Welcome to the 30-Day Web Design Bootcamp! This month, learn the fundamentals of web design by diving into color theory, creating style guides and applying typography on the web. You'll take three of our favorite web design classes on Skillshare to learn the building blocks for creating beautiful websites of your own.
Have an idea for a website but are stuck in a rut? You're in the right place! Throughout this session, you'll bring your website idea to life by completing each project from the three classes. You'll start by designing your color palette. Then you'll turn your color palette into a style guide and mock up a first iteration of your web page. To cap off the session, you'll experiment with five different typographic styles, so you can find perfect one for your own website design. This session is perfect for designers of all levels looking to create and build their very own website for their first or hundredth time.
All students who successfully complete the session by posting the three class projects by the final deadline will receive a Skillshare web design certificate and one top student will win a $100 gift certificate for MyFonts!
How It Works
- Enroll in each of the three classes and watch all video lessons to learn the skills you need to complete the project assignments.
- You will receive an email outlining upcoming project assignments. We'll make sure no due dates sneak up on you!
- Post your project progress in the class's project gallery to get feedback from your classmates. The best learning experience on Skillshare is collaborative so be sure to offer feedback to your classmates regularly as well.
- Get answers to any and all web design related questions in real-time from Simon Foster during an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Tuesday, October 6th at 1pm ET/5pm GMT (Simon is based in London!)
- Students who complete all project assignments by October 8th will receive a Skillshare Web Design certificate and one top student will win a $100 gift certificate for MyFonts!

September 8th - September 17th:
- Watch: Color on the Web I: Design Cohesive Palettes with Geri Coady (40 minutes)
- First Project Assignment: Create 2 effective color palettes for a website idea
- Project Due: Thursday, September 17th, 11pm PT
September 18th - September 27th:
- Watch: Web Design: Creating a Web Design Style Guide with Jake Fleming (36 minutes)
- Second Project Assignment: Create a web design style guide and sample web page
- Project Due: Sunday, September 27th, 11pm PT
September 28th - October 8th:
- Watch: Having Fun With Webfonts and Web Typography with Simon Foster (1 hour)
- Final Project Assignment: Create a 5 page mini site with different typography on each page
- Project Due: Thursday, October 8th, 11pm PT
