Hello lettering enthusiasts!
It’s challenge time!
How good is it to give? Feels cool huh? My Skillshare Class teaches you the skills to design your very own signature brush pen style logo. In other words, writing your name to look super cool and desirable. Well, I’ve decided to set up a challenge, but this time I’m encouraging you to write someone else's name. Someone special to you, B’friend/ G’friend, Wife/ Husband, Bestie, Bro/ Siss, Mum/ Dad. Anyone that you think would get a kick out of seeing their very own name written to look super sexy.
If you follow a few of my episodes to my class, you’ll be shown all the tips and techniques of how to create a beautifully written name:
Challenge Dates:
23rd November (START): Get comfortable with using brush pens by doing some drills (episode: 4 & 5)
27th November: Build muscle memory through repetition writing the name, discovering unique ways to explore ligatures and letter relationships (episode: 8 & 9)
2nd December: Build a composition/ refine and then sketch the logo (episodes: 10, 11 & 12)
FINISH DATE: 7th December
If you go through those episodes you’ll end up with something that looks like this, that you could even possibly frame.
If you want you could take it the vectored stage (see vector classes 13 & 14) and get something professionally printed for them and then send it as a gift (Coffee mug, laser cut key ring, letterpressed. The gift choices are endless and we are readily approaching CHRISTMAS!!)
As an incentive my favourite 3 project designs will receive an invitation to dribbble. "But I’m already on dribbble dude" I hear some of you say... If that’s the case I’ll offer you a signed copy of one my “I love you bigger than the sky” pirints - Valued at $65 (postage not included).
So start putting pen to paper and documenting the process - you have nearly 3 weeks to get your projects posted illustrating all three stages.
I’ll kick start an AMA at the start and the half way point for anyone that has any questions.
Look forward to seeing your results.
Best of luck!
Matt
