Do you ever struggle to get good pictures of your artwork? It’s a common frustration for artists of all kinds (who aren’t also photographers). Join two illustrators as they walk you through taking excellent photographs with nothing more than a decent phone camera. Show off those real-world finished pieces and make your work stand out! All you’ll need for this workshop is a smartphone camera. Great for all levels!
Workshop Timeline
- Milestone 1: First up, join artist and illustrator Alanna Cartier in Take Better Photos of Your Art and Illustrations. You’ll learn how to get great photographs without spending all day fussing over the details. Experiment with the simple flat lay, detail shots, still lives, and photographing in different settings out in the world. Share your images in the Project Gallery by March 9th.
- Milestone 2: Now that you know how to set up your shots, it’s time to edit with illustrator Peggy Dean in Edit PERFECT Images Using Only Your Phone: The Only Three Apps You’ll Ever Need. You’ll learn Peggy’s recipe for enhancing clarity, color, and brightness (in one step); removing unwanted objects and corners; and adjusting saturation and exposure in isolated areas within a photo to instantly capture your viewers’ attention. Share your edited images in the Project Gallery by March 23rd.
