“Yiying” is made up of two Chinese characters:“Yi” means happy; “Ying” means creative.

I grew up in Shanghai, China, and was educated in Sydney, Australia, and London, UK. I have called San Francisco my home and have been running my bilingual creative studio, specializing in cross-border branding, marketing, design, creative education, and corporate innovation, since 2009. I also speak at conferences around the world on design and innovation.

In 2017, I became IDEO’s first Artist in Residence in China. Before that, I was the Creative Director at 500 Startups, where I worked with hundreds of startups on branding and design. I have taught Typography, and Magazine design at the University of Technology Sydney, and creative workshops at New York University Shanghai’s Program of Creativity & Innovation.

It has been my honor to be named a Fast Company's Most Creative People in Business, a “Top 10 Emerging Leader in Innovation” of Microsoft Next 100 series, and a winner of Shorty Awards in Design. My projects have been featured in numerous publications, including The New York Times, Forbes, Fast Company, The Atlantic, NBC News, TIME, Wired Magazine, The Verge, CNN and BBC, with clients including Disney, PepsiCo, Microsoft, Twitter, Sony, Expedia and so on. Notable projects include the official Dumpling Emoji, the Twitter Fail Whale, Conan O'Brien's Pale Whale, and the SXSW Interactive Big Bag Art.

I am interested in unifying dualities, by connecting art and tech, business and humor, work and life, as well as being a cultural bridge between East and West.

陆怡颖：知名中英双语跨国设计师、企业家和大学讲师，在品牌设计及创意领域有超过 10 年的经验。她被美国著名商业媒体FastCompany《快公司》杂志评为2018年度最具创意的商业人士，微软十大创新领袖, 并获得首届社交媒体“肖蒂奖”（Shorty Awards）的“最佳设计奖”。她曾担任迪斯尼、百事可乐集团、微软、Twitter、索尼、纽约大学、Expedia、美宝莲纽约等众多公司创意设计顾问。作为多次获得全球设计奖项的女性创新创意前沿专家，怡颖以艺术设计视角剖析品牌创意对吸引客户的重要性。她的设计作品曾在《纽约时报》、《福布斯》、《大西洋月刊》、《时代周刊》、《快公司》、《CNN新闻》、《BBC新闻》、《旧金山纪事报》、《TechCrunch》等多家媒体发表。她的代表作为饺子表情包、Twitter的宕机鲸及上海迪士尼乐园开园招聘设计。她致力于教授和应用创意设计思维，成为艺术和科技、及东西方之间的文化桥梁。

她今年成为了第一位被世界领先设计创新公司IDEO在邀请赴中国参加IDEO上海创意双周计划的艺术家，期间她创作了动画的饺子表情包。

目前陆怡颖在旧金山经营同名设计工作室，也赴世界各地发表创意与设计创新的演讲。她同时担任上海纽约大学创意与创新学院的客座讲师。此前，她曾是世界上最活跃的风险投资公司和启动加速器500 Startups的创意总监。
