Travel Illustration: Draw a Scene from your Favorite Place

Hey Taylor!  It's so cool to see your project here! I really like the composition, with the caiman slightly off-centered to the left, and the dancers wearing flowy cumbia dresses in the foreground. I'm anxious to see the spectators in more detail as well-- what they're wearing, where they're looking, and how they're interacting with the performers and/or with each other. Those small details will surely add another layer to the story of this event.  Also, I'd love to hear more about your experience at this festival. I've never been!  What materials are you planning to use for color? I can't wait to see the finished drawing. Thanks for taking my class! Sarah

I am going to use markers and colored pencil, per your videos. Never used markers for art before! I am excited to try a new tool.

Great job on your drawing! I LOVE those caiman t-shirts and the dotted pattern on the dancers' dresses. My only suggestion would be to add a slightly darker gray shadow on the pavement where the man in the caiman costume is standing to add a bit of contrast against his gray shoes. I can't wait to see the next one!

Good advice!!! I also messed up the sign pole. Look closely. It's floating! haha. 

Oh yeah, I didn't even notice. You can always go over it with white colored pencil. :)
