About This Workshop
Does animation sound… difficult? You’re not alone! Join two illustrators who have embraced simple approaches to animation to add movement to their work. This workshop is great for busy artists who don’t have time to learn complex tools, but are excited to dip a toe in the world of animation. You’ll need access to Procreate, After Effects, and Photoshop for this workshop but don’t worry — you’ll learn everything you need to know to use these programs. Total beginners welcome!
Workshop Timeline
- Milestone 1: First up, join illustrator and children’s designer Brooke Glaser in Animation for Illustrators: Create Easy Gifs in Procreate 5. Brooke shares her approach for adding simple, easy motion to the illustrations you already have. She provides step-by-step examples so you can follow along, even if you’ve never made a single GIF. Share your animation in the Project Gallery by March 9th.
- Milestone 2: Next, join illustrator and motion designer Manon Louart in Animate Your Illustrations with After Effects. You’ll learn how to add motion without committing to an extensive frame-by-frame process. Explore layers in After Effects, exporting to Photoshop, and putting the final polish on your very own GIF. Share your work in the Project Gallery by March 23d.
