In this exciting workshop, you’ll join three creatives for an inside look at how they spark new ideas, break through creative blocks, achieve the mythic flow state, and bring their best ideas to life. Through fun exercises, you’ll put judgment aside and go wherever your creative brain takes you. You might surprise yourself! All you need are your favorite art supplies and your creative spirit. This workshop is great for all levels.
Workshop Timeline
- Milestone 1: First, join writer, host, and speaker Esteban Gast in The Creative Toolkit: 6 Techniques to Spark Original Ideas. Esteban shares his toolkit of creativity that you can use, regardless of your creative medium, to spark inspiration and new ideas. His techniques include: juxtaposition, problem tree, lotus blossom, reframing, bad questions, and constraints. Share your creative toolkit worksheet in the Project Gallery by February 3rd.
- Milestone 2: Next, in Unleash Your Creativity: Draw Without Fear in 5 Simple Exercises, you'll join artist and illustrator Marie-Noëlle Wurm for more creative approaches to getting in a flow state. You’ll create an abstract drawing with different textures, two creative mini self-portraits, a drawing made to music, and a chaotic and exciting sketchbook page full of creatures. Share your drawings in the Project Gallery by February 13th.
- Milestone 3: Last, join artist Rich Armstrong in Just Start: 5 Exercises that Lead to Big Wins. Now that you’ve loosened up and had some fun, consider that project you’ve been wanting to start... but haven’t. Now is your chance! Rich walks you through how to consistently take small steps towards your big goals, and offers 5 exercises to help you clarify where you want to be and what steps you need to take right now. Then, he shows you how to start, time after time, day after day, until that project is finished. Share your work or work-in-progress in the Project Gallery by February 22nd.
