Whether you’re brand new to watercolor and gouache or are ready to refine your skills and dive deeper into these fun mediums, this workshop will get you painting, experimenting and creating the art you’ve always imagined.

Workshop Timeline
- Step 1: Due October 1st. If you’re new to watercolor, you may be wondering what supplies you will need to get started. In the first week, we’ll review our top picks for everything you’ll need from brushes to paints to paper. If you already have supplies, you can feel free to work ahead.
- Step 2: Due October 8th. It’s time to start learning! We’ll kick things off by exploring one of the most important aspects of watercolor art — color mixing — in Top Teacher Yasmina Creates’ class Watercolor Magic: The Basics of Color Mixing & Color Harmony. You’ll complete 3 quick exercises along the way to practice your new skills. Share your project in the class’s project gallery by October 8th.
- Step 3: Due October 15th. Next up, we’ll learn how use the art of gouache to create flowing watercolor washes, bold backgrounds, and fine lines. In Beyond Watercolor: Learn to Paint with Gouache, artist Leah Goren will guide you through the process of painting your own still life piece. Share your project in the class’s project gallery by October 15th.
- Step 4: Due October 22. Finally, we’ll add a new watercolor skill to our repertoire — Watercolor Lettering. Top Teacher Peggy Dean will show you how to bring letterforms to life using blending and texture. You will create your own brush lettering design and share it in the class's project gallery by October 22nd.
