Creativity can be a fickle thing, and hanging on to inspiration may not always feel easy. In this no-pressure workshop, you’ll join three creatives for an inside look at how they break through creative blocks, bring joy to their work, and achieve the mythic flow state. Through fun exercises, you’ll put judgment aside and go wherever your creative brain takes you. All you need are your favorite art supplies. This workshop is great for all levels.
Workshop Timeline
- Milestone 1: First up, join artist and illustrator Amber Vittoria in Intuitive Illustration: 4 Quick, Fun Exercises to Unlock Creativity. In this hands-on class, you’ll loosen up with exercises designed to get you thinking and drawing freely. You’ll draw with your non-dominant hand, draw from memory, and even draw with your eyes closed. Share your creations in the Project Gallery by June 24th.
- Milestone 2: Next, in Unleash Your Creativity: Draw Without Fear in 5 Simple Exercises, you'll join artist and illustrator Marie-Noëlle Wurm for more creative approaches to getting in a flow state. You’ll create an abstract drawing with different textures, two creative mini self-portraits, a drawing made to music, and a chaotic and exciting sketchbook page full of creatures. Share your drawings in the Project Gallery by July 3rd.
- Milestone 3: Finally, join artist Rich Armstrong in Just Start: 5 Exercises that Lead to Big Wins. Now that you’ve loosened up and had some fun, consider that project you’ve been wanting to start... but haven’t. Now is your chance! Rich walks you through how to consistently take small steps towards your big goals, and offers 5 exercises to help you clarify where you want to be and what steps you need to take right now. Then, he shows you how to start, time after time, day after day, until that project is finished. Share your work or work-in-progress in the Project Gallery by July 13th.
