About This Workshop
Welcome to the 30-Day Character Design Session! This month, learn how to create better characters for comics, books, games or any story you’re excited to tell. To complete the session, you'll take three of our favorite character design classes on Skillshare from three amazing artists and animators. From learning to use basic shapes to convey your character’s personality, to adding color and texture, and capturing expression and motion in your designs, you’ll get a wide range of practice to take your character design skills to the next level. To complete the session, you’ll create and share a project in each of the three classes alongside hundreds of other students in the session. This session is perfect for artists of all levels looking to fine-tune their character design style in a supportive, collaborative learning environment. Everyone who completes the session will receive a character design certificate from Skillshare, and three top students will be featured on Skillshare’s social media.

How It Works
- Every week, you will receive an email outlining your upcoming project assignment.
- Watch each class’s video lessons to learn the skills you need to complete the project assignment.
- Post your project progress in the class’s project gallery to get feedback from your classmates. The best learning experience on Skillshare is collaborative so be sure to offer feedback to your classmates regularly as well.
- Run into any trouble? Session teacher Patrick Brown will be hosting an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on Monday, August 31st at 6pm EST / 3pm PST.
- Students who complete all 3 project assignments by Tuesday, September 8th will receive a Skillshare character design certificate. Three top students will see their work featured on Skillshare’s social media!
