Trying my hand at portraits! I used an Unsplash image of a woman whose expression really interested me. I liked the angle of her face and how the sun was casting shadows on her.

I was definitely nervous to add ink to her, but it immediately brought her to life.

 

 

And the final (for now) result:

 

I think I want to work some more on the stippling, but I don't want to overdo it. Part of me wishes I had left the light side of her face completely blank, but I also wanted to blend the shadow sections and make it a little dramatic. I may keep working at it or leave it as is.

 

I think she turned out really expressive and I wish I knew what she was thinking!
