Workshop Timeline
Weeks 1-3: We'll start by watching three classes on nonfiction writing.
Weeks 4-5: Now that we’ve learned the foundations of personal writing, it’s time to start writing! You will have two weeks to draft your own personal essay using any of the prompts from the classes. Remember: don’t worry about creating something that’s “perfect” — you will have an opportunity to fine-tune your essay and incorporate feedback. Iterating is all part of the writing process! To share your work, simply upload it to any of the individual class’s project galleries by December 3rd.
Week 6: One of the best ways to improve your own writing is to read the work of others and share feedback. Collaboration is the key to reflecting constructively on your own work as well as strengthening your editing eye. For the last week of the workshop, please read work from two or more of your fellow workshop participants, and give them feedback. Please provide your feedback by December 10th.
