Beautifully soft shading and color palette! If you want, you could even push the contrast further by darkening the darkest values in the shadow areas - don't be afraid to add in dark values, even on a subject as soft as a baby, it can really help push the face forward (this could also just be a matter of how well the camera or scanner captured the original), but either way I think this result is lovely! Water control is something I'll be talking about in my next class, but I think it looks like you've got a pretty good sense of control with the paint, water and brush - you've achieved a really nice, rounded shape/form for the head and good transitions between the different values and colors.Thank you so much for sharing!

Wow, thank you so much! I just watched this lesson again. So many parts I either didn't do right or missed and didn't do enough. I did it from memory having watched the lesson multi times earlier.  I am motivated to do this one again. Thanks for your critique!

You are more than welcome to follow along with what I'm doing, but the way you did it is a great approach! The video/class can be used as a guide, but you'll learn a lot from just painting from what you recall - or by studying the reference as well.
