blocks for the traditional Swedish lawn game of Kubb!

My name is Doug and I love creating things and playing games outside.  I was introduced to Kubb a few years back, and I was instantly hooked. Kubb takes the enjoyment of games like horseshoes or cornhole and allows you to play with teams of as many people as you want.  My family and I added the creative twist of theming our Kubb blocks as characters from the game Minecraft.

In this class you will learn:

  • The materials needed to create a Minecraft Kubb set.
  • The process of cutting and sanding the wood.
  • How to prime and paint the Minecraft characters with a unique “pixel” approach.
  • How to finish the blocks by adding coats of polyurethane.
  • The rules of how to play Kubb and conquer your lawn!

By the end of the class you will have your own Minecraft Kubb set and the knowledge to begin taking down your opponents.  This class is perfect for those looking to flex there crafting muscles with some beginning woodworking and painting, or those looking to enjoy the outdoors more by creating a stylish lawn game.
