About This Workshop
Take a breather and rediscover what you love about drawing with a workshop designed for fun and experimentation! You’ll need your favorite pens and paper and access to Procreate or another digital art program (like Photoshop or Illustrator). This workshop is great for anyone who needs a break from self-judgment and wants to reconnect with their creativity and imagination.
Workshop Timeline
- Milestone 1: In Fun with Faces: Create a Stylized Digital Portrait, you’ll join greeting card designer Charly Clements for a class on drawing quirky characters. You’ll learn how to capture expressions with simple shapes and add personality with hair styles, clothes, accessories, and color. Share your own digital portrait in the project gallery by February 6th.
- Milestone 2: Next up, in Make Drawing Fun Again, illustrator and designer Hayden Aube walks you through three easy projects designed to spark creative thinking. Make characters from blobs, find inspiration in everyday objects, and combine your favorite things in strange new ways. Share your creations in the project gallery by February 17th.
- Milestone 3: For the grand finale, you’ll join visual artist Shantell Martin for Drawing on Everything: Discovering Your Creative Voice, a Skillshare Original. You’ll create rapid-fire stream-of-consciousness drawings with fun creative prompts (standing up, with music, blindfolded, and more). See what you can do when the rules of drawing change, and gain new insight into your drawing strengths. Share your final image in the project gallery by February 24th.
