Project Description

No Pen Tool Challenge

Assignment

Through this class you will learn several different techniques for creating complex and interesting paths without using the pen tool. And once you have, it'll be time to put them to the test!

Your assignment is to create any design or illustration in Adobe Illustrator without using the pen tool. The more intricate, the better! It will be a true test of what you've learned and really help to give you practical working knowledge so that when the time comes to implement the techniques in your own work, it's seamless.

Deliverable

In you Class Project you will submit:

  1. Your finished illustration or design
  2. Process work of how you got to your final result
  3. Any observations or new techniques that you learned in the process

Resources

The following have been provided to aid you along your quest to give the pen tool a much needed day off!

  • A PDF of the pathfinder demo we go over in the first video
  • A sample illustration with notes on what technique was used where
