I have always loved drawing, animals, plants and flowers ... I just didn't realise quite how much I loved them until I started to look back over my sketchbooks and realise that they all involved an animal or botanical of some kind!!

Our house is FULL of sketchbooks, pencils, pens, paints, erasers, inks and so much more. When my daughter was little she loved scribbling, which turned in to colouring or painting and then on to drawing. Watching her learn to draw and later love her own sketchbooks only inspired me further and one of our favourite things to do together is to sit on the sofa and sketch or just get as many materials out as possible and just experiment and play.

Then I found Skillshare and everything changed! I went from dreaming or a career doing something I loved to realising it was actually possible, by taking classes from amazingly talented creatives it allowed me to understand how to take my passion for drawing and patterns and turn it into a career.

I love working with pencils the most and my illustrations and patterns are inspired by the outside world - we often come home from walking our lively pup with handfuls of natural inspiration we have found out on our walk ... and if not I'll no doubt have a camera roll full of pictures I've taken instead.

After taking so many classes myself I felt it was time to start creating my own and I am currently in the process of creating my very first class: Turn Your Sketches into Repeat Patterns in Illustrator
